The Botanist Broadgate Circle
Service was fantastic!
Couldn’t decide to what to get and my waitress very politely suggested the salmon fish cake! I will definitely be back for that alone!
I really wish you'd have tables further apart; it's like having lunch with strangers when you're on one of those tables for two.
Thanks for your comments, we will pass onto the management team.
Met a friend for dinner at 7.30. The place was not terribly full. She's veggy and they have some options she was happy with. I had a burger which was ok, fries marginally underdone. Her veggy main was pathetic for the price. More like a starter. We had puds that were fine and filled some gaps. I think it was before 10.00 we were told the bar was closing and asked if we wanted a last drink. Glad we didn't because soon bright lights came on and there was plenty of banging and crashing going on by the staff. Message received.
Hi Johntoo, thank you for your feedback, I am so sorry your experience wasn't a fantastic one. We would like to understand where we went wrong and so if you have chance, could you drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org Many thanks Gemma
I booked this restaurant for my boyfriends birthday and we did the bottomless brunch. I've been to the botanist before as well as their sister restaurant in broadgate also and had brilliant experiences both times. Unfortunately this time round the food was extremely poor but the level of service that we received from our waiter and the manager/maitre'd was really outstanding, so in spite of the food tasting comparable to a mcdonalds cheeseburger and being burnt, it's something we could laugh off at the end of the day. It's rare that you get such brilliant customer service so to the waiter (I didn't get your name) thank you for being understanding and it hasn't deterred me from visiting in the future. : )
Staff were attentive. Starters were lovely, mains not quite what we were expecting. A little disappointed that I had mentioned we were there as it was my daughter’s 18th Birthday but nothing special was done to mark it.
Thank you so much for your review. I am sorry the team didn't pick up on the birthday celebrations.
I had done some research before hand about where to go for bottomless brunch and this place offered the best selection of drinks I could find. The food was absolutely incredible and I would definitely recommend the mac and cheese croquettes to start! We were waited on hand and foot, our glasses were never empty, and the service was fun and friendly.
Thanks so much for this! So happy that you had a great time and look forward to seeing you back with us again soon.
Absolutely amazing experience. Would highly recommend for a great day out. We came for bottomless brunch and serve was impeccable!
Hi JadeH, great to read!! Thanks for your review and I do hope we see you back soon!
Good location, nice big space and staff are pretty good. Food is average (comes out suspiciously quick) however and a bit over-priced (£15-19 for main). Better for drinks than food.
Thank you for taking the time to review you visit DavidS, I will be sure to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks Gemma email@example.com
Great menu with good election of meals, but not too many choices to overwhelm. Quality of food was excellent. Recommend the halibut.
Thanks Tejneet, its lovely to read reviews like this! We hope to see you back soon. Thanks Gemma
Our waiter, Carlos, was fantastic - energetic, funny and very engaged. Checking we had everything just when he should. Food was good and arrived promptly. They stock Seedlip which is always a plus for a lunchtime "gin" and tonic. Only criticism - the tables inside are far too close together. Not suitable for business lunch with about a 10cm gap between them. But for a catch up with friends it doesn't really matter if you are so close you can pick up a glass by mistake from the next table along...
Thank you for taking the time to review your visit, we will be sure to pass your comments on to the management team. Thanks Gemma
A return visit that didn’t disappoint! Food was excellent again and Carlos our waiter was so happy and attentive.
So lovely to read! We will be sure to pass onto Carlos
It's a nice convenience to meet up for lunch. The waiter was very good, very attentive. The maitre'd was ok. I was 5 mins early and want to sit at the desk to wait for my friend. She was kind of rude
Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am sorry you had some issues with our staff, we hope this doesn't put you off returning to us. Many thanks Gemma
Booking online was fast and easy. My table was ready ahead of my timeslot which was great. Service was good but could have been sharper. Food was very good value and the restaurant was very clean. I will definitely book again.
Thank you for your review, I will ensure your feedback is passed on and we look forward to seeing you again. Thanks Gemma
Would reccomend and go back, only downfall was there was no aircon upstairs in the main dining area on the hottest day!
Hi ElianaC, I'm sorry we had these issues when you visited with the aircon. We are looking into this with our maintenance team as a priority! Thank you for you review.
I just wanted to thank you and your staff for being so accommodating for us last night, I especially want to thank our waitress (Hilda I believe) for excellent service! We will come back for Saturday brunch as recommended to us by Hilda as it sounded great!
Hi bdaygirl2019 I am so sorry to read this, would you be able to contact me with some more details so I can look into with our management team. Best wishes Gemma
Such a lovely ambience and good quality food, will definitely be back!
Thanks LeeC - we look forward to seeing you soon!
Extremely limited brunch menu. When asked which sweet and fruity white wines they had was served a Sauvignon which tasted of sour grapes. Was told all the wines were dry nothing fruity. Wierd white lights at the table shining in your eyes. Toilets were the best bit about the place nice and clean and large. And the waiter was friendly.
