    Love the Churchill Hotel. Food, steak, tonight was awful. Waiter tried his best and replaced steak but came back equally bad. Shame as it spoilt the night.

    Excellent overall, unfortunately we had a lady next to us using FaceTime on her phone which was rather loud but she was dining on her own so we understood, apart from that everything was spot on.

    Enjoyed our meals of the table dhote menu particularly pork belly and dessert. The minute steak was disappointing just felt it cheapened the experience and should be swapped out for a bigger steak.

    Make sure the front desk doesn’t tell you that you can’t have breakfast unless you’re staying at The Churchill. If you can make the reservation, the restaurant host will greet you, and you’ll enjoy your meal!

    We were given a dress code to abide by so were surprised to see a female diner in baseball cap, hoodie and jogging bottoms, a male diner in blue jeans, and another male diner wearing shorts. We obviously needn't have made an effort. That said, the dining room was very nice, the food was good and the service was excellent.

    Overall really enjoyed our evening out. Unfortunately it was marred by there being no parking anywhere near the hotel, after driving around for 20 minutes parked in the road down the side just so we could ask the hotel what to do. The carpark is for residents only but said she thought that as it was 7.30 we should be okay where we had left the car …./ came out at 10pm to have been issued with a £70 parking fine. Not the restaurants fault but bear in mind when you visit.

    Very professional and food excellent. It was my birthday, which had been mentioned on booking, not expecting a "treat" (and none offered) but I must say it was nice that the visit for my birthday was recognised by our lovely server.

    We were recommended the Churchill by our guest house. We were greeted by Reece who had actually taken our booking that evening. He promptly helped us with our drinks and explained the menu. The ambience of the restaurant was beautiful and relaxing and we chose where we wanted to be seated which was beneath Churchill's painting. Soon after we were asked by Reece if we were ready to place our order. When the food arrived it was generous portions and certainly had the wow factor. We will definitely return on our next visit to York. We will recommend the Churchill Hotel Restaurant to everybody.. Hopefully they'll get the pleasure of Reese serving them.

    I would recommend eating here. The food was delicious and I was disappointed to be too full to try one of the amazing sounding puddings. Very friendly staff, great service and atmosphere.

    Lovely restaurant that exceeded our expectations considering it was a hotel restaurant. We had a meal at the ivy the night prior and this was just as good! Lovely ambience and brilliant service from our waiter. Food was impeccable and would definitely dine again

    Managed to get a table last minute on New Year’s Eve. Wouldn’t have really considered it otherwise but we really did land on our feet. From the start the service was polite, friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed all courses. I have been in restaurants that fancied themselves as something special and ended up paying a lot more for a lot less. The Churchill hotel delivered on every level, including the bill which we thought was very reasonable, especially considering the date. A huge well done to all the staff who were excellent.
