Wonderful meal from start to finish . Excellent 👍
Interesting menu and delicious food. Really enjoyable dinner, thanks.
Truly phenomenal! Each dish was outstanding.
Due to sat nav error we were 40 minutes late for our booking, but staff were very understanding and accommodating. Food was very tasty and atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for a quiet catch-up with friends.
A fabulous find, food delicious, lovely welcoming atmosphere, dogs allowed (and welcomed) in bar , roaring fire, rugby world cup on the TV. Only reason I gave 4 stars for service was because one chap that took our dessert order was particularly reluctant to ask the chef what cheeses were available that day ! We eventually managed to get him to ask but we felt like we’d seriously put him out. Shame as the rest was fab.
Lovely atmosphere, he pub is so cute and the food was good. There are a couple of veggie/vegan options, could do with some more please.
We will be back : )
Food was very tasty and well presented. It was nice to have different food to the usual menus offered. There was a good selection to choose from. The staff were great, very attentive. The restaurant and pub, have a nice feel to them. We will definitely be returning soon.
Loved my evening at the Bunk, lovely lovely food, great service and wonderful setting. Will definitely come again.
Excellent Cod! Thank you cook.
Had run out of food. Why let you book if they do not cater for all the slots?
We actually ate as a table of 7.
No fuss was made when we wanted to do this.
Great food as always.
Very limited menu, young lady taking the order didn’t seem sure of anything asked and drinks took along time. Food when it arrived was lovely
Ricardo is a legend
Staff were friendly, just not enough of them! Took 20 mins to get our ordered drink and 50 mins to get food.
The description on the menu is far better than what comes on the plate and it was expensive which I don’t mind when you get good value.......
Can’t see me going again
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere just a great place to catch up with friends.
Good overall but the wait for food was too long with it taking an hour from sitting down to getting our starter of bread
really great service from our host, beautiful old pub, renovated to a high standard, great drinks and lovely pub food
The service was very good. Friendly and attentive staff. The food was very good although the people that had the fish thought that the batter was a bit over done. The whole inn is also furnished well and clean. The bonus for us is that it turned out to be very dog friendly which has meant we will definitely going back with our dogs next time. Thank you to the staff for making our meal and evening so enjoyable.
Excellent food great service and a lovely setting.
Portion size varied greatly between dishes. We had lunch on a Sunday; the roast beef looked fantastic and was a good proportion of meat and vegetables. The burgers were great, but the side of coleslaw was tiny, and even with the chips, there was a lot of plate visible beneath the food. I had the superfood salad which was TINY, even compared to my son's child portion of pesto pasta. There were a few leaves, a few shavings of courgette, and a tiny amount of grains. The only saving grace was that I had ordered halloumi as a topping - which itself was very well cooked. Very strange to serve a main course with so little substance to it, and in a tiny bowl too. Plus it was only £3 less than the burger and roast beef! Overall a little disappointing. Ice cream and sticky toffee pudding was, on the other hand, excellent.
We had a lovely time. The lunch menu had a good variety of meals and the food was good quality.
The food wasn't as good as it used to be unfortuneately and the service was a bit slow maybe more staff for a friday night
Good pub, decent burger and beer. Sat in bar but right by a speaker, which was a little loud. Wasn't told had to go to bar to order food which would have been nice, but otherwise a good experience. Will go again as food, ambience and location all good.
Our first visit to the Bunk Inn and we were pleasantly surprized, a lovely country pub, very comfortable bar area with lots of armchairs and sofa seating, we had a Sunday Roast in the restaurant which I can honestly say was the best roast beef and trimmings I've ever had in a pub, will be returning again,
Keep up the good work we'll be back soon,
Great food great service and a wonderful setting which much be seen to be enjoyed.
Excellent lunch and dinner . Very nice surroundings and close to campsite
We had a very nice lunch but the menu was quite restricted.
Very attentive service
We visited for the first time for lunch on Sunday with my parents. My father has to use a wheel chair at the moment and they were very accommodating, seating us at an easy access table. We all then chose the roast lunches and they were all excellent, loads of food, a good variety of veg and the meat was cooked as we requested, we had 4 clean pates afterwards which was quite an achievement considering the sizes of the portions but still managed deserts which were also very good. We left very content.
The service was pleasant and the food quality good. Two of the party ordered the pie of the day and after a while we were informed the pie was no longer lamb but chicken so the order was changed to steaks which came with their own vegetables. The side order of veg for the pies still came out. The drinks order was wrong with three drinks. The portion size was large almost to the point of being intimidating, but the quality of the food was excellence. I would definitely go back as it was a good meal in a great location and I felt happy when I left what else could I ask for
Everything was fine. Risotto was salty. Service was ok meal was slow getting to is.
We had high expectations coming to the Bunk Inn. 3 of us had the steak and one had a Bunk burger. Overall the food was ok, but not exceptional by any means.
The service could have been a lot better. Our table was set for 5, although we had booked for 4 people. They did not take the place setting away either. When the waitress came to our table to “take our order”, we had to say that we had not been given any menus yet, nor were we asked to order drinks before our meal. Our table was not cleared as we were finishing, but empty tables around us were. A standard 2 course meal for 4 with a bottle of wine was quite expensive for a country pub at £166.
I won’t write the pub off, but with a better service it would be a much nicer place to go!
The blonde waitress was so efficient she said that she hadn’t worked there long she was epic
The food was a little disappointing - overcooked chips with the fish, lamb not very tender.
We booked a table for 9 in the BAR but arrived to be seated in the restaurant. 3 dogs had to go back into cars. They offered to change the table but everyone hungry and wanting to eat.
It took an hour to get bread onto the table and 1 1/2 hours for food. It wasn't that busy. We had booked so they knew a table of 9 was coming.
It was just as slow last time for a booking of 5 but we thought that was just a bad day, Sunday lunch, busy etc.
It's getting harder and harder to want to eat at The Bunk.
Great Food at a great venue, would definitely come again
Ordered 2 Sunday roasts. Food was ok but nothing special. Lamb very tough and mostly inedible, roast potatoes overdone. Standard has dropped, what a shame.
The evening meal (table for 5) was very disappointing, very slow service and amateurish, several choices not available in starters and mains. Starters took 40 min to arrive and were poor to say the least. Mains took another 35 mins and not well cooked. We will not eat here again.
Invoices were incorrect for the overnight stay also.
Not sure what happened on Sunday but it was hard to get anything - no menus after 20 mins so had to ask for them, took ages to get our drinks, main courses were 1 hour 20 mins after arriving but had to be chased, asked for more drinks which had to be chased, lemon and water finger bowl for tiger prawns arrived after finishing the plate and having given up and gone to toilets to wash hands etc etc etc....everyone was lovely but we left feeling v frustrated after 2 hours and what was meant to be a quick lunch.
Such a lovely place to meet for a family celebration supper and we were delighted with our lovely table in a private corner of the Inn. The menu is great; lots of options for a broad range of tastes including a very fussy 13 year old, a health conscious mother and everything in between. It was generally a lovely evening apart from the slow delivery of the food. We waited a bit for our starters and didn't think too much of it but had to wait for ages and ages for our main courses by which time everyone (especially those who hadn't had starters) was a bit tired, hungry and cross. Our waitress was delightful but really struggled to understand English and didn't seem to know her way around the menu very well - it all took quite a lot of explanation.
