The Chilli Pickle
My experience with Indian food is limited but I was not impressed with the place. Prices are fair so its value is recommended. We shared a king thali with curried chicken which is not enough for two. The service was slow to start but then got better. I had better experiences in London.
Quite a different sort of Indian restaurant and one I would definitely return to. Not a bog standard curry house - very interesting food and style. I was particularly impressed with the set menu options and pricing as I expected this place to be a lot pricier than it is. The chicken kebabs were wonderful and the fish was cooked to perfection. Great experience.
Best curry I've had inc many notable London establishments.
Pork belly vindaloo was immense.
Great beer list with many Belgium beers to choose from. Good cocktail list as well.
As always, excellent food and a great wine list, topped off with attentive service. I can't find fault with the place.
Probably the best indian food we have ever tasted. We opted for the meat grill which included lamb, chicken and venison. The flavours were amazing, and the meat was cooked to perfection. We ordered two portions of rice, however, the friendly waiter was quick to point out that one portion would be enough, he was right! This is an a la carte Indian so you won't find your usual Chicken Madras or Biriyani on the menu. Don't be put off if you don't recognise anything, we didn't see anything familiar on the menu but we knew it would be mouth watering food no matter what we chose as we'd seen the many positive reviews for this restaurant. Overall great food, excellent service and good value for money - I highly recommend the Chilli Pickle.
Birthday celebrations were had at the restaurant fab Place!!
Food was great, very authentic and the place had a good vibe.
Spectacular food and lovely cocktails! The menu caters for everyone and the portions are generous. Service was excellent as some things were new to me on the menu so needed clarification. Also the price of this incredible dinner was a surprise as it is so affordable! Perfect venue for celebrating my birthday! Will return again and again :-)
Expected more and found the food pretty disappointing.
Excellent food which is different from the standard curry house. Flavours are very authentic and some great variations on traditional Indian dishes. Service has always been good with a buzzing atmosphere.
Amazing food with a modern slant on traditional asian/indian.
The food was deliciously spiced and tasty. Large portions. Waiting staff really friendly.
Really, really good food. The mutton was one of the best meals I've had in ages. Highly recommend. Good veggie options as well
Great food. Long, long wait for food on Sunday lunch. Arrived 1.15pm. Orders taken 1.45pm. Food arrived 2.20pm. I went up to the manageress to find out where our food was at 2.15pm and it arrived 5 mins later. After we had finished the meal, the manageress came over and apologised for the wait and explained that all the orders had gone in at the same time and due to the complexity of the dishes, they took while to come out. She did take the drinks off the bill as compensation. My observation though would be a) manage customers expectations before waiting for them to complain b) why wait 30 mins to take an order when it was not busy when we arrived c) maybe reduce the extensive menu on busier days so it doesn't take as long?
Excellent just a shame the only table we could get was at 10.15 - this restaurant books up quick!
Food was fantastic - really enjoyable - relaxed ambiance enabling you to enjoy your food. Worth a visit.
good food good service good ambiance. As Arnie says, i'll be back.
we had heard of the restaurant from friends, read the reviews and everything matched up11 Food service atmosphere. didnt feel pressured to hurry up and eat, nice to rest between courses!! Chocolate orange sweet to die for.
The food here is always outstanding - both the lunch & dinner menus. Amazing veggie choices. Seriously tasty, original & exciting.
The food is excellent, absolutely loved my Crispy Pork Belly Vindaloo. Unfortunately the Restaurant lacks atmosphere and the Beer and Wine seems overpriced. Unlikely i will return as there are much better places to eat in Brighton and Hove.
A little expensive but really pleased that organic wine and beer are on the menu! We highly recommend a visit, a lovely evening out and great staff
Fantastic, really worth going. Great ambiance, food, friendly staff. A real pleasure.
Fantastic - food very interesting and different - highly remended.
Our dinner at the Chilli Pickle in Brighton was most definetly the best meal of our lives. The food was Goresous and the ambiance even better! We spend our fist Valentines Day here and we promised we would return, not only was the food outstanding, but the whole feel of the place is really accommodating. I would racomend this restaurant to anyone who'll listen!
Great wine, incredible food, stand out service.
I LOVE this restaurant. I just wish they served their 'King Thali's' in the evening too!
Wonderful, friendly service and great food. My partner loved that everything was so spicy. I would have prefered a milder option as I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to hot food but it was still lovely and the waitress made sure we always had a jug of water on the table. Probably not the best choice for korma fans but definitely worth a visit!
We visited on Valentine's day so it was very busy but the tables were arranged so we didn't feel crowded.
The Pink Gin Fizz deserves a special mention!
Unusual Indian food. More like I have eaten in India. A fusion of authentic Indian, and British Indian. Nice vibe! I like the restaurant decor, layout and ambience. My only negative was that we had a selection of waiters and it wasn't clear who was looking after us. Sometimes we had to wait e.g. paying the bill. I prefer someone to "take ownerwship" of a table.
Chilli Pickle Brighton. This restaurant has made indian food something else! it is definately worth a visit even if you think it may not be to your taste as there is something for everyone.
Lovely restaurant. Part of a hotel / bar / coffee shop complex. Great Indian food cooked in a modern and clean style. Be prepared to eat with eat with your hands. Highly recommended.
A Must. Exceptional food and service at prices even the Greek Government could afford.
Outstanding original food with quality service. One of the best restaurants in Brighton for flavour and taste satisfaction. Highly recommended.
The Chilli Pickle is great. If you like your food with a bit spicy, a bit different and a bit special then you won't be disappointed. We had a lovely time.
I had heard from friends and some local magazines that the Chilli Pickle was a good place do some alternative Indian food, or should I say alternative/authentic.
So I expected a lot, the chilli pickle did not disappoint, atmosphere, cocktails and service were all fantastic. As for the food, exquisite, the best Indian I've ever had.
This is an Indian with a difference. If you are used to standard Indian restaurant fare this may not be for you, but our party of four loved the take on indian cuisine offered here. The Tandoori chicken was moist and cooked to perfection and the array of accompaniments delightful. Overall a refined experience with strong attention to detail. We also liked the extensive beer list, with many regional and unusual beers available to complement the food. I have to say the service was top notch. We will be coming back.
Food was very authentic and delicious. One member of our party found it all a bit too spicy. The mixed meat tandoori platter was the meal of the night. Staff very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was good. My only criticism would be that £6 for a bottle of Kingfisher lager is a bit much.
Superb food and excellent service. A lively restaurant that is always busy - booking is essential at weekends. Extensive wine list with many beers and various other drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) also available. The menu isn't huge, but everything offered is exceptionally well cooked and presented. My only reservation being the vegetarian option on the set dinner menu seemed to be a much smaller portion of food than the equivalent meat or fish options; it was delicious, but looked rather small by comparison to the amount my friends had on their plates. However, the overall experience was excellent with attentive staff and lovely food. Highly recommended.
We recently went here as a group of 6. The food was very good and the service excellent. Two of our party had recently come back from Nepal, and said the momos were very authentic. Superb evening, would recommend
Love Chilli Pickle, go every couple of months and it has never failed to deliver excellent food every time.
very good food andservice. an experience in the finer indian quisine.well crafted menu to suit all tastes.
