The Cat Inn is a 16th century free house set in the picturesque village of West Hoathly, a hilltop village set in the heart of the Sussex countryside. It is in within easy distance from the towns of East Grinstead and Haywards Heath and only 25 minutes from Gatwick Airport.

The Pub with its oak beams and two inglenook fireplaces proffers a warm and cosy atmosphere in the winter, whilst our terrace is perfect to enjoy a drink and food in the summer months. Being a free house we pride ourselves in the quality of our real ale, and concentrate on local breweries, such as Harvey's of Lewes and other micro breweries. Our food is cooked to order, using fresh, seasonal and where possible locally sourced ingredients. Our menus change on a regular basis and we also offer a small selection of seasonal specials on a daily basis.

We welcome children over the age of 7. Dogs are welcome in the "pub" area of the Cat, they are not permitted in the dining room

Consistently the best restaurant in Sussex for a mouth watering menu and seriously well created dishes (including an amazing lamb spring roll starter! ). The Cat have the best waiting team - fun, caring and keen to ensure all is great for you. 100% consistently amazing. Well done The Cat!

This was an Anniversary celebration meal for us. Lovely food and great setting. We have eaten at the Cat Inn previously and the return visit did not disappoint.

What a wonderful find! The menu included all the pub classics but some great additions, such as the BBQ monkfish and the cod loin with fish risotto was perfect; many risottos are stodgy or too much is put on the plate. The food was excellent, especially the presentation. The service was so efficient, but also warm and friendly, and the staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and working with each other. Little touches such as flowers on the tables, really added to the ambience. Will definitely be coming again! Thank you!

This was our second visit to The Cat for Sunday lunch and it certainly didn't disappoint! We took a couple of friends for the experience and they absolutely loved it! We all had a roast dinner which was amazing! - SO TASTY!!!! The restaurant were very accommodating when asked if one of the beef roasts could be `well done' rather than pink and to swap the ice cream on a couple of the desserts, which again were delicious! Lovely friendly staff and good service too. Will definitely be back!
