We had an amazing bookclub lunch. We had the set menu 3 courses each and all of them were excellent, in particular the desserts were sublime! The quality of the food was fantastic with great portion sizes and fabulous tastes. The service was really attentive and very friendly , couldn't have asked for a better lunch. Only thing that I would improve on is how they set out the bill, very confusing ... We will definitely be back! Thank you Chef!
Walked past this Pub many times and hadn’t noticed it. Booked for late afternoon Sunday lunch. Fab service very personable. Food great. Had the oysters to start and beef main which was perfect pink and tender. Had a really good time.
Good food and good value as always. The staff are friendly and always accommodating
We had an amazing lunch. 3 courses each and all of them were spot. We also loved the generous portion sizes. Service was very friendly from the beginning and they really went the extra mile after mixing up our desserts with free drinks and dessert.
We will definitely go back!
Great hidden gem in the middle of busy Richmond town centre. Food is always great, especially the cod in vermouth sauce. Service is always very attentive. Very cosy in winter and a pretty rear court yard garden for warmer months. Richmond Theatre is very close by, and the Britannia is a good venue for a pre theatre dinner.
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff, delicious food, we will be back!
Thanks to the team.
Fancied Sunday lunch at the last minute and got a table at the Britannia - not the first visit and that was a deciding factor. Food as usual was good along with a good atmosphere. The management team are friendly and have time for their guests.
Great food, really busy , great value for money .
I'll be the first to say that I really like the Britannia, I ate here at least once every fee weeks when i lived in Richmond, Richmond needs more pubs like this. Great atmosphere, staff that really know what they are doing, and great food. Really consistently good food. My only minor negative on this visit was the peppercorn gravy provided with the steak we had this time round, was not the chef's best effort. Sauce was obviously burnt. We complained and they first the situation professionally and quickly, so couldn't as for anything else (other than a great tasting peppercorn sauce).
Pre-theatre. Excellent service and fantastic food.
Went for Sunday lunch. Very nice food and a good selection of wine. No vegetarian option for a Sunday roast though
Great food, fantastic staff and service. I would thoroughly recommend this pub for it's food, vibe and customer experience.
Nice choices; we went with pheasant and steak. Good selection of reasonably prices wines to accompany. the Britannia is always a good option for casual dining in central Richmond.
Always a good Sunday lunch destination. Staff are very welcoming and attentive. Food is good. Not overpriced, but not 'cheap' either. Essentially paying for decent quality. Come here a couple of times a year and not disappointed.
Exceptional as always, best food pub in Richmond. I would wholeheartedly recommend it. The staff are fantastic too.
We ate here before heading to Twickenham for the rugby. The food was great and the service came with a smile. Not my first time here, and certainly not my last!
Continue to be one of my favourites..
Outstanding food and service..
As always another wonderful meal at The Britannia. This time we went for the Sunday roast and it was an absolute cracker! Plates were cleaned and we were happy. The service always goes above and beyond.
I've met friends many times at The Britannia for lunch and always enjoyed it. This was the first time I had been for dinner, the food was the same high standard, very friendly and attentive service. We were a party of 7 and had a table upstairs where there was a lively atmosphere in keeping with Friday night. One of my guests was celebrating her Birthday and she was very well looked after
First visit, outstanding meal. Definitely visit again when next in Richmond.
Friendly, good choice, frequent menu change, relaxed
Great food, quality wine, very friendly service and fun atmosphere. Would recommend it for a Sunday lunch with friends
Fab evening out with a friend as always the meal was excellent, tasty and well seasoned. Seasonal food at a great price, well cooked and well presented, excellent service and great atmosphere.
We really enjoyed our meal. The food was extremely tasty, the service was very friendly and attentive.
Lovely little pub down a tiny street in central Richmond. Beautifully kept and furnished, excellent service and staff and good range of food. We ordered 11 courses between four people (yes, we take food very seriously!) and every dish was well cooked, well thought out and well presented. Beer was also very well kept. Loos were spotless. There is a pretty garden, but it was a bit too cold to sit outside.
We were seated near their stinking toilets and when I asked to be moved they obliged but we could still smell the filthy toilets throughout the meal. I mentioned that they should clean their toilets to two separate staff member, one of whom was the manager, and they just looked at me and did nothing.
I'm actually surprised that the health authority hasn't been on to them.
Two water glasses had to be returned because they were so dirty (actually encrusted with lumps of matter).
I wouldn't set foot in this place again and was really embarrassed that I had taken my friends to this place.
Amazing last minute booking. The service was excellent. Food, fantastic. Great value for money. Would highly recommend.
Superb local pub lost in the alley ways of Richmond. Great sun trap beer garden and fantastic staff. Ordered three starters and five mains and all eight dishes delivered.
Great food and atmosphere. Busy in the bar but the upstairs restaurant was a retreat to be able to talk but still great atmosphere,
Great food, lovely ambience and really friendly service
Good pub. Overall helpful and friendly staff (forgot a drinks order). Booked a table but the manger asked if we would like to stay where we were drinking and eat in the bar, which was thoughtful. Food good and tasty and wine choice good. Ale choice limited. Only poor part was the coffee, which was really weak.
The Britannia is outstanding, in my view the best pub food in Richmond.
Been a few times. First time for a Sunday roast and I was really impressed. Would recommend
This was our second visit and it lived up to and surpassed our expectations. Great service, good choice of wines and beers and some excellent dishes. A really great experience.
Dom is a legend.
We had a lovely meal. The staff were very attentive and looked after us well. We'll definitely eat there again!
A must-try, exquisite food and ambience, friendly and attentive staff. All on the roof top terrace.. Amazing. Thank you!
A friendly welcome at the outset. Staff were engaging and helpful and the service was great. It's a pub, so decor was basic, but the food, it was fantastic. Everything cooked perfectly and piping hot. I would recommend to anyone
Britannia is lovely spot in Richmond on an alley off the main street. Wonderful staff and superb food. Splendid garden area and separate rooftop terrace is tastefully decorated to create a casual yet elegant setting to enjoy an excellent meal.
A good gourmet pub, in a small bylane in Richmond near the green. Place was lively as it was a Saturday evening. The food was good & the waitress was good at her job , very cheerful & very prompt in getting the orders etc. We had ordered oysters for starters & then Salt Marsh lamb for mains, hake in white wine sauce. All the items were good n the portions were big. Overall it was a good evening with good food & a reasonable wine list. It was also good value for money.
