The venue is very tastefully decorated and the food was very good, however the staff are not very customer focused, I found them unhelpful and uninterested in making the visit enjoyable.

Staff and food were great, it was just so cold in there as door is now left due to Covid so customers don't have to touch it. We had to eat our food with our coats on!

The waiter didn’t seem to have proper knowledge of the dishes and wasn’t prepared to find out the answer to my query. The acoustics of the building made it very noisy with other guests talking so we found it hard to talk.

The food was very good - we chose the tapas menu, flavoursome and fresh.
Quieter than before Covid-19, but still with a nice atmosphere.
Casual and friendly staff.
Will definitely be returning

Great food and good value. The drinks selection is great being part of the Oakham Ales pub. They did seem very busy and it did sometimes take a while to place a follow up order of food/drinks. If all was normal, I'm sure ordering of drinks would be taken downstairs making process quicker

All Covid safe arrangements looked secure. We were well away from other tables. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. Great place for a casual meal. Bit noisier than we oldies like, but probably suits most diners. Lovely food, loads of choice and good prices.

The staff upstairs were very friendly and helpful. Right now it is kind of confusing going there under the pandemic restrictions, you just pitch up at the door and nobody tells you whether you can come in or what to do. That being said it's a nice place with nice food. Miss the music.

Lovely pub, the main restaurant upstairs seems to be shut at the moment so dining was downstairs. Staff were mostly friendly. Our server was really chatty and knew the menu well. They let us know that tofu was still an option even though it's no longer mentioned in any veggie dishes.
All food was fresh and tasted great. Decent portion sizes and we were offered to go boxes for the leftovers.

Due to being loyal customer's of the Brewery tap for years and always previously loved the atmosphere and service received. I am writing this review with a heavy heart and feel that it is necessary for the Brewery Tap to receive this review so that they can improve on the service to keep customers.

Firstly, during this pandemic if a company wishes to succeed, now is the time to make customers feel reassured that you care for their safety. As a customer facing industry, it is necessary for all staff to be wearing at least a mask, ideally all customer facing industries should also be wearing visors. Customers would also like to see staff using sanitising lotion in-between serving customers. I did not see any of this happening, therefore The Brewery Tap are not giving customers the satisfaction that they deserve.

I also did not see any hand sanitising units as you entered the building. If they are there, they need to be made obvious to customers, with clear signs and monitored by staff, ensuring that all customers sanitise on entry and refuse entry if they do not.

Secondly, we had our dinner given to the wrong table and it was cold by the time we collected it from them (not that we should have been doing this anyway). The female member of staff that you had working on a Saturday, obviously needed a lot more training as she was flustered and stressed, which was obvious to all customers.

The atmosphere was extremely quiet, until the female member of staff crashed a pile of plates, hitting one of the nearby customers in the face with a crockery splinter.

To add insult to injury, no discount was offered to any of the customers, to apologise for the 'circus' environment that we had to endure during what should have been an enjoyable Saturday evening meal.

Yours Sincerely
Karen Keen

Firstly we were served the wrong food,it was for the table next to us (less than 2 metres away!) Those occupants took it upon themselves to remove their food from our table. Our food came-it was stone cold. Eventually it got replaced. Waitress had no idea who ordered what, clearly stressed and not wearing any ppe. To be fair the duty manager didn't charge for drinks but too late by then. I won't e returning.

Would recommend this place for food. Was amazing and have been back since and going again October with some friends.

First time I went we sat upstairs and the second time in the bar. Did prefer up stairs seating.

Popped in for an evening meal as part part the Eat our to help out scheme, had 2 starters, 2 mains, a side dish & 3 drinks for £24! Food & service were faultless, only negative was due to the lack of AirCon upstairs it was Very Warm, even with the fire escape open.
We will definitely return again

This is by far the best pub in Peterborough (along with its partner "Charters" in the river Nene.
Great atmosphere, great selection of Beers & Ciders and the best Thai food in the county. Couldn't wait for it to re-open, but it was certainly worth the wait!
