The Dairy Bar & Bistro
I love this place. Never lets me down. Great staff and delicious food.
Lovely food but quite expensive overall. Nice for a special occasion!!
As expected the food was incredible. The wines to accompany each dish were lovely as was the cocktail to start. Daniel our waiter was absolutely fantastic. He spoke so passionately about the food and especially the wines. Sadly, the female waitress who also served us was the polar opposite. She didn’t smile once and came off rather cold, which was a real shame given how amazing Daniel was.
Terrific service from Nathalia. Love the diary, first time there for brunch but am a regular for dinner and lunch.
Excellent Sunday lunch menu and top service. Would definitely recommend.
The Dairy is always excellent. Old favourites as well as delicious new additions to the menu.
Amazing, favourite place in Clapham. Beautiful food, great service.
Always fantastic service & a delicious experience - this time was no different. Thanks
Had the tasting menu which was delicious. Great service, food and wine and a cosy atmosphere.
Very good Food and Service in a confortable environment.
Amazing food, great value tasting menu, awesome wine recommendations!
great restaurant and friendly service. Not much more to add. Oh, great cocktails.
As always the Dairy is an all round wonderful experience. The food is the star, paired with an interesting and enjoyable wine list. The tasting menu is probably the best value tasting menu in town. A relaxed and comfortable ambience with attentive, friendly and knowledgable staff and what’s not to like, better still thoroughly enjoy
My husband and I had a wonderful evening in this lovely restaurant. The service was absolutely perfect from the moment we arrived, with the waiters explaining the menu in detail and talking about the various wines paired with our food. We had the pescatarian and vegetarian taster menus (also a vegan option which is good to know), and thoroughly enjoyed all dishes. We booked a high top table which I wondered if they would be similar to sitting at bar stools but the tables were very comfortable and comparable with the lower tables. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Thanks to Connor and team for a great evening!
Lovely food, great and attentive service and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone who likes good food.
Where to start?? fabulous service and absolutely brilliant food. We had the vegetarian tasting menu and we just could not get enough of the delicious dishes! Perhaps a little heavy on the carbs (pasta AND gnocchi..) that could be elevated by at least one fresher dish but the green tomato salad was more than welcome and refreshing. All highly satisfying and delightful - adorable and knowledgeable staff who never rushed us to leave or to eat... despite being the last clients in the restaurant at midnight!!
We will come back! thank you The Dairy Team!!
Fresh, interesting and delicious food, well presented
Delicious. There should be more options on the brunch menu though!
Loved it - great atmosphere, interesting flavours and excellent service. Will definitely be back :)
despite giving our dietary requirements and having no indication on the menu as such to the waitress three of four dishes we had, had meat in them.
They were barely apologetic and tried to put the blame on and then backtracked once they realised.
They also messed up our order and gave us one of our starters after our main.
Such a disappointment as we had been dying to try it.
Overall a very pleasant experience. Bread was REALLY good with bone marrow butter. Staff were friendly and accommodating to toddlers too.
We went here for Sunday lunch and unfortunately our experience wasn’t great. It was only on arriving that we were told we couldn’t order off the a la carte menu and had to have a three course meal, which ultimately cost everyone over £40. The quality of the food didn’t really seem to warrant that though the bread and butter is always a treat and the desert was lovely. We had quite an abrupt waitress who seemed rushed and a bit annoyed - at one point we asked for another side plate to share one of the starters and she angrily stated she wasn’t sure it would fit on the table even though there was plenty of room. The worst of it was that two separate people in our party found long hairs in their main courses which were well embedded in the food and another waitress seemed to imply it must be from one of our party and barely offered an apology or any kind of compensation. Overall though the restaurant looks lovely, the service really wasn’t good enough and made us uncomfortable and the quality of the food unfortunately wasn’t up to the cost.
Excellent food, buzzy atmosphere and great service, the ingredients for a good night out!
What a fabulous place to dine! The tasting menu was delicious and the service splendid. This is now my favourite place in Clapham! Will be back again soon!
The Dairy’s taster menu is a complete surprise and delight to your taste buds. The service is wonderful and the waiting staff are knowledgeable and passionate about the food they serve. Some of the best food in London without a doubt.
Flavors were incredible but all meals are indulgent, left feeling slightly ill from all the rich food.
Great meal - as always. Sunday lunch is great value and delicious.
Really tasty food, and reasonably priced for the quality.
Service was impeccable and drinks were good too.
Very nice place with good quality/cost ratio. Need to try lunch menu as brunch one was very average
We had the tasting menu- The food was ok, but for the price Chez Bruce down the road is 10 times better as is the service.
The main meal (beef) was chewy and almost impossible to cut and we sent it back, the chicken came out and was much better, but meant my friend whose birthday it was had finished her food alone by the time ours arrived.
The waitress was rushed and not very attentive.
We were sat next to the toilets which was not ideal.
I had noted it was my friends bday but they didn’t even wish her birthday, yet the table
Next to us were given a little desert with a candle and happy birthday written on the plate.
It was a nice evening but the food and service was very average when paying over £85 per head.
First we should say we did not choose the tasting menu and only bought one bottle of wine so it was incredible value. All the dishes were great (pork scratchings, potato tart, cheese on toast and fish). The only negatives were choosing too much cheese and they need to adapt the potato tart so it has more texture. Three of us chose the salted caramel pudding with the toasted chocolate grains and it was a bit too peculiar for my liking and incredible sweet. But would definitely go again - the waiting staff were really helpful but don't try to have a quiet conversation - bare walls mean there is an echo.
Service was a bit slow. Lovely food
Nice place and ambience but the tasting menu was very underwhelming. I’m not questioning the creativity or thought but there’s a lot to be said for keeping dishes and flavours simple and tasty.
Really wanted to like the Dairy. But service was slow and felt cold and perfunctory. Food was good but not great, especially considering the price.
Stunning food, great service, beautiful setting. Love this place x
This place has gone down hill since it opened. Where once the diner was taken on an imaginative culinarily journey featuring the best of British produce we now are obliged to feast on bread and overly fatty offerings of cheap cuts of meat. The home churned butter is still sublime but the poetry has left the building........along with balance nutritional value and the originality of the concept. In short - don’t bother.
The food was imaginative, beautifully presented and unwaveringly delicious.
A lot of squeals of delight and sharing forkfuls at our table.
Looking forward to a return visit.
Second visit as the first time we ate here we thought it was fabulous. The food this time was very disappointing and the waitress had a can't be bothered attitude. We booked for 3pm and ate whilst the restaurant packed up around us. Wont be returning or recommending again
The restaurant is in a great location on the Common, nice for a drink in the sun.
Our seating was a little dark (down the back) for a Summer Saturday lunch, it would have been nice to be near the window or outside if the weather was good.
The staff we friendly and helpful.
The set course menu was a good option, allowing us to try multiple small plates.
Unfortunately we didn't really enjoy the food. The ingredients and flavours were not quite what we were expecting based on reviews from friends therefore if I were to go again, I would opt for brunch.
Food was mostly good - though main courses were not great. Service was very slow and in some cases incompetent. 2.5 hours to get through the tasting menu - that seems a lot.
