The Dairy Bar & Bistro
Food was mostly good - though main courses were not great. Service was very slow and in some cases incompetent. 2.5 hours to get through the tasting menu - that seems a lot.
Great food and perfect service!
Great place with great value tasting menu!
Overall it was a pleasant visit, unfortunately we were seated at the back of the restaurant with no air con so was rather unpleasantly hot, when we asked for the air-con to be turned on we were told it was rubbish and has never worked properly.
Food was good, had the taster which I had a couple of months back, not much new on the menu which was a little disappointing but the standard was great. Service was friendly and helpful at all times, maybe just consider temperature on the warmer nights.
Would return again, may wait to have the taster for a while until new additions appear.
Great venue and service, staff very friendly. Did the tasting menu - whilst food was pretty good the wine pairing was disappointing.
We visited Sorella several months ago and absolutely loved everything about it! For our 15th wedding anniversary this week we decided to give The Dairy a shot, hoping it would be as amazing as its sister restaurant. And it was! As our server on the evening said (and she was amazing. I don’t know her name but lady from Northern Italy - you were marvellous!) ‘our food focus is different but our service ethic and our passion for food is the same’. And she was as good as her word! Every single dish on the tasting menu was a revelation and the accompanying drinks tasting was thoughtful, interesting and generously poured!! We had a very special night and will go back again!
A lovely weekend lunch at my favourite Clapham restaurant... the set Sunday menu was different but still delicious
Lovely experience at brunch although the service was a bit scant
Notably less impressive food than they used to serve. Disappointed.
Third time we've been here over the last 5 or so years. Consistently great food, always go for the tasting menu. Friendly staff, chef often comes out to chat to customers which is always a nice touch. Highly recommend!
I had dinner there for a special occasion. Nobody came to us to check.. food was nice. Good vibe in the restaurant but service was not excellent.
Food came quickly and was delicious. Such a cute place!
Service was friendly and warm (we liked the nervous new french guy who served us bottled beers with the bottle tops still sealed - we found it amusing/cute)
The food was really really good apart from my girlfriends undercooked, chewy lamb ... the following course (truffled cheese) absolutely 100 percent made up for it ...
The ginger cocktail was absolutely stunning .
As was the atmosphere / ambience .
I work in the industry myself so I’m sometimes a little over observant but I loved my tasting menu (I had the chicken)
And will definitely be returning !
We were only offered a v limited menu - as they had decided to close the kitchen due to the weather. Very indifferent service, and very overpriced with the bill coming to £80 for a few small dishes and a couple of glasses of wine. Shame as it used to be such a good restaurant
Brilliant experience, food was delightful. Only downfall was the air con, it was a warm evening and it was needed.
Took our nephew for Sunday lunch. Loved the feel of the place and loved the set menu and not having to make any choices! Delicious sharing starters, roast lamb etc. Very friendly and efficient waiting staff
Amazing as always. Such a good restaurant!! The bone marrow is so good!!
Wondetful set menu
we have eaten here many times and it is always superb . The tasting menu is great value and the service is exceptional . Lucky to have it as our local !!
Great restaurant with great atmosphere
High top seating is uncomfortable, food was tepid, and not good value for money as the sizes too small. On the other hand, some of the dishes were really delicious, like the caramel chocolate dessert.
We chose The Dairy from The Good Food Guide. It is rated Cooking 6.
(We regularly eat at restaurants from this guide)
Our expectations were high but sadly the food did not measure up.
Our waitress was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, I think the customer service at the Dairy definitely needs some attention. Otherwise the food was great.
We love to dine at The Dairy. Every time we go there we bring some friends cause we are sure they will love it as we do. This time the food was good as usual and the service friendly and easy going. The only negative note is on the lack of ingredients of the menu. We arrived that was 20.30 and they already run out of 3 dishes of the menu. It was just surprising. But maybe was just a bad day.
The Dairy achieved a very fine combination of tastes and textures and unique compositions while being fresh and light yet satisfying. We were eating with friends who were vegetarian so our meal was perhaps less rich than if we had ordered meat dishes but we came away very happy and also feeling healthy. Also, their bread is absolutely to die for which is one of the ways we judge a restaurant. We enjoyed every dish but some of our favorites were the goat curd gougeres and our friends really liked the polenta with egg dish.
You can take advantage of the lunch offer or take the blow-out tasting menu option and you won’t be disappointed either way. Trust the staff’s pairing recommendations too, they know what they are doing.
The dairy never fails to disappoint with its changing seasonal menu of delicious ingredients beautifully cooked and presented. It has been a wonderful addition to the south London food scene and I will keep on going as long as it is there!
Really good service, food and atmosphere. And a bloody good playlist!
Sadly didn’t work for us, average service, average food, overpriced, confusing wine list of average wines
Great chilled midweek dinner, Connor our host was lovely!
The Dairy is one of our favourite spots for dinner so I thought we should try it for Brunch. Whilst the ambience and staff were as great as ever, I felt the selection available and pricing of the food was lacking compared to The Dairy's usual.
Great restaurant but the seats and tables are very low! so not so comfortable But food superb
Another lovely Saturday lunch sat at a high table looking out over the Common, working my way through one delicious small plate after another. A fine carafe of white washed it all down as I watched the world go by!
Exceptional food and the staff is extremely conscientious, friendly and helpful. My only (really the only) gripe is the music! Fortunately (for us) there were very few people there but had the restaurant been fuller the music would have made conversation difficult - and again fortunately for us we recognised most of the music played!! I’d still go back - again and again. Thank you.
Delicious food, service would be slightly more attentive but just picking at the edges as everything else was so good
£27 lunch was a great deal.
Most of the courses were great but there was one miss for me so can’t say 5 stars. Very fatty piece of beef - but luckily was full by then.
Would go back again for the lunch deal - great value. May not for dinner.
Amazing little gem. Really great find right in the heart of Clapham
Had amazing afternoon trying our tasting menu - every single dish had amazing layers of flavors and just amazing quality produce
Continues to serve intriguing and delicious flavour combinations. Food that promotes discussion and debate as well as oohs and ahhs.
Genuinely my favourite restaurant in London. I love everything about this place and most importantly the food here is incredible. My partner and I come here every year on our anniversary and I cannot wait to visit again. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you all.
