Too noisy in the main room
I had asked for a terrace table in my reservation but when we arrived, there was a private party on the terrace so we could not have dinner there... And I did not receive any message beforehand to let me know the terrace would not be available.
Bottled water at $9.00 is abusive. Food was good but not hot...hot food placed on a cold plate quickly turns into warm food. A little noisy for normal conversation. The music level was fine when we first sat down but was progressively turned up as the evening went on. Service was good.
There was a mix up in my reservation and they were gracious in the way they rectified the situation . I appreciate the way The Maître D handled the mix up and gave me a much better table . The first table they wanted to sit us was right in front to the serving station which I was not happy about especially when I’m paying good money .
Great service over all and being so accommodating with the mix up.
Incredible view and amazing cocktails!
We had a wonderful dinner. The seafood selection and freshness was superb. The meat dish that we had as well was incredible. The service was impeccable. Our server, Devon, was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.
Charged 27.00 for water that we were not aware was free-pouring. Should have asked us if we would like additional bottles and not assume. Wine service was slow. Halibut should have been deboned at table.
One of the city's best restaurants. Pricey, to be sure, but the value for money is there in spades.
The food was good but lacking a bit of taste. The server Jad was outstanding he explained everything perfectly and took great care of us.
Excellent service by a professional staff, great venue.
The food was not cooked right.
Just a bad experience
Service was friendly and professional but our mains took an inexplicably long time to arrive and it was only when we prompted our server that things seemed to move along. Not what we would have expected for a lunch in the middle of the business day. Not acceptable given the price point.
Tasty food, nice for friends gatherings but over priced
Très bon, juste un peu long avant de pouvoir être assis dans la salle à manger.
Crevette pas la peine trop cher pour ce que c'est
Really noisy restaurant, the oyster was good thi
Went for my wife’s birthday. Very noisy. Couldn’t really hear the server tell us about the specials. She couldn’t really hear our order. She had to come very close to hear. The appetizers were the best part. A little salty though. The main course was way too salty for all of us. My son and wife even mentioned it was too salty and they are real foodies . We mentioned to our server about the salty but really no comment.
My wife couldn’t finish her meal and she was very hungry and either could I.
I didn’t call the manager over because I didn’t want to ruin my wife’s birthday
This morning my wife mentioned how great it was to get together for her birthday but she totally was not happy with the food.
Normally I wouldn’t say anything but when she said you should say something I am
Amazing food, great service! Nice view ! This restaurant is a most !
Reservation set for 7:30 - was not seated until 8:30 and was pushed up against small corner to have a drink in an over crowded small bar. Service and communication was non-existent. When seated, the food took nearly 1.5 hours to get to our table - food was cold, late and inedible. Floor manager offered to make us another menu item, but at that point we were so disenchanted from the experience we declined and left. Full marks for the floor manager taking care of the meal, however with the bad reviews on this restaurant combined with our personal experience - The Chase is firmly removed from the list of Toronto restaurants I'd spend time at.
Been to The Chase several times. Food and service were good but the price was high and especially for lunch.
We were seated next to busy food pick up. area. Could not hear person advising of the appetizer specials . Three different people (only one appeared to be a waiter) approached within 5 minutes to ask if we were ready to order. Almost immediately after being presented with cheque a person arrived with handheld machine to settle up. No attention was given to whether we were in conversion or had closed our menus. At the outset no waiter introduced themselves as being our waiter. It was as if they were understaffed. As this was the second leas that average experience at this restaurant we won’t be back.
Always good food. Smaller portions.
What an absolutely amazing selection of uniqueness. Loved it!
We have enjoyed The Chase in the past and therefore, we knew we could rely on good service and good food.
First time at Chase didn’t know what to expect. No question food was great. It was really awkward when arrived, we were pointed to the elevator by the greeter. and tried to find the elevator’s button to push catch the elevator going up of course we missed it(felt like i just could not find damm button)and spent 5 -6 minutes (felt like) waiting.
Really great meal in a nice setting with nice views... a little more expensive than the typical place. But worth it.
We love the Chase! Were married here and go back regularly.
Great food. Fantastic server. I let them know it was my wife's birthday and they welcomed us with a "Happy Birthday" and gave her a complimentary dessert. A nice touch!
Asked for the main room and they gave me the table in the hallway by the bathroom where I specifically asked not to be.
Waited 30 minutes past our reservation time. Restaurant wasn’t that crowded. Prices were extreme (food and wine). Eat out a lot downtown Toronto and found their pricing out of line for the experience and quality.
Loved the crispy red snapper served whole. The service was excellent.
The Chase is one of the best places for fish downtown I I belive from my experience. The service tonight wasn't amazing overall but everyone was friendly and the food was tasty. Look forward to coming back in the summer for drinks on the patio.
Wonderful from start to finish! Had a friendly engagement with a manager and bus boy in the elevator up. The bus boy stopped by our table a couple more times that night for some friendly conversation and to make a few jokes. He was a nice touch given that most of the other diners looked a bit stiff. Our server was friendly and made great suggestions! A little more pricey then what we anticipated but we had a really great time!
Expensive but excellent food served by attentive waiters who know the menu well. Staff are very friendly.
Superbe dinner with delicious oysters, cava and wine! A go-to for seafood in the city! Fourth times and counting!
From the second we walked in, we were impressed with The Chase. The ambiance is fantastic, exuding a sophisticated, modern elegance. We enjoyed delicious and inventive cocktails before dinner, and a fantastic wine selection with our meal. The food is something special. We were impressed not only with the taste of the food, but also how well it was cooked and the beautiful presentation. We split the burrata, the venison, and the cauliflower & truffle. We then had that the Lime for dessert. Everything was amazing. The burrata was creamy, light, and delicious. The venison was cooked perfectly, with excellent accompaniments, and the kitchen split it into two plates for us to enjoy. The Lime dessert was a wonderfully light end to an amazing meal. The lime was tart, the meringue was fluffy and not too sweet, and the toasted coconut was very subtle. I would honestly say this was one of the best meals I've ever had.
Awesome food and drinks. Greatvwine kist. And superb service. A must.
Amazing food and service
