The Bull Brentwood
Was a great outdoor area wasn’t that cold at all! Food was amazing, however it was difficult to get a drink when needed and also no drink menu.
We had Sunday lunch for my birthday with my family (at a social distance). It was a wonderful atmosphere and Gemma who looked after us was fantastic! I couldn’t recommend the Food enough it was delicious and fantastic value for money.
The staff were super friendly, really attentive and really very lovely. The food was gorgeous and I didnt feel at all concerned about covid. Everyone was wearing masks and keeping their distance.
Great food in an outdoor setting. Good drinks selection and lots of TVs to watch the football. Would visit again.
Great to be able to socialise whilst adhering to covid rules
Food & service was great as always & excellent value.
Unfortunately there was a football match on & showing on all televisions with noisy shouting in all areas.
Also the heaters automatically switch off & it got very cold from 9pm & our evening was cut short. We were dressed for the weather but still felt it was too cold to stay longer.
Very disappointing . Very cold, two electric bars for heating that kept going off. Television screen on the wall with people watching football and shouting. The quality of the food was not anywhere up to usual standard. I would not recommend people eating in the garden. I would wait until we are back in the restaurant. The people that wanted to watch football should have been seated in one of the marques all together.
Fantastic service by Simone! Despite the Covid measures it was a fantastic afternoon and the food was exquisite!
Michelin star quality in Essex! Pork belly probably the best I’ve ever ate!
Keep up the great service!
Service brilliant, atmosphere brilliant. It was just the food that let them down. The vegan burger was dry and tasteless (the actual patty, no fault of the chefs). All the food was overpriced.
Amazing! Great service, delicious food and friendly staff, couldn’t ask for more!
We went to The Bull for a couple of Sunday evening drinks and had an enjoyable couple of hours. It was quiet but they provided table service which was prompt. No hesitation in recommending
Have been here a few times and the food is always lovely. The portions are big so never have room for dessert unfortunately!
We had a lovely meal for my son’s birthday.
The good was great and our waitress, Gemma, was excellent and really engaging with both the kids.
My daughter wrote her a note before we left to say thank you!
We’ll definitely be going back when they reopen.
Waited quite a while for our drinks after ordering, starters were good but main courses were very poor, 2 out of 4 people ordered calves liver and bacon, the bacon had been deep fried and was so crispy and covered in oil leaving it inedible, I ordered rump of lamb which was cooked nicely but was so tough that I could not eat it. All 3 were removed from the bill which was good but it has left us feeling that we would not return.
We had an enjoyable lunch at the Bull just before we all got locked down again. The food was good, we especially like the starter of breads and oils - the rosemary bread is delicious. My best wishes to all at the Bull.
The least enjoyable lunch, freezing cold in the pub, staff stomping about so bad the floor bounds were moving every time one of the staff members stomped to and through for the whole time we were in there. I know COVID restrictions are in but made to feel
Like you were criminals. No atmosphere at all, this was meant to be a nice treat to have Lunch with out our kids I wish we hadn’t bothered
Friendly atmosphere with a very good and fast service.
We were greeted and had the COVID guidelines explained to us, very clearly.
The food is great especially the Gluten Free fish and chips (my wife’s favourite).
This is our favourite local, albeit we do have to drive, for 10 minutes, to get there.
Absolutely beautiful food at The Bull on Thursday, mushrooms in Stilton, Belly of Pork, all cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.
Lovely friendly staff. Good food. Useful comfortable outdoor space.
Very Satisfied and very impressed with everything
Food was delicious and service was amazing! Will definitely be back again!
In these strange times it nice to escape for a few hours and the Bull helped us do that! Very good safety measures, friendly staff and good service. Lovely food but disappointed there were no offers or discount cards accepted, seeing as it was a Monday lunch time, so was quite expensive.
Lovely garden and outside seating with heaters and canopy so people can mix households without breaking the law and safely.
Lovely place . Food excellent . Staff fantastic. Just didn’t like the dog barking constantly at the next table . I had no idea dogs were allowed in a restaurant
Will book again. Good service friendly and felt very safe
Loads of outside pace, lots of heaters, food was decent, staff were very friendly. Will visit again.
As a regular visitor to The Bull I’ve got to say this Sunday’s Roast was the best we’ve had there. Plenty of veg with a generous portions of beef and the great Yorkshire pud they always deliver. They’re a lot quieter due to the Covid19 restrictions so less atmosphere in bar area
Very nice meal as usual. Things slightly different due to covid restrictions but overall a lovely evening.
The food was lovely, very well presented. The service was very good, decor and ambience good. I would recommend it.
Service and social distance measures were excellent
Went with two friends, we all enjoyed the food and the service was great.
Never fail to have a great meal in a lovely dining atmosphere at The Bull.
Great service, delicious food and lovely ambience.
The pub was fairly easy to get to with no waiting times at all as it was prebooked, I really like the cosy pub cottage feel throughout and even thought it got nosier at around 6pm it was really good atmosphere. The staff were excellent and helpful throughout providing service frequently. For the food, I went for the steak medium rare with onion rings and chips knowing it is renowned for that dish and it exceeded its expectations, it was top notch, love the big bold flavours of the beef steak cooked well and tasted brilliant with the peppercorn sauce and also love the triple cooked chips equally. The dessert was also very good as we went for the warm brownies with icecream. I went at 4.30pm and stayed till 7.30pm so thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food there!
Absolutely great meal with outstanding service from Simone & Gemma. Fish and chips was to die for! GF fish n chips was such a treat - not always easy to find.
Service was exemplary and I would fully recommend it. Ignore external surroundings of garages etc but venture inside!
Lovely pub with very friendly/helpful staff!
Pros: Excellent food - especially the traditional dishes
Friendly and attentive service
Good value considering quality of food
Attractive dining room
Cons: Very noisy - not the fault of the restaurant - it's an old building with old flat walls that echo and cannot absorb the sound of groups of people shouting at each other to make themselves heard. Maybe at lunchtimes people might be a bit quieter
All good apart from one member of staff being rude on arrival regarding face masks and then the same lady came to our table whilst we were now eating asking for our number plates! Not appropriate! That should of been done on arrival. This is not the first time I have heard things about this particular lady being rude. As for our waitress she was lovely and more than helpful! We made her aware of the ladies attitude! Food amazing as always! But customer service can obviously stop people returning which would be a real shame.
Very good COVID controls. Service attentive. Good range of food options; two of our party of four had a starter and side as a main which was no problem for the team here.
The food was beautiful and cooked to perfection. Extremely generous portions and presented well. The service staff were helpful and pleasant. Definitely going back.
Excellent as always. Good food a d good service... following the rules!
Really good lunch at the Bull. Food was really lovely although massive portions. Service was excellent and all the necessary Covid-19 precautions were very much in place without making you feel uncomfortable. We would happily recommend and return. Thank you.
