The food and drinks quality/selection at Blues kitchen in Shoreditch is always fantastic, but every time we've been there the service has been abysmal. The most recent trip there resulted in another tables food and drink being added onto our bill, our food orders being taken incorrectly and drinks not being delivered to the table or far too slowly. Most people had finished their main meals by the time two of our party had theirs. The servers were pretty unapologetic about it and it took 25 mins to clear up the bill (after asking for it 5 times!)

The atmosphere is great here and the decor is cleverly designed to make you feel like you're an extra in Grease!

Sadly, the service was pretty bad on this occasion. The waitress was friendly but didn't write down our order which subsequently meant she got our order wrong twice.

She also clearly forgot to send for our mains because we waited ages and when they eventually arrived they were dried out (likely from sitting under the heat lamp). The replacement brisket was much nicer.

We had a 50% off voucher otherwise I think this would have been really expensive for what it was. The cocktails were tiny for £10 (espresso martini).

I was not at all pleased with the £17 service charge on our £80 bill. I did not feel this was deserved but unfortunately the rest of my table was typically British: having complained the whole way through the meal, everything was suddenly 'just fine' when it came to paying!

Maybe this was just a poor experience because I feel there was a lot of potential here.

Our overall experience was great. The food was good but not great given the cost of main courses. we stayed on for the bands, which were fantastic. I think they just made the whole evening worthwhile.

Will definitely go again but perhaps would not have a full meal as it was not that good value, to be honest, perhaps just plates to share pre-show.

Any time I go there I am happy with the food, service, drinks and the music. I am happy the bar downstairs is now open to public and not just for private hire. The only disappointment was the missing sea food platter from the new menu.

Atmosphere at the Blues Kitchen is always great - food doesn't come short either! Their Wings & Things always hits the spot, with a doggy bag of leftovers to spare!

However, the last time we visited was on a Wednesday, I was a bit disappointed - although it said £5 cocktails everywhere on the menu, we discovered later that the cocktails we chose wasn't included in the offer and we were charged more than double that for each one. After 10 minutes, the server just came back with the same bill and no proper explanation. I couldn't be bothered so I just paid and left. Unfortunately, I felt a bit robbed this time round as I've read nowhere that the offer was on selected cocktails only. Beside, the ones we ordered were from the same exact page the offer was advertised.

So, my advice is to always be careful of these so called offers as you could be in for a surprise later!

We came here for my boyfriends birthday. We were so impressed by the blues kitchen, the food and drinks were fantastic with a great atmosphere. We were served by Alice who gave us free birthday shots and a birthday card, the little extras go a long way. She was a fantastic waitress and we will definitely be back

I was disspointed by the wine, Shiraz (Australia), to the extent that I requested the server to verify if it really was the wine I ordered. It was. Dissapointing.

I was hoping to have cheesecake on the dessert menu. Very good cockatail, good food. Ordered chicken burger was delicious but a bit cold. I ate it anyway. Excellent customer service as always from the door, bar & to be served at the table. That's why i kept going back welldone team.

On this occasion my experience was not great.

First issue - started from when I called to try to add an extra person to my table and change the timings; the girl who took the call was abrupt and not at all willing to try to help - it was sharp no changes possible. I then had to leave my office whilst it was raining to go to the restaurant to double check if I can make the changes and this was done with no problem - thank you Karl.

Second issue - ordered a round of drinks & they arrived incorrect - simple error but just added to the bad experience.

Third issue - finished our starters, waited ages for a mains filling up on pints of beer (!) only be asked did we want the dessert menu - we had not had our mains yet. Our table was not being waited on efficiently enough for the person to notice how long we had been waiting. By the time the food arrived most were quite full on pints..

Fourth issue - service was put on the bill and we quite frankly did not receive good service. My boss who was visiting from overseas paid it so I didn't notice this charge until the following morning when he passed me his receipt. We were offered a discount which was lovely however from years of working in hospitality I personally wouldn't have added service to this particular table on this occasion.

I have been to the Blues Kitchen many times and it is a good establishment but on this occasion it was poor. Most of things that took place weren't a major drama but the customer service skill set needs addressing; from the beginning of the service (i.e. booking queries line) to when the customer leaves the experience should be good.

I would like to mention the girl who did find out our mains were late was very good in trying to rectify a lost situation. So thank you to this waitress!

Would came back to have drinks but not to eat.

Food and service from the lovely waitress was amazing. The only downfall is that we were told by another server after being offered more drinks and desserts which we agreed to, we were told we only had 15 minutes left on our table.

A great overall experience! Although service was initially pretty slow, the food was brought out rapidly and was absolutely amazing! We both had the brisket burgers which were unbelievable and so full of flavour and perfectly cooked! The staff would come around topping up the (unlimited) Prosecco fairly often and I don’t think my glass was ever empty for longer than 3 mins! An overall worthwhile experience and would definitely recommend!

LOVE this place. Came here for a date on a Wednesday. Amazing food and drinks, great service. We booked a table for 8.30 but weren’t seated until 9 as it was so busy. Possibly the tiniest bit too dark, but I think that helped cover the fact I had buffalo wing sauce around my face!!
