The Dairy Bar & Bistro
Food was great, interesting and varied, great flavour mixes. The set Sunday lunch was perfect selection.
The ambience was nice, quirky plates and decoration.
The service was a bit slow however, we were there for over 2 hours. The table next to us arrived 40 minutes after us and they caught up with us in terms of when the different courses were coming out. Perhaps slow to get going on the lunch service. Also staff seemed stretched, we had to repeat requests for drinks and the bill.
Delicious food, especially the crispy potatoes. The service was a bit off and the door was repeatedly left open making it cold for diners inside.
The food was spectacular, staff super friendly and attentive. Love the vibe of the place, cool, special but not pretentious.
Took my niece and her new husband for brunch. A very leisurely, decadent time.
Service was good and attentive. Food was good but not exceptional. Wine was great but overpriced.
My favourite restaurant - great wine and food, would highly recommend!
Good food, but not worth the price. We were not explained the menu and ordered only ‘mains’ and then were advised that the meals were very small and we should order at least one more starter and 2 more sides each. Decided to add starters only as we were unsure and the waiter was condescending. 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 cocktails for £70. Nicely presented, tasted average.
Very pleasant restaurant with a good atmosphere. Overall the food was good although one guest had to send their brunch plate back to be reheated.
Superb food, great service. Quite pricey given the casual nature of the place.
Lovely food and staff, nice atmosphere and good value
Although, the service was a bit hectic and slow the food was exceptionally good. Well executed dishes presented in a professional manner. The only thing I will say about food, is that the individual dishes were very good but a set Sunday menu as a whole thing was a bit of balance, too rich, to heavy, will be nice to have some lighter dish in between or at least light fruity dessert at the end, perhaps with some acidic sorbet to cut all of the fatty food.
Will definitely be back to this unique restaurant.
We had a great Sunday lunch here. The fixed menu was great value for money and the food was faultless. The staff were very friendly and entertained our 9 month old baby.
I've just returned from another excellent evening at The Dairy. The place was buzzing all evening. We were given a warm welcome from the front of staff team, and were offered one of the nice tables with a great view of the open kitchen. The food is fresh, vegetables grown on-site, and the menu varied and flavoursome. Special thanks to Mike and Wesley looking after us, and to Ben and his team in the kitchen. Brilliant.
Need to do something about the door that everyone leaves open as they come in/leave. Service a bit slow; food before cutlery but great food.
Excellent food as always. Set lunch is great value. Delicious and inventive menu. Will be back!
Great food as always. Great value in the tasting menu
We love the dairy but sadly they are having some issues regarding communication. We arrived at 12.30 and were told we could only have brunch as lunch starts at 1, this happened to 2 other tables whilst we were there so it’s obviously a common issue.
This was eventually resolved but we had to move tables to bar seating to have lunch.
Service was manic to begin but settled down after a while. We’ll go back but sadly it was a pretty stressful meal and enjoyment was spoilt. We were going to go for the tasting menu but we’re glad we just opted for lunch.
Nice evening there for my wife’s birthday. Friendly and knowledgeable team, great ambience and nice food. Some exceptional and innovative dishes. Only downside really was that they started cleaning up around us, speeding things up and doing paperwork at the tables a bit prematurely. To be fair it was a Tuesday but 10pm seemed pretty soon to be shutting up shop.
The best place to eat in London (at least the best I have found). Outstanding food and great service - what else can you ask for??? I have been there several times and it delivers every single time! Can't wait to come back!
Nice informal room and great, locally sourced seasonal cooking. Had the 4 course lunch menu, plenty of highlights but the venison was especially good
As ever, really great food and excellent service. We had the tasting menu, which was good, although a too much/too rich for me. All the food was great though.
I love this restaurant! 4th visit. Outstanding food and lovely service.
They pack the tables in here but the very creative food is excellent, the service swift and on the whole this makes for a very good evening. Expensive? Yes well up to West End but better than most in that part of town.My only criticism would be a surprisingly poor wine list with very little choice and not a pinot noir to be seen!