Hi Tashatotts, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. If you have a chance, could you send me your contact details as we would like to understand where we went wrong as we hate our guests leaving unhappy. Many thanks Gemma gemma@Etmgroup.co.uk
I have been to the Botanist at Broadgate Circus on several occasions and always had an amazing experience. The food is delicious with generous portions and the staff are friendly and very helpful. The weekend brunch is scrumptious and I will definitely be back again! Great for a catch-up with the girls!
Thank you so much! We hope to see you and the girls back soon!
Great food and service. Stagg were friends dly and continuously topped our drinks up throughout the meal.... highly recommend bottomless brunch.
Hi Clare, so pleased you enjoyed your visit! We hope you come back and see us soon!
Food had gone very downhill here to be honest, very average now
Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I am so sorry you were so disappointing with the food. We would really like to understand the issues so we can look at fixing this, would you be so kind as to contact me when you have a chance to discuss your visit? Many thanks Gemma firstname.lastname@example.org
Lovely lunch out with my mum. Very attentive staff, lovely food, excellent atmosphere and there was a live performer which was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend. The flatbread and hummus nibbles are also a winner - you have to give them a go.
Not a very good business lunch. I took three clients out, we were seated quickly but the service was extremely slow despite the restaurant being half empty. We were also never offered top ups of our drinks. The food took nearly 50 minutes to come - and when it did, the portions were small and the food was not hot. Very disappointing. Will not be back.
Hi Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I am so sorry that your lunch experience was not a good one. Please could you get in touch as i would like to discuss your visit in more detail and try to make this up to you. Many thanks Gemma email@example.com
A group of us went to The Botanist to celebrate a special occasion; all of us opting for the Bottomless Brunch. One of my friends has coeliac disease and a few other intolerances and so asked what menu substitutions could be made for her. We did not ask for a reduced price or anything unreasonable, yet my friend's questions were met with ridicule and open hostility. The server even asked her if she was "really allergic or just on a diet" which I thought was completely unacceptable. The food is good, the price is great, the staff need to work on their manners.
Hi. I am so sorry to read this review. Allergen issues are such a key element of our training and menu design and something that should never be overlooked and so I am sorry your friend was treated this way. We will be addressing your feedback with the team immediately. On behalf of ETM Group, please accept our apologies. Best wishes Gemma
Very good, especially outside on a sunny day. Will use again.
Absolutely hate the dead hanging swan over the stairwell.
The food - plant based option - was Aubergine, which if you like aubergine is pretty difficult to make tasteless, but The Botanist managed it. It was bland at best and not very warm. My friend's main course was also less than piping hot. We should have complained but hate doing so.
Water was £4 per bottle, and the whole meal cost £60 but definitely did not feel worth it. The dessert was a saving grace. If only the rest of the food met that standard.
The pancakes at brunch were delicious, and the burger was good, too. The girl singing and guy on guitar were great - sometimes live performers in restaurants make you uncomfortable, but they were a great addition.
Only complaint was them seating another foursome right next to us. We were literally the only table in the place, so why cram us in?! It’s not even like we were at the window to make the place look busy. Was weird. Service great otherwise.
The soup starter (purple carrot and lentil) was served tepid and not fresh. Colour and consistency of bbq sauce. Hurried service as the table was reserved, but not until an hour after we had finished dessert.
My third visit, but will be the last. Has gone downhill big time in terms of food quality/presentation and service. Very disappointing as have had no issues with 2 previous visits. Did not have my booking on arrival... but I could see it clearly on the screen and had to point it out. Quite slow service, but that can be excused as it waa a fairly busy lunchtime. The waitress appeared to struggle with the english language. My fish was not filleted and was full of bones, and a very small portion in any case. My daughter's medium- rare steak was very gristly and barely cooked at all. All in all extremely disappointing, and I can only assume there has been a change of management, staff or customer service ethos, possibly all three.
Slow service, so so food.
Superb..they do brunch brilliantly..glasses full..food and service good..ive been a few times and willkeepcoming back as libg as they keep it up
Second time to the botanist and both times were great.
Went for bottomless brunch, very attentive service for drinks and good variety. Food all of a good quality and value. Nice ambience for brunch including some live music
Horrendous ambiance, so loud and a terrible place for dinner. Need better separation between the restaurant and the bar.
The chorizo pasta special was delicious! I could have eaten two bowls full. The Botanist is always a guarantee for good lunch.
Not as good as it has been previously, the bottomless side of brunch has been toned down a lot. Food was ok.
Far too noisy at 6pm meeting a friend for a catch up.
We went for the Sunday Brunch. Food was very good, tasty hot and well presented. Bottomless Bloody Mary's were very tasty, although the waitress needed prompting for a refill. Two different live music acts played during our time there, both excellent and provided a very good atmosphere. Its a good Sunday Brunch option.
Great crust on the pie. Good service and ideal location from the office
Great place to have brunch with friends, the bottomless brunch is worthwhile, the waiter keeps coming round to fill your glass so you glass is never empty, you can swap between prosecco and wine so they are very accommodating. It was quite cold in there so had to ask for them to turn the air conditioning off. I would say that just having one vegetarian main on the brunch menu is very limiting, they need to expand on that.
Really enjoyed the bottomless brunch. However I found the portion size slightly smaller than average. But I would recommend this restaurant again. Infact we booked our next sitting while waiting for our mains
