Great place. Good atmosphere. Had a lovely table outside. Food was great.
I visited with my husband and 5 year old daughter for Sunday lunch and had a wonderful time. The man who showed us to our table heard my daughter's name and remembered it to talk to her by name for the whole visit which delighted her.
We had a lovely meal sitting on the upstairs terrace - food was delicious as as always and in such a great setting! Service was also fantastic and the place is so welcoming (even to our little dog). We will be back!
Consistently excellent food and service. The best pub serving food in the town centre.
We were lucky to visit Richmond on the hottest weekend of the year today.
We were sat outside on the roof terrace, which was a glorious suntrap with awnings to share to your liking.
Completely blown away by the first Sunday Dinner we had eaten out... for as long as we could remember. One Chicken, one beef. Both meats were incredible and succulent.
Staff were incredibly attentive and a pleasure to speak with.
Location wise, this place has it all...
we visited both Richmond park, and Richmond Green (Park before, Green post) and soaked in the lovely surroundings and greenary.
Very close to a evidently popular icecream parlour! 40+ queue, so... maybe next time!
Great food for Richmond residents, good to see a family owned business taking such tireless care and attention to their menu!
Dom and Sophie looked after us superbly and professionally with all my guests threatening to return. Excellent!
Very friendly and efficient young staff, great food, good value and a delightful roof terrace experience. Will definitely go again
Service and staff are excellent! Very attentive and helpful. Drinks menu great! Food - starters were good. Out of our group most had Fish & Chips for Mains, this needs to improve. Chips didn't look fresh, more re-heated and oily. Fish too was oily and could be a better portion size. Presentation good. Another member had Chicken and that was ok.
Food needs to improve overall to be rated as overall great gastro pub! Location great, ambience great, so they have everything working for them except food for now....quality needs to improve as F &C is not complicated dish. So essential to get fundamentals spot on!
lovely pub lunch, terrace area feels very nice not like a standard pub atmosphere, more upscale. portions were generous and food was tasty with a very good variety of the menu. really enjoyed the risotto and bread pudding. will be back
Had a lovely birthday lunch last Sunday. Great table on upstairs terrace. Umbrellas meant could enjoy the weather without overheating in the sunshine. Good service. Delicious food. Sunday lunch was very generous and so no room to fit in the desserts.
Birthday for husband- great food
Excellent food and friendly service on a busy evening.
Great customer service and the food was superb...
We will definitely return.
Have booked here for lunch prior to matches at Twickenham on at least 5 occasions - each time everyone has agreed it was an excellent experience. Great food, great drinks, with welcoming, friendly service by the team. A gem, one of the best gastropubs London has to offer.
One of the best pubs in the Richmond/Twickenham area. I like the fact that it is "adult centric" and not child centric so you don't get screaming kids running riot. Nice grown up ambience.
Wonderful Sunday roast and lovely garden and terrace. Would recommend to families and friend groups!
We had a lovely table in the downstairs garden area which was perfect for Sunday lunch. The food was very good and quite a lot of it especially the Sunday roasts that were delicious. The pate and salmon starters were also excellent and all this left no room for desert ha! ha! You would never have thought you were just off a busy high street the ambiance was great.
We had a lovely dinner in the garden. The lamb was quite good but just a bit fatty. The chargrilled asparagus starter was yummy.
Lovely staff. good food. enjoyable afternoon. no quibble returns on a pudding that basically came as a chocolate cake with some caramel at the bottom layer but was advertised as a caramel cake (diner did not like chocolate)
Went with a friend for dinner at Britannia and really like their food. It is always fresh and nicely prepared. Also the staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside is that it is getting a bit crowded downstairs and can be quite loud - so wish that they would keep their reserved dining guests in the upstairs room which is really nice and more peaceful when having dinner.
There were 6 of us and every dish was great, faultless. 4 of the party had steaks and we all agreed they were the best we had had for some time. Therefore if you like good beer, good steak and maybe a glass of red, this is the place for you.
