Delicious Sunday roast in very comfortable surroundings
Staff friendly & attentive. Food was delicious. The guy singing & playing his guitar was great!
Already booked to go again!
Lovely secluded location. Cosy pub without feeling at all small, beautiful food & great service. We’ll be back and soon with any luck.
Fantastic place and so good to find a vegan menu worth looking at, I'm not vegan but don't like eating meat or dairy so usually opt for this option and this place does not disappoint. We have eaten on the curry night which was one of the best ever and our latest visit was Sunday lunch so other half could have a roast, which he said was amazing. It was very busy and I was glad we had booked but the service was brilliant and with lots of smiles, even though we found out afterwards they had worked through a power cut? Who knew? Really can't fault it at any level, including ambience and decor so will definitely be going back even though it's not exactly local for us!
Travelled all the way from Exmoor to meet my mum for lunch. Very friendly staff. Being a dog lover, it was nice to see that they are welcome too, so I will remember that if I have my boys in tow! I can't speak for my mum's food, but I had the burger which was fabulous. Very nice fries too, although too many for me to eat! The Bunk will definitely be our go to place to meet up. I bought some of the Denzel dog treats to take home and Henry and Alfie went bananas for them!
Very good roast dinner but no Yorkshire puddings even though menu stated ‘bottemless’ Yorkshire puddings
Also children’s burger said cheese on menu and came without
We booked an evening meal on a Sunday as they serve through the day. The staff were very nice and the pub itself fine, but we were disappointed with the quality of our meal. While it may well have been tasty at lunch time, it did not taste at all fresh and the roast chicken was only a quarter portion which given the price we felt was expensive.
There was a large group in other part of the restaurant that I think upset the service level. We had to wait half an hour for kids ice cream even after my going to prompt the waitress.
We had an excellent first time dining experience at the Bunk Inn on Sunday. We were made to feel welcome when we arrived and were looked after really well by the serving staff from then on. That was important because the Bunk Inn is roughly half way between where our friends and ourselves live. The restaurant we have used for our get togethers in the past has declined in quality and we were looking for somewhere new. We found the ambiance and the quality of the food outstanding and it will definitely be the venue for our meeting in the future.
A lovely place and all very nice. The only slight downside was that it was a bit slow in getting the food served.
The two of us arrived to be greeted by a dog defecating on the gravel just outside the entrance.
Nice :( Maybe not the pub's fault but there seemed to be a dog-based charity event (Dogs Trust??) going on. Plus, the dog seemed to belong to the pub.
My guest ordered a full pint with no head but it came with a head anyway.
My squash and mushroom gnocchi was delicious but I think the portion was very small for £14.
My guest said his fish was 'ok'.
The apple crumble was good but the sticky toffee pudding less so, although there was plenty of it.
I didn't complain about anything at the time because I didn't want to create a bad feeling with my guest so I'm registering my complaint now, I suppose.
I don't expect feedback, necessarily, or any kind of recompense. We just won't go back.
What made the experience even more disappointing was that my guest told me how much better the Brewhouse in Swindon is; and it's part of the same group!
Lovely setting and great food but avoid busy times or be prepared to wait a very long time to be served.
Great food and fantastic service at a sensible price.
It was a nice setting with a good range of drinks available and nice wine. Our food was fine, but rare steak not rare, risotto out of the microwave and a cold burger... service was slow.
Excellent food and great service as always, love this place!
Excellent dinner and equally good service. Thanks.
Wonderful meal from start to finish . Excellent 👍
Interesting menu and delicious food. Really enjoyable dinner, thanks.
Truly phenomenal! Each dish was outstanding.
Due to sat nav error we were 40 minutes late for our booking, but staff were very understanding and accommodating. Food was very tasty and atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for a quiet catch-up with friends.
A fabulous find, food delicious, lovely welcoming atmosphere, dogs allowed (and welcomed) in bar , roaring fire, rugby world cup on the TV. Only reason I gave 4 stars for service was because one chap that took our dessert order was particularly reluctant to ask the chef what cheeses were available that day ! We eventually managed to get him to ask but we felt like we’d seriously put him out. Shame as the rest was fab.
Lovely atmosphere, he pub is so cute and the food was good. There are a couple of veggie/vegan options, could do with some more please.
We will be back : )
Food was very tasty and well presented. It was nice to have different food to the usual menus offered. There was a good selection to choose from. The staff were great, very attentive. The restaurant and pub, have a nice feel to them. We will definitely be returning soon.
Loved my evening at the Bunk, lovely lovely food, great service and wonderful setting. Will definitely come again.
Excellent Cod! Thank you cook.
Had run out of food. Why let you book if they do not cater for all the slots?
We actually ate as a table of 7.
No fuss was made when we wanted to do this.
Great food as always.
Very limited menu, young lady taking the order didn’t seem sure of anything asked and drinks took along time. Food when it arrived was lovely
Ricardo is a legend
Staff were friendly, just not enough of them! Took 20 mins to get our ordered drink and 50 mins to get food.
The description on the menu is far better than what comes on the plate and it was expensive which I don’t mind when you get good value.......
Can’t see me going again
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere just a great place to catch up with friends.
Good overall but the wait for food was too long with it taking an hour from sitting down to getting our starter of bread
really great service from our host, beautiful old pub, renovated to a high standard, great drinks and lovely pub food
The service was very good. Friendly and attentive staff. The food was very good although the people that had the fish thought that the batter was a bit over done. The whole inn is also furnished well and clean. The bonus for us is that it turned out to be very dog friendly which has meant we will definitely going back with our dogs next time. Thank you to the staff for making our meal and evening so enjoyable.
Excellent food great service and a lovely setting.
Portion size varied greatly between dishes. We had lunch on a Sunday; the roast beef looked fantastic and was a good proportion of meat and vegetables. The burgers were great, but the side of coleslaw was tiny, and even with the chips, there was a lot of plate visible beneath the food. I had the superfood salad which was TINY, even compared to my son's child portion of pesto pasta. There were a few leaves, a few shavings of courgette, and a tiny amount of grains. The only saving grace was that I had ordered halloumi as a topping - which itself was very well cooked. Very strange to serve a main course with so little substance to it, and in a tiny bowl too. Plus it was only £3 less than the burger and roast beef! Overall a little disappointing. Ice cream and sticky toffee pudding was, on the other hand, excellent.
We had a lovely time. The lunch menu had a good variety of meals and the food was good quality.
The food wasn't as good as it used to be unfortuneately and the service was a bit slow maybe more staff for a friday night
Good pub, decent burger and beer. Sat in bar but right by a speaker, which was a little loud. Wasn't told had to go to bar to order food which would have been nice, but otherwise a good experience. Will go again as food, ambience and location all good.
