We came here to celebrate my daughter’s college graduation and her acceptance to PhD Program.
We had a great experience! The food was phenomenal and the drinks were awesome!
Everything was perfect. We can’t wait to dine here again!
Went for graduation dinner. Got there at 8pm (our reservation time), didn’t get our food until 10pm. Food was salty too.
Great experience, the ribeye and French Onion soup are both pretty good.
Have eaten there numerous times before pandemic Andreas superb. Tonight bisque was very salty. Halibut not done. Not much flavor to coconut sauce.
Halibut crust salty.
Carmel sauce for souffle tasteless. It took forever to get food. BlackBerry cabernet sorbet was the best thing ever.
Great, friendly staff, delicious French-inspired cuisine, and amazing craft cocktails. One of our very favorite restaurants, with one-of-a-kind ambiance besides!
The service is the best about The Cellar. We always feel so welcomed and taken care of. Love coming here!
Celebrating an anniversary!
The Cellar did not disappoint. We had a wonderful time celebrating my daughter’s birthday! Thank you :)
Very romantic and private vibe. Excellent food and it is clear there is very careful attention paid to the ingredients and mixing of the cocktails which were some of the best we’ve had. Our waiter Andrew was very attentive and personable.
Very dark and moody - exactly what you would expect from an underground restaurant. Will definitely be going back again.
I highly recommend The Cellar in Fullerton!!❤️
It’s like stepping back in time!! Dimly lit with lovely background music. All male servers that are very attentive and provide service that is excellent! Joe, our server made our dinner experience very special! We were treated like royalty!! The food was yummy and presented elegantly!
Celebrated our anniversary at The Cellar. It was very good but over $3000.00 is a bit steep for a meal. Service was great.
We came twice on one weekend after having such a great experience the first time. It was NOT a mistake. We ordered the Chateaubriand and it was a top five all time meal and probably the best steak we’ve ever had in our lives.
While expensive, everything we ate was made well and tasted delicious. The atmosphere inside the building was wonderful.
Drinks are great and food is amazing!
The food for value was pretty good. There was just enough to choose from. There are some major items in French cuisine that would have been nice to see... Some of the flavors were too overpowering. Example the truffle aroma was a bit strong in the Mac and cheese to the point that it tasted fake.
Highly recommended 😊😊😊
It’s way too expensive for the quality. The duck was overly salted (was told “yeah sometimes it comes out that way”), the pork chop was undercooked (was told “the information about undercooked pork chops making you sick was proven a myth according to our chefs”), and service was so slow we ended up staying there over 3 hours (mostly waiting on our server). Needless to say we won’t be returning.
We had the ribeye, duck and a side of Mac. The meat was fantastic with delicious sauces to go along with. Mac and cheese was exactly what was expected... shells and cheese... awesome haha Service from Gina was spectacular, she’s friendly and enjoyable to chat with. Would definitely recommend!
Absolutely amazing, and I would definitely come back here again!!
Went out on a couples date the place was excellent from the Alex the server to the food. Would defiantly recommend and we will be going back…
Everything you'd expect from a great restaurant; amazing food, good drinks, stellar service and an amazing ambiance. Been here a few times and The Cellar never disappoints. This is definitely a hidden little gem in downtown Fullerton and a must try if you haven't been. Don't forget to try the Truffle Mac & Cheese!
Fun Fact: Both John Wayne and Elizabeth Taylor have dined here and had their favorite booths. Rumor is Richard Burton proposed to Liz Taylor for the second time at her favorite booth which I've actually sat at and recommend.
We had reservations for after dinner which was at the sister restaurant to Hidalgo’s and I purposely made reservations at the cellar because of the proximity distance from dinner and what I thought would be accommodating to a decent group size, we had a party of 11 but changed it to 7 where I expressed they could take the 4 table if they needed it. It took about 10 minutes or so for a waiter to come to our table and the vibe of this waiter which we all felt instantly was from zero-annoyed. My friend had asked for a knife and right away the waiter had to share how there is a cutting fee of $5 - not just $5 but $5 per slice 🤨😮 I want even share my opinion on that but before we could express our comments on that he just went on and on about how it’s policy and how the cellar is a fine dining experience and that’s how it’s ran ~ and that’s when enough was enough and I was ready to end my dining time at the cellar. A friend and I went and spoke to a manager for not being able to accommodate us inside and for having such a rude waiter who basically made all of us feel we weren’t worthy enough to dine there. So will I return to the cellar, you know I honestly don’t know if I would.
Good food. Terrible service. My wife and I spent almost 3 hours at dinner for 2. Our waiter was so slow. Unable to multitask. I’ve never complained to a manager over slow service, but we couldn’t even get our bill! So I had to.
Amazing food, amazing ambiance! The staff was very attentive and friendly, my hubby and I were celebrating our anniversary, they made us feel pretty amazing!
Ok experience but overpriced. We came at 5:30 for dinner during happy hour. Lobster bisque priced at $9+ for happy hour but on bill they charged us regular price of $16. Provided a desert for my birthday which was nice but we were not hungry for it then and asked to take it to eat later and the waitress brought a take out box saying we had to put it in the box which was not appetizing at all.
Food was okay except for the fact that it was served cold. Drinks and food are overpriced, but the atmosphere is pretty neat. Expect to spend at least two hours here (for a party of 2).
Great foods, amazing services.
Nice and cozy seating. We loved atmosphere.
Highly recommended if you would like an evening of delicious food and drinks
I love love this place. I have been dining here for more than 13 years now. Every single time, its exceptional experience. I never ever had any single instance where I have to complain. Their Bar is one of the best ones in entire OC. From well crafted cocktails to the service no one beats them. And not to mention the amazing food they server every single day. Above all, what makes it so exceptional is the service we get from 5 Stars Staff. You are in a completely different world as soon as you step coming down to The Cellar. I highly recommend this place. I was there just last night celebrating one of my best friend's birthday.
My dinner date was running late due to a situation out of our control, so I was worried we would lose our reservation. When I arrived I spoke to the gentleman up front, who may have been the manager (I didn’t catch his name), and he was so gracious and accommodating and made sure that even though we were behind schedule I was able to be seated with a drink and wait for my dinner companion. All of the servers were wonderful - super attentive but not hovering (Andrew and Gina), and the food was delicious. We had the charcuterie app, halibut and filet mignon entrees and a side of Brussels sprouts. Everything was super tasty and the meal was perfectly paced...I just wish I had more room in my stomach so I could’ve kept eating and enjoyed dessert which looked great (especially the soufflés). The bartender also made me a special mocktail which was fantastic and exactly what I like. I love this place and can’t wait to go back! It is such a gem with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. I didn’t even mention the ambiance which just puts it over the top! So great!
We had an excellent time celebrating our anniversary here. Everything from the food to the service was impeccable. Definitely recommend!
Wonderful! The food is exceptional and all the staff are helpful courteous.
The lobster bisque is very good as was the filet mignon.
First time experience was phenomenal! They keep a high standard to ensure the safety of guests while at the restaurant and the service was exquisite. Lived up to the hype and then some with their filet mignon and cocktails. Highly rec the escargot and lobster bisque as appetizers. The Brussel sprouts side were a bit of a hit and miss, mostly hitting but could use a little acid to brighten up the savory. Highly recommend for special occasions or a pay day as the experience comes with a big price tag.
Great service. Great recommendations by the wait staff. Good atmosphere.
We went for our Anniversary and it was everything we had hoped for
Quiet, unique atmosphere. Food was fantastic as was the service.
The whole experience was fantastic I wish I went there earlier.