Excellent! (That’s the best short review for this place)
My friend and I met for a midweek dinner and had a really lovely meal.
The food is certainly really well cooked and lovely flavours. Good wine selection if you want a bottle.
The pub has a buzzy vibe, quite loud for a pub with no music and the staff are mostly very attentive and friendly indeed.
Would return for another meal in future. If there is one criticism it is that the main meal portions could be slightly larger.
Friendly service and a great gastro pub atmosphere. Good choice of options, I am vegetarian & have a gluten allergy which was easily accomodated.
Excellent Sunday roast and the staff were very welcoming and helpful They sat everyone outside as it was a lovely day, which was a nice touch.
Brilliant atmosphere and food! Staff were so friendly and they even let me reserve a spot outside on a sunny day! We drove from far to go to this pub and it was completely worth it. THANKS GUYS
Had the most fantastic birthday here, dining al fresco in the hidden oasis of a garden filled with the laughter friends and fine oysters. Definitely a night to remember.
Food is always good here, have been multiple times and regularly recommend to friends. However the roast was slightly lacking, small plate and beef cooked through after specifically asking twice for it to be medium rare, and assured by waiting staff it would. Not great when Sunday roast for 2 comes in just under £80. Disappointed because I am a fan of the Britannia
Lovely local pub with great food. The pub is deceptively big with a large upstairs as well. The food was of a high standard
A great meal with great atmosphere - I'd highly recommend visting The Britannia
We visited both before and after the Clash rugby match at Twickenham. Good coffee in the morning, in lovely garden area and an easy walk to the ground. After the match, a great atmosphere in the Britannia, only bettered by really excellent food.
We will return ...for a third year from Oxfordshire.
Went to the Britannia after a theatre visit and sat in upstairs restaurant. Nice airy room with access to outside balcony with outdoor seating.
Food well prepared and tasty.
Good wine selection.
Service efficient and friendly.
Did get a bit noisy when busy but was Saturday night.
Really enjoyed whole experience tho.
Intend coming back to meet friends.
We had a very enjoyable lunch at the Britannia. The service was very friendly but relaxed and not pushy. Although we didn't opt for it, the 2 & 3 course set menu on offer was good value. I had the John Dory fish which was excellent & my friend thoroughly enjoyed the lamb. We shared the pear & apple crumble dessert which was delicious. I would definitely come back.
Outstanding food. Well above what you’d expect from a pub. The service was friendly and welcoming.
Very friendly staff and great food
Friendly staff and delicious roast dinner!
The perfect Sunday spot.
Good food and service, but bloody FREEZING!
Although usually good the experience on this occasion was very disappointing. We had a table booked early evening, several hours before the food service stopped. The menu on Sunday was centered around a Roast as you would expect. We ordered beef and our waitress took the order but said she would just check to ensure there were 2 portions left (which we thought was good service). She came back and said yes, all good. 5 mins later she then advised that someone else had taken the last 2 portions so they had run out. Ok, disappointing but that happens ... we then ordered our 2nd choice options. The waitress took the order but came back a few minutes later to say they had run out of that too :-( unfortunately there were no other options on the menu that we were interested in so we had no choice but to leave and find somewhere else to eat. Although we appreciate that demand sometimes outstrips supply it did seem very early in the evening to have run out of key ingredients! It was also a bit odd as when we were seated all the other tables had been occupied for some time so it's a mystery who managed to order just before us and clean out the kitchen. It would probably have made the experience less disappointing if we had been advised when we arrived that they were running low on options (we were early and had a drink at the bar whilst waiting for our table) or a least advised that various options were off the menu when we were sat at the table. I must add that the team were very apologetic and also gave us the drinks we had on the house to make up for the poor service. Unfortunately, I would be reluctant to book again based on that experience .. such a shame.
Great Sunday lunch with friends. Very pleasant staff. Roast was fantastic - generous enough and good quality. We will be back soon!
