We had a lovely lunch at The Crown in Woodstock. There was lots of space and social distancing was observed well. The staff were attentive and friendly too. The menu was limited to pizzas only (I was hoping for the salad that I'd seen online) but it was delicious so I was happy.

Nice place for a casual dinner with our 4 year old.
Food service was prompt and tasty. A little overpriced for basic pasta and pizza, but considering the affluent town it is based in, can justify these prices.

Nice decor and atmosphere. A lot of staff, keen to help. Puddings good value for money. We shared a main and two starters and they were happy to accommodate. Lots of space and it felt Covid safe.

I’m afraid we were disappointed. The service was poor. We waited 40mins for a drink and nobody asked us if we would like a pudding or another drink throughout the evening. It’s a pity.

Excellent staff, very attentive but not obsequious, very genuine.
Super food, reduced menu. Delicious , tasty, well presented and homely.
Covid aware and felt safe.
Just what we needed for our first outing out in 5 months.

Really good place for food, ambiance was wonderful, nice chilled out area and fairly spaced apart from other diners. Service could have been a lot better, we waited a whole hour after ordering for our bread and oil starter which is a ridiculously long amount of time. We were starving by this point. But the rest of the meal was good.

Great service and food! Price seemed a bit steep for lunch - two courses and two drinks £50. Added service charge as a given - would rather decide myself whether to tip or not.

We booked The Crown through My Table, having looked at the menu of what was on offer. However, there were no main courses being served on the day, except for pizzas. Maybe due to Covid 19 the menu was limited, but it needs to be highlighted when booking, to save other guests from being disappointed

Upsetting experience no organisation due to covid will not be returning. Only one way in and out of the pub queuing with people ordering food and drinks. On top of that put service charge on the bill when you are expected to order your own food and drinks. The food was actually very nice but need more organisation and more staff.

Firstly I know it’s difficult so I’m trying to be fair. But can’t understand why you wouldn’t provide table service to avoid long queues of customers (15 mins) out of the door and having to move around the restaurant to collect desserts / drinks. A member of kitchen staff constantly walked past our table with no mask. There was a really helpful waitress behind the bar and the food was tasty but the overall experience wasn’t good so I won’t be back.

The pub looks great and the menu is good but it’s all style over substance. The service is shocking. Everywhere I’ve been since the pandemic has asked you to remain at your table for everything but here they want you to queue up. Even when you arrive and tell a member of staff you have a table booked they tell you to queue in the same queue as people ordering drinks and food so you’re then late to your booking. You then have to decide food and drink at the same time because you have to go and queue again and hopefully you don’t finish your drink part way through the meal. The food wasn’t served all together but it was delicious. When you finish they leave your plates on your table, we sat for 30 minutes and then decided against another drink or dessert because we didn’t want to queue for 20 minutes and we left with our plates still sat on the table. Another family had left 20 minutes before us and their plates were still sat there too. It wasn’t very busy and the waiting staff walked by empty handed numerous times. All in all, it felt below par, not very covid secure and and not what I’d expected

Food was just incredible and a memorable long lunch. Staff were very busy, but at no point did we feel pressured. The pub itself was just beautiful too and we loved sitting where we could see the wood-fired pizzas going in and out to the small courtyard with all the plants inside and out. Just perfect.

The Crown has taken over from the Kings Arms as the place to have Sunday lunch in Woodstock! Its modern inside, well managed, friendly efficient staff and good food. Popular, and a good ambience. Don't think of anywhere else for pub food in Woodstock, just go here!

I love this pub. ... The waiting staff and the ambience are great. But the food seems to be getting worse. Pizza's shouldn't have a really burned underside and my last Sunday lunch there was tasteless, dry chicken. I think they need to up the ante a bit with quality control: it could be so great!

Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Unfortunately the food was hit and miss. Gnocchi was good as was the lamb shank, the seafood stew was very poor, basically tinned tomatoes with a few mussels and prawns. Very good walking distance to Blenheim Palace.

We were disappointed that our first 3 choices had all finished and it was only 7.30pm. When asking the waiter to explain what was in a certain starter, they had no idea! The pizzas were reasonably small and thick based. Not normally of the standard produced by a wood fired oven. Our experience didn’t match the reviews I had read. It could have been because it was the busy Christmas period but I would have thought this should have been even more the case to stock up on ingredients!

Such a shame - the pub itself is lovely and has friendly staff. The food was absolutely awful, Sunday dinner - over cooked veg, couldn’t eat the potatoes and the pork was so tough and the Yorkshire pudding was store brought. Very expensive for what is was and we drove 1.5 hours to come to this pub we were very disappointed.
