The Boathouse Restaurant - NY
Awesome service, delicious food, and the view was just perfect.
Restaurant was recommended by Paul at the local Chamber of Commerce & The Marriott Courtyard!
Overall a Fantastic Dining Experience visiting from Buffalo NY👍👍👍
A bit expensive and a little loud. Beautiful view of the lake and food was good
Always a good meal and good service
Nice view, fun drink menu, good, reliable food. Had hoped for more variety for lunch, mostly sandwiches, salads and burgers. Lovely property, steep drive snd walk to the restaurant.
The service was prompt but not particularly friendly. The food was OK but not great. The view was excellent. I would recommend to people who want a beautiful view of the lake.
Waited one hour and 20 minutes for our dinner. The restaurant ended up paying for our dinners because of the long delay but it didn’t make up for the inconvenience. The noise level was horrible as there was a party of approximately 20 people near us shouting over each other just to be heard. The wait staff was apologetic and said this was not a normal night. It seemed that their kitchen could not accommodate a large party plus regular customers. Our reservation was made several months ago and we wish that they would have just cancelled our reservation if they could not prepare meals for that many people ordering at the same time. Although the food was excellent, we probably would not return.
great location, right on the lake. Food was good but nothing to write home about.
Nice addition was the Octoberfest menu!
We arrived a little early for our reservation and opted to wait in the lounge area for a table. We requested an outdoor table. Lounge was loud, but acceptable. Once we were finally seated, well after our reservation time, we sat for over 20 minutes without any service. Finally our server, Tracy, came and took our drink order and told us someone would be by with water and bread. We then waited another 10 mintues for water, no bread. Tracy came and took our order and still no bread. We finally made the decision that we couldn't stay. We offered to pay for our drinks and leave. The manager was apologetic, but the entire experience was deplorable. We spent our 31st anniversary down the street at another local restaurant, not the one we had driven over 3 hours for. The folks at table next to us shared similar story on their wait. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Dined during the off season so we had our choice of seating. Beautiful outside table looking over the lake. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Food was fine but not outstanding. Would return though if we visit again.
Great lakefront find in Lake George/Bolton Landing area! The restaurant is on the same property as Crest Haven Lodges (which looks really nice!) As we drove down the steep driveway to the parking lot for the restaurant, we were promptly greeting by a young man with a golf cart to drive us to the restaurant-down the rest of the steep hill. When we walked in the restaurant we were promptly greeted & brought to our table. Our server Jen couldn't have been nicer! She was very helpful with menu selections (gluten free included!) Our food & drinks were very good! Highly recommend if you're in the area!
Wonderful meal and Kelly was the very best!
Small outside patio - 3 tables. Celebrating anniversary and seated table with 18 month child next to us (within 5 feet). Cute but .....
The Boathouse Restaurant just isn’t what it used to be. The quality of food has gone down but the prices have not. It used to be a “nicer” restaurant - a place to go to avoid the basic bar food of Lake George Village establishments; but it’s now right along with them. Mediocre food for higher prices, sticky tables and so-so drinks. They still have a great location for a lake view if that’s all you care about. We are removing it from our Lake George must do’s. Sorry Boathouse :(
Sit on the back deck...and get the Lobster Roll...you will not be disappointed.
A beautiful view! Live entertainment! Good food!
Great Food ,service, and overall night out with family. Live music on deck. great views of Lake George.
Family dinner for 8 people. Quick and friendly service. Delicious food and beautiful view.
Unfortunately, we were in a room near a table with 7-8 unruly children. With the noise level and children running around the room, it was near impossible to enjoy our dinner. I understand going on vacation with friends and family but, if your children are going to misbehave the entire time, you shouldn’t be in a restaurant where other patrons have to endure your lack of respect. We were there 8/19 at 6:15. Maybe too early! I must say the food was good and there were children that were well behaved. It was just this table.
Food was too spicy. Our waitress, Kelly, was outstanding.
The Boat House was great. We sat right on the water, live music was playing at the bar, our food was good and I highly recommend the lobster roll and the Tomahawk steak!
