Selected The Grosvenor Arms as an ideal lunch venue at which to meet a friend prior to visiting the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. This worked very well for us with a shuttle bus to the event leaving from the front of the hotel. We were also pleased with the location in general. The dining room was civilised, the food pleasant and the service from our waiter first class - helpful and attentive but not intrusive. We would certainly return.

Pre-theatre meal, they don’t cater for this but had a main and a drink before we had to leave.

Will give the restaurant a try again soon when we have more time.

Great spot to have a drink or enjoy pre-theater dining. Menu had decent selection - nothing ultra foodie but something for everyone. We each had the 28 day aged rib eye, and it was so delicious! Wait staff and service were excellent.

Water only comes in big bottles so if you want still and sparkling you have to order two large bottles for two people.

I was going to order the shepherds pie but was told that it takes 25 minutes which I feel they should advertise, may have sped up our ordering, as we chatted for a while first.

I had the Cesar salad in the end which was nice and my colleague had the fish and chips which looks very good, not too oily, decent size portions

Photos of the place make it look nicer than it actually it, it’s more of a cafe type then restaurant but, it’s good value and the food was good

Extremely disappointing to have a booking for dinner accepted, travel across town and then be told that the kitchen is closed and food is not being served.

When we arrived we stood waiting to be seated , but no one acknowledged us so eventually I went to the bar and asked - there was no table reserved for us , despite making the booking. Thankfully there was a table free so we were seated and served in good time for our pre theatre dinner. After this bad start, the food was good and served quickly with good value for money.

I needed somewhere near Victoria to meet my sister & her children. Thought the food would be suitable for them & some of the reviews were good. They were very happy with their burgers, but the service was dreadful. I'd booked a table as we were on a bit of a deadline, no one greeted us as we entered the room, after waiting for a few minutes (in a fairly empty restaurant, maybe 4 other customers), I had to approach a waitress. She pointed at a table we could have, no reservation card and we weren't shown to the table. I asked for salt, this didn't arrive so I had to go and get it, I asked another waiter for an extra portion of fries, he didn't understand me. At all. Needless to say, even though I asked a third member of staff, we never got them. At £20 a head (with no alcohol, starters or pudding) and service included, I was deeply unimpressed.

Pleasant place to have lunch, although dining room was a little chilly. Dining room nice enough but no windows so would probably choose the other room with the bar next time. Food good, although a little pricey for a salad and salmon steak. Good place to meet in London as it's right by Victoria Station.

We were given a Groupon voucher for our afternoon tea by our daughter. Bit expensive if you had to pay full price - 29 pounds each. But enjoyable experience in nice lounge area.

We had booked a table for our Christmas works meal, this was after visiting the theatre. We were meet by a lady who was quite rude. The service was terrible, very slow (considering there was one other table). Orders were muddled up and placed in front of the wrong person without even being asked who they were for. Milk and sugar were forgotten when cold coffees were served. It was appalling from the start, wine poured out for people who weren't even having any, again after not even being asked.

We have visited quite a few hotels in London for afternoon tea, dinner etc. This has got to have been by far the worst for service you were made to feel like an inconvenience and the staff did not look like they wanted to be there. The food was good, but tarnished by how you were made to feel.

We only wish we'd taken note of previous reviews, and will certainly not recommend.

This establishment appears to be known now as The Grosvenor Tavern. We had booked a table for a pre-theatre meal and it was ready for us when we arrived at 17.55. The dining room is rather dull and uninspiring and open to the corridor which makes it rather draughty. There were only a small number of tables already occupied when we arrived and few new diners joined us at this rather early hour but it soon became apparent that there was a long waiting time for food to be served, as other diners started to chase their orders. Our order for two cold starters and cooked main courses was placed at 18.05. The starter was finally served just after 18.35 and after more chasing the main courses arrived at 19.00. At this stage we had approximately 15 minutes to eat it, which hardly enabled us to do justice to what in fairness was a very well presented and tasty meal. Not a good start to our evening.