Great food and service in lovely surroundings
Food is really nice, with different options ao suitable for different tastes and nicely presented. Quality of ingredients is great and have to highlight their bread! Wine list is good but quite small. Service is ok but it can be improved. They took away my empty glass of wine and didn’t ask if I wanted another one?! Is quiet and cozy, would be back!
Had the set menu.
Good food, reasonably priced and very helpful/friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and will go back
I keep coming back here and each time I do so, I'm left very glad to have returned.
Their agnolotti are excellent and their chestnut cake is divine. The bar by which I measure all other neighbourhood restaurants.
Lovely meal at the Dairy. We (me +wife) had the tasting menu + wine pairings. Excellent small plates that build to perfectly fill us up and a tremendous set of wine pairings that ran the gamut from traditional to interesting, encompassing sherry, champagne, old world and new. Not exactly a bargain but generally you get what you pay for and I wouldn't begrudge the Dairy one penny of their budget.
My girlfriend and I visit The Dairy every year for our anniversary, and it has never failed to disappoint. We usually end up spending about £75-80 each for the occasion, but we always walk away thinking "that was really, really worth it". The cocktails we've had are all equally inventive and delicious, and the food is prepared using fresh seasonal ingredients, locally sourced where possible. We have the taster menu every time, and everything about it screams quality; from the delightful little amuse-bouche, to the mouth-watering desserts, it's clear that the menu's creator really understands the ingredients and how to put them together.
Can't stress enough - this really is a place for foodies! It's not a cheap option by any means - you can get great food in London for 1/2 of the price - but as an anniversary treat, it really can't be bested. There are plenty of taster menus around london that are 3 times the price, and having sampled a few, I can say without hesitation that The Dairy ranks amongst the best.
To top all this off, the service is top-notch - everyone that handled our experience was friendly, inviting and helpful, and the lovely little 'happy anniversary' message was a lovely touch.
We will 100% be returning once again next year!
The team was spot on! Incredible service, discreet yet efficient and very helpful. Gorgeous food and really neat concise wine list.
Absolutely fantastic meal recently with a few colleagues. The lunch menu is one of the best I've ever had in terms of quality and value. Brilliant.
A fantastic evening. Delicious, creative and memorable tasting menu. The Dairy represents incredible value. Second time we've eaten here and we will certainly return again. A must-visit for foodies.
Great service, very helpful with recommendations and how the menu works.
For the first time, we didn't actually have the tasting menu. Had the Christmas lunch menu for a change of pace. A steal at £27.50 for 4 courses, given the quality. The Dairy remains my favourite restaurant in London. Not fussy, but oh so interesting and delicious. The cod cheek savoury profiteroles (not their actual name) were heavenly. The beef nuggets with mushroom were probably the weakest thing on the menu, but still very good so no complaints. A reasonably priced carafe of syrah/grenache washed it all down very nicely. We will certainly be back again, but first next door to Counter Culture, one of their other amazing sister restaurants. Robin Gill FTW!
Always a lovely treat. Staff is enthusiastic about the food. Lovely ingredients. Very good value for lunch.
Had a fantastic time at the Dairy, the food and wine was delicious and the service was impeccable. The only small issue was the staff endlessly going in and out of the front door (every 2-3 minutes), next to where we were sat, meaning we never really warmed up! But that was a small issue in what was otherwise a fantastic evening.
I (75 year old female) meet friends of all ages for meals and it always work well. Thanks chris x
Interesting food with new combinations and treatments which were delicious. The wine we chose exceeded already high expectations. Staff were friendly and attentive. Ambience was fine - might even be romantic. I recommend the Dairy and have already suggested it.
Amazing place - albeit the wines (excluding the expensive ones) aren’t amazing
The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. That was the overwhelming impression. The food is delicious and well cooked with interesting ingredients. Between us, we have almost the full gamut of food intolerances but, they were absolutely brilliant at accommodating us, adjusting or recommending as necessary.
