About The Cock & Bottle

Nestled in the heart of Morden The Cock and Bottle is steeped in tradition. With parts of the pub dating back some 400 years, we offer all the charms of an "olde-worlde" Dorset village inn. Our reputation is enhanced by being named regional winners for the best food pub for the last three years by Hall & Woodhouse.
The Cock and Bottle is one of the best places around to enjoy hearty food at its best. John, the chef is renowned for his cuisine and has worked tirelessly to produce a menu that caters for all tastes. His ever changing menu reflects the fresh game and fish available each day, and covers everything from lamb shank to steak and kidney suet pudding, rabbit pie to chicken curry, which is made to john"s own recipe. For fish lovers there are a number of dishes, including sea-bass, haddock, salmon and skate wing. To finish off why not try one of our homemade desserts. The pub also offers an extensive and varied range of real ales and wines.

Second time we have visited the Cock and Bottle. Received a very warm welcome and the quality of the food and level of service was excellent, just as per the prior visit a few years ago. Would definitely recommend it and will be returning again in the future.

Good service, wonderful food, great atmosphere and they even accommodated my being in a wheelchair. The service was good in that the waitress was there when you wanted her but was not too pushy and the food came promptly and was hot - and delicious.

We originally came across this venue by chance about 12 years ago. We so enjoyed our visit that we have come back every year since. It has become an annual treat. We actually live in Sussex!

This is one of our favourite places to eat . The food is delicious I had the steak and kidney pudding which was served with fresh vegetables and a choice of chips or gratin potatoes. My husband had the scampi served with chips and peas he remarked that it was the best scampi he had eaten. We finished off with profiteroles and Sorbet which was being a bit greedy as the mains are not small.
I felt this was a reasonable price for good food and am looking forward to my next visit, we find there are very few places to go to that you really enjoy.
We highly recommend The Cock and Bottle.

We went to the pub for a Birthday treat for my husband and we found the service was excellent the staff could not be faulted. The food was cooked and presented excellently and all appreciated it and remarked on how good it was. We would go back again with no hesitation and recommend them to our friends.

Varied menu, better choice than usual pub menu, well cooked. Loved the different starters and could of dined just on these alone although a bit pricier than the average pub. Main dishes comparable in price and well worth it. Good service and nice atmosphere.

Excellent food, was very busy, which is always a good sign. Service was a bit slow, but not an issue really as it gave us some more time to chat. No wine list which was the only down side.

Another of a few visits to the Cock & Bottle.
Very personal service with perfect time allowed between courses - so not hurried at all.
We like the atmosphere which is neither 'cosy' nor 'spacious'.
Certainly a favourite and enjoyed by friends we have taken.
