Wonderful meal, delicious food and fantastic service.
The food at Bull & Last is terrific: we had the burrata salad, fish and chips, and another fish dish.
Service was also welcoming and efficient!
A perfect place to meet friends for a Sunday roast! Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere and staff who are chatty and knowledgeable about the menu. We found out that the gravy is made up of 20 different ingredients...seriously good gravy! The desserts were v special too! Will be visiting again very soon
A must stop every time I'm in town! Food is AMAZING!
All the staff made us welcome as soon as we walked in. The bar man took the time to explain what a virgin mary was even though it was a super busy Saturday night. It's fantastic to be able to get such top-notch food locally. My lamb dish was meltingly tender, the red wine from Puglia superb and panna cotta fresh and full of different textures with it's basil leaves, strawberries and shortbread. We left late and I thought how hard the team work and how good-humoured they are. A big, warm THANK YOU to you all.
Fantastic venue - I absolutely love it here. Great quality ingredients, delicious good, great service and good bar. Always a nice buzz. A neighbourhood gem.
My husband and I had two fantastic and memorable dinners at the Bull and Last while traveling in London in May. The food was delicious and expertly prepared, while the wait staff was well-informed though completely unpretentious. The location and the building itself is charming. The ales on tap and the dessert served as bookends to an overall great meal, twice. You ill not be disappointed.
Worth the wait - have been wanting to try there famous roasts for ages but always fully booked. Roast lamb was delicious and cooked to absolute perfection. Great wine list and yummy ice creams on the dessert menu, too full to sample anything else. The roasts are pricey but such amazing ingredients it is definitely worth it for a treat!
We often go to the Bull and Last for Sunday lunch, which it does really well. The staff are very pleasant. The menu is varied 3nlugh to suit most preferences..
Bull and Last is a cute little pub near Hampstead Heath. The down stairs area is busy and loud with dogs and children alike. The upstairs area is much more quiet and reserved. Service was okay, however they forgot a few parts of the meals and gave us the wrong bill (£100 more than ours). The sunday roast was okay, but i was expecting more, as the reviews were quite good. They also only had 2 roast options (both red meat), whereas for most sunday roast lunches you at least get 3 or 4 options. Overall experience was good, but i wouldn't rush back.
excellent, as ever. The sercice and the food were fantastic
The food was first class - well done!
The ambience however was busy, busy, busy. felt bustled and it was SUPER loud. Couldn't really talk unless you shouted and then of course you were adding to the noise!
Very friendly staff great conversation and informative. Food was excellent
Enjoyed meal but thought it was a little pricey. Upstairs dining area was nice, not as formal as feared. Nice venue for eating if visiting Hampstead Heath.
Bull and Last has high standards but if you want to be able to talk to friends you need to go when the restaurant is open- we couldn’t hear a thing eating in the bar area so very frustrating
My favourite pub to eat in. Great food (maybe too much cheese this time) great beer and wine and the staff are always attentive and friendly without being sycophantic or intrusive
Really good! Have been trying to go here for ages but was always fully booked. The tuna carpaccio was amazing, really friendly staff and good choice of wines
I have been here twice now. Once for dinner and another time for Sunday Lunch and both times the food has been delicious. I would class this as a gastropub, and the prices reflect this. However the quality of the food is excellent. The dining room upstairs is nice and quiet if you would prefer a quieter setting than the more casual pub area downstairs. Downstairs is great for a casual drink too and the whole pub has a lovely cosy feel.
The service was also fab! Attentive, but we din't feel as though we were being interrupted or hurried. I will definitely head back here again!
Always good food at the Bull & Last. We have been going there for a long time and it is always consistently good.
Always enjoy the food here. They are very amenable to dietary issues.
Great for meat but also for fish.
Love hare dishes & oxtail Raghu apart from large steaks.
Love the triple cooked chips
Good wine selection
Not cheap but still value for money
Excellent! Absolutely excellent! But maybe don’t publish this cos then too many will want to go +we won’t be able to book our favourite table, and taste their great range of wines + swoon over the Fish Sharing Platter or the delicious gnocchi. x
Nice gastro pub, albeit with an inevitable hipster sub-text! Somewhat pricey but given the location and atmosphere pretty good value.
The food and drink are excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed. It’s my favourite pub in London for dining
Great spot, with great food and really nice service. Would happily go back.
The gentleman serving us was charming and made us feel right at home, and the food was top notch. Third time here and I’m already looking forward to going back!
I ate lunch here with a friend. I have eaten here a few times before & as expected it was absolutely delicious. We shared beetroot fritters & tuna tartare to start & then both had the Hake with sea vegetables as mains. Everything was faultless & very tasty. The service very friendly. Although heavy on the meat options & we are both pescatarian, the few fish / vegetarian options are always really good so I'll be back again soon. Oh, & yes it's expensive for lunch, but worth it.
ALWAYS ENJOY COMING TO THE BULL AND LAST - AMBIENCE AND FOOD GOOD AND PREFER TO SIT UPSTAIRS WHERE IT IS QUIET AND COSY
We went out for an easy Sunday brunch. It was rather spoiled by a waiter who made us feel as though we were interrupting his Sunday morning. Mixed-up orders, inconsistent dishes and toast with slabs (actual slabs) of butter smeared on top - when we’d asked for non-buttered toast on the side. He wasn’t too bothered when we asked why the toast had been buttered - actually just walked off huffing. We’ve eaten at Bull & Last a few times but unfortunately this has left a bad taste ...
Great food as always but it is a shame that they don’t have a veggie roast on a Sunday.
The sticky toffee pudding is amazing!
Went for breakfast - was okay, portions for some dishes smaller than expected and less ‘refined’ than you might expect for the price. Some of the staff very nice, some a bit stern but generally attentive.
The food here is so good.
My preference is always to go for meat here but my wife & her friend had some good fish dishes. She has wheat & dairy issues which were dealt with easily.
I shared a huge sirloin with a chum with triple cut chips and salad.
Its not cheap but its not meant to be but is good quality food.
I look forward to going again.
A return trip to the Bull and Last, and once again it didn't disappoint. Very, very tasty food.
Ideal location for Sunday lunch after a walk on the Heath. Perfect.
Lovely service and great food. Had been planning on going there for a while and glad we finally did.
Very enjoyable family lunch. We all had fish and chips, and our dog had a free marrow bone. It was mid-week, so not crowded. Staff made us feel very welcome.
Buttermilk chicken and the triple cooked chips were very delicious but the cured mackerel is just something else. The mackerel is lightly cured and has the most incredible texture! I would definitely go back for the same again!
Staff were friendly and helpful! Highly recommended!
Great, well-priced food - a favorite of ours when we are in London.
There is a reason it’s always crowded because it is one of the best roasts in London. Great wine list, friendly staff, incredible fresh food. Accommodated our well behaved dog too!
Excellent gastropub that prides itself on its changing seasonal menu of fine food cooked perfectly. The staff were attentive and the ambience was relaxing for dining. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys food, and wants to east in a traditional pub setting.
Best sunday lunch I've had. Fish board is amazing. Excellent service too.