Limp brown salad. Terrible pasta sauce on my chicken parmigiana. My wife liked the red snapper. Portions are large. Overpriced but you are paying for the view. The men’s room was out of soap.
Server was polite and professional, ambiance was beautiful. Unfortunately the food was awful. Had 2 bites of my entree and was so disgusted I didn’t eat any more and lost my appetite. My wife didn’t enjoy her meal and didn’t think the chicken was freshly prepared. We asked for my 2 year olds pasta and butter to come out as soon as possible... 50 minutes and one inconsolable toddler later it finally came out with our entrees. (Restaurant wasn’t crowded as we arrived at 4:30 so the kitchen shouldn’t have been in the weeds)
Very nice, great food and service
Excellent food and service. Beautiful lake front view.
It was very loud and the food wasn’t very good. They charge 12 dollars a glass of wine. That’s crazy. It’s not the Caribbean.
Received a call the day of reservation and was told to be on-time because they would only hold our table for 5 minutes. Ok. We arrived 10 minutes early and proceeded to wait for 55 minutes before being sat. Was first told we would have a table outside, didn't happen. Then we were told we would have the best table under the gazebo, didn’t happen because it was reserved for the owner. I guess we know now where we as customers rank in level of importance. Finally sat a table with a nice view but right up against the bar. It felt like people were standing on top of us. We ordered the overpriced specials of baked cod and prime rib with roasted potatoes. We had asked for a medium prime rib, and it came out rare. Sent it back and didn't look much different after waiting 15 minutes and everyone else had finished their food. The roasted potatoes were more like boiled potatoes and had no flavor — overall lousy experience and grossly overpaid. The only thing going for the Boathouse is the view.
Beautiful setting on Lake George. Lively & good bar scene.
We really enjoyed our lunch at the Boathouse. We will be back.
Nice atmosphere and good food.
Was put in a downstairs room with 2 window air conditioners and a view of the boat parking under the restaurant. Waited about 20 minutes for a sever. Food was good, but environment and service was not worth the money.
We enjoyed a picture perfect lunch spot outside, yet covered overlooking Lake George. Our servers were attentive for the 5 of us. Four of us enjoyed salads with lobster and salmon, while our lone "sandwich" guy had the special, a warmed open face turkey and cheese on a multigrain roll. His only thought was that he wanted chips and not fries which were not on the menu. All in all, it was a delicious and delightful lunch!
Stopped for lunch while on vacation - beautiful and delicious
This was our second time coming here for lunch this summer, and once again, it was incredible. The food was delicious, the lake was relaxing, and the service was spot on. Although it’s a bit pricey, it’s very well worth it. This is officially our go-to spot for when guests come to town and want to eat out; it’s been a hit with our visitors both times, and we are eager to come again.
Wonderful meal and great service , amazing views
What an amazing place to go!! there was a live duo playing at the outside bar. We ate lunch at the lower level dock and later migrated up to the lounge areas overlooking the restaurant and Lake George! absolutely stunning grounds and landscaping! We will definitely be keeping this place in mind for future events and date nights!!
Staff is excellent... atmosphere is great! Food ......... not good. I was so excited for my Chicken Rustica ... it had absolutely ZERO taste... let me repeat that ... ZERO taste. No seasoning... just blah ... I wish I had been at the table when our server cleared the plates because I would have asked for my money back ... my son had the Lobster Mac and Cheese and it had WAAAAAYYYYY TOO MUCH garlic ... even for us hardcore Italians... you have a goldmine there IF the food was good ... it just is not.
Seafood was very good; burger was average.
Whenever I'm in Lake George ( several times a season), The Boathouse is my go-to place for a fantastic meal. Their prime rib is some of the best I've ever had. This past weekend, my wife and I had an incredible table downstairs at dock level. It was such a cool experience eating great food, and sipping on frozen cocktails, while watching the ducks swim along the dock area. My only complaint was that the frozen drinks were a bit on the shy side with the rum. The best part, is that you get an amazing dining experience, without breaking the bank. I'd highly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting Lake George.