Problem 1) It's no longer called The Brasserie so we were sent all over the place by hotel staff until we found what used to be The Brasserie. Problem 2) The booking made and confirmed by Open Table didn't get through to the hotel. As far as they were concerned, we had no reservation. Problem 3) Great space, well positioned (near station and Victoria Apollo) but no atmosphere. TV on all the time. Waiters rarely visible. Problem 4) Two out of the three of us got our meals delivered but the third (me!) has to wait as the order was taken but ether lost or forgotten. To be fair, they compensated by giving us each a free dessert. Overall, it was OK as a snatched meal before a show but it could have all been so much better with more efficiency, communication and attention to detail.

A very confusing experience. Upon entering the hotel we were directed down a hall when we asked where the Brasserie was located. At the end of this corridor we're rooms on either side, one with a bar and both with televisions on and a few tables of customers in each. No one greeted us and when we stopped a wait staff, and said that we had a reservation she looked surprised and said "they didn't tell us and we are fully booked". A another staff person who looked like a manager rushed by and also looked surprised but was just going to seat us. When I insisted he confirm that I had a reservation, he then asked my name, looked at a book or screen, nodded and recommended that we sit in the bar as a large party we going to be in the restaurant side. He then seated us in a corner beside a table that was all set up for 10. We looked at menus that did not resemble what I read on the Open Table site. They looked fine but after 5 or 10 minutes when no one came to take even a drink order we left. Not sure what to think as I have never had a problem using this reservation system anywhere we travel.

2 years ago this was called the Brasserie and was an elegant and exquisite dining experience, the reason for booking again. Not the case now. The Grosvenor hotel has been taken over by a chain. The Brasserie is no more. It is now called The Grosvenor Arms and is a pub within the hotel with huge Tv's in both parts of the pub. Like London needed another pub. They have ruined what once was a truly wonderful experience. Even the staff that have been there for years dislike the change.

There is no 'Brasserie at The Grosvenor' any more. It is now a bar named 'The Grosvenor Arms'. We sat at a table for a long while before giving up on any level of service. We left and went for a nice lunch elsewhere.

This was our first time at Il Casale and we loved it. The food was delicious and the portions were reasonable. The service was also excellent and we didn't feel like we were being rushed out the door. Our only complaint was the noise level which was very loud during the first half of our meal, but as tables cleared out it became much better. We will definitely return to this restaurant!

Staff were not up to it - it was not simply a language/understanding issue. The most expensive bottle of red wine on the menu had to be returned as it was bad/aerated/whatever in fairness, Mohammed arranged this and we settled for an alternative which was marginally better. The food was poor and very slow. The prices for what we had were too high and there was a 12per cent plus "gratuity" added - I paid it because by now I was feeling sorry for the staff!

I liked the food, the ambience was calm and warm and I will definitely come back here again. I was treated with respect and staff listened to me when I asked a private seating.

I was quite excited about having lunch at this restaurant, in fact I booked the hotel room because of the restaurant, I needed somewhere decent to eat after getting off my train at Victoria so this seemed to fit the requirement well. I went down to lunch ahead of my business associate arriving, I thought I would have a glass of wine to relax me after a hectic journey. I stood waiting to be attended to for what seemed like for ever. I walked into a room where there were two waiters who frankly couldn't care less about me standing there. I promoted them and was told to take a seat, at a table which wasn't laid for lunch. I sat and waited another 10 minutes, a table of people arrived and sat down, were served before myself. My business associate arrived and I had no option but to complain, this was totally unacceptable. The waiter eventually took our order. The food took for ever to come, he didn't know what vinegar was when I asked for some to apply to my fries. The food was cold, failed to have the garlic butter on it as per the menu, it was dry chicken. I ran out of time and had to leave otherwise I would have made a real complaint to management. This was some of the worse service and food I have had in London and I was very disappointed and let down.

There was a good selection of mains and drinks.

It was a shame that the service was an absolute let down even though there was no other person waiting to be sat. Usher made us wait 10mins before pointing us to table. Upon sitting down, another waitress rushed to ask is we've booked it, even though we have just been sat by her colleague. The reservation was definitely made under our name too. Midway through a pint was accidentally tipped but it was left to be uncomfortably trotted on. At the end when we asked for the bill it took 15mins to arrive. A jug of water and some glasses arrived and were slammed on the table. The card machine eventually arrived after another 20mins.

Slight disappointment.
