The Brewer's Art
Service started great. As the night got busier our waitress was not as attentive. We asked got the dessert menu and never got it, which we were surprised because she alerted is in advance that if we were going to a show (which we were) things get busy and that kitchen gets slower. I didn't expect the wait staff would be as well.
I had the lamb special. Very tasty, well prepared. The rapini served with it was average.
Too noisy! Way to expensive for quality of our culinary experience at Brewers Art. Mussels undercooked and raw...on the ones you could even get open...I left disappointed and unsatisfied with the whole experience there.
We always enjoy our dining experience at Brewer's Art. The atmosphere is fantastic, we love their beer (resurrection - highly recommend). Their steak and frits are to die for. Our only complaint is that we don't get there as often as we would like!
The food was great and I felt like it was worth what we paid. My husband enjoyed the beer. The service was very good. The ambiance was great, but it was very loud so I wouldn't recommend it if you wanted to have a conversation with your dinner partner. I was very happy though and we'll be back in the future.
So noisy we could barely hear one another at our table. Food is overpriced.
This was our third visit to Brewer's Art. Had relatives from Arizona with us. They were very impressed with the facility and the food. Thank you for a wonderful time.
We had an excellent server for our dinner at Brewer's Art. She welcomed us for our first time to the location, We purchased a Flight of Beers and enjoyed them all. The Restaurant was lined with dark wood and books. When we asked our Server the history of the building she immediately handed us a paper outlining the history of the beautiful building. My husband is a history buff, so this added touch was extraordinary.
Way too noisy to hear my companion speak. Very limited menu. Would have appreciated more food choices. Perhaps this is more of a beer place. The hamburger was good. The apple and squash soup was delicious, but luke warm. The veggie burger was fine; the tomato jam made it a cut above normal.
Make reservations. The bar area is noisy. Ask to be in a quiet section if noise bothers you.
The Caesar Salad with white Anchovy was prepared to order, the light dressing made it remarkable.
Mussels were very good and worth a repeat.
Our service was very, very good.
A limited but diverse menu.
Fantastic beer, lovely setting.
Great place with great food and Beer. Good service , too. The last time I was there it was a holiday weekend so the noise was less than typical. In the past it has been much noisier.
We enjoyed everything. Two things to remember, write down the address. ( they dont really have a sign you can see from the street- you may walk right by it. ) and make a reservation. If you dont have a reservation , you may not be seated in the dining area. The food, beer and service were great.
Awesome ambiance and decor. Very low-key vibe. Our server Ken was the bomb. Also, the bar downstairs is even cooler. Makes you feel like you’re in Harry Potter or something.
Great place to hang out or take a date. Upstairs is formal dining room and bar, downstairs is another bar. Usually busy during Friday night and weekends but not so busy during weekdays. Great food to choose from. Recommended for any special occasions.
Had a great dinner celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday! He love this place and it never fails to disappoint. We love coming here.
Rockfish came out raw. Waiter acted like it's no big deal. Steak overcooked and too salty. Cocktail watery. Thus 2 points.
The food and service were impeccable. Volker brews his own delicious Belgian-style beers on site; those are fantastic, too. Fabulous dining experience.
Excellent service & meal!
Had to send my appetizer back which was a pretzel because it was so burnt it that it was obvious upon arrival at table. Not impressed with Sangria option and switch to a mule which was good. The waiter was amazing and entree was good but dessert was nasty (Lemon bar).
Wonderful hidden gem! Food was excellent! Garlic rosemary fries a must!
Food and drinks were excellent. Service was attentive and cordial. Will return and recommend.
Food was disappointing. Rockfish on corn polenta was a mushy piece of fish on cold creamed corn: completely unpalatable. One party member had steak which, while requested medium, came raw in middle. Service was hurried. Not a great experience.
Always a great place to stop by for dinner and drinks
Just fantastic food. Next time might just get a bunch of appetizers to try more things.
They had a very limited menu due to Artscape. Would have been nice if that was advertised ahead of time.
Food was excellent, four of us each got something different and everyone was very pleased. The server was very pleasant and very professional. The entire experience was great.
Great location but the menu is over priced for the quality of the food. The wait staff was very good, very attentive and I appreciated that.
My first time and I would definitely go again! Great beer, great food and a knowledgeable and super friendly staff! 5⭐
Our server was super busy but worked hard to get us out before the show.
Pleasant dinner pre-concert. Easy walk to the Myerhoff. Simple menu, attentive staff, easy to have a conversation.
We had a wonder time. The service was exceptional and especially helpful for one of our party that eats vegan.
Always a favorite. Brewer's Art has great beer and food utilizing fresh ingredients in imaginative ways. I am never bored with the menu.
8:45pm reservation. Website reads kitchen hours until 11pm. We were told to place our entree orders within 5 minutes because kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. We were so rushed to decide what to choose from the menu that we didn’t order exactly what we’d wanted. Pretty bad experience.
Great place for food and drink.
Always something new and delicious
We were not aware that Brewer's Art was a sponsor of the concert we were about to attend at the Meyerhoff Hall that evening. But it was nearby, and reviews were good, so we went - arriving very early for our reservation. Still, we were seated quickly and enjoyed a crab & leek dip with our cocktails, then very tasty main dishes: drilled duck ( a little too rare) and a small plate of peirogies. My beer with dinner was a good one, and my partner's chardonnay was better than the pino grigio she had earlier.
They are well attended, with what seemed to be a mix of local young professionals and visiting parents for graduations. One diner at a nearby table was loud enough to distract both of us throughout our meal, though. Still, if we lived in town we would come here often.
Beautiful building an interior.
Excellent food and service.
Usually one of my favorite restaurants, they always seasonal items on the menu that are interesting and delicious. I've had pasta, chicken, and fish dishes that were phenomenal. However, these are available only on the dining room menu. The bar menu is limited, and the hamberder delicious, cooked to perfection. Other items are upscale bar food, and good, but not so good as to require a special trip.
My son and I attended before a concert at the Meyerhoff. With 6 pm reservations, we weren’t served our dinner until 640. My steak was more rare than medium as ordered. Very disappointed and every table around us was also late to the show.
It was also my sons birthday.
Comfortable and casual dining. Great food and drinks. Cool atmosphere.
Went to the Brewers Art several years ago and loved it. Brought some friends back and was SO disappointed. Whatever they did, it was bad.
