The Dairy Bar & Bistro
My fist time for brunch. A very original menu, from which we had the pork cheeks with potatoes, egg and greens and it was excellent.
I didn't understand half of the menu, not sure what I ate, but it was one of the best meals I ever had :)
It's a very original menu and I like their whole food philosophy, but given the wording of the food descriptions, we had to ask for explanations of quite a lot of it. We may be dummies, but we are customers!
I’ve been to the dairy before but this was a first time for Sunday lunch. As usual it was excellent. Food is always top quality and the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. For the level of food I found it great value too. I definitely recommend the Dairy!
We had the tasting menu and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was exceptionally good, all the waiters were very attentive, smiling and pleasant.
Would highly recommend The Dairy!
A nice venue and good staff. Unfortunately the food wasn't to my taste and the menu was quite restrictive. There was a lot of cheese and cream in most dishes and I had to send the monkfish back because it was incredibly salty.
Food and service was fantastic. The only slight downside was the drunk lady at the table next to us who kept spilling and breaking glasses
We absolutely loved our dinner, the food was exceptional and the restaurant had a great relaxed atmosphere!
Amazing food. Really adventurous choices, great local beer and a relaxed but buzzing atmosphere - Even on a Tuesday. I'd definitely go back.
The service was bang on and so was the food. they looked after the needs of my pregnant wife and I extremely well.
Food was amazing. The beef was sublime, but the roasted cabbage stole the show, which is something I never thought I would say as avid meat eater
Lovely Mother’s Day Meal, amazing food and great service. Good value for money!
Phenomenal food and service, always a joy to dine at the Dairy!
Delicious, inventive, perfectly cooked food in small portions, but enough. Attentive staff (though keen on the upsell). Bit noisy, so had to raise voice to speak (was a Saturday night though!), overall a really good restaurant.
Food is good but a Turkish egg brunch is one poached egg and carrots and veg. Very good but who serves one egg? Even in a normal breakfast two is the norm much less a significantly priced brunch dish. Disappointing!
Service was very slow but on the whole polite and trendy and good quality. Portion sizes guys!
We both had the braised beef cheek & crispy potatoes - delicious! The coffee was also 10/10
Great Mother’s Day brunch, fantastic tasty food and lovely friendly service.
Best local foodie spot in Streatham Hill!
Great atmosphere and food! Friendly staff.
The food was perfectly executed with impeccable timing.
Fresh produce, ingenuity, creativity is what's in your plate!
Will most definitely be back for more.
My fourth or fifth visit here so that should tell you how much I like it. Food as delicious as always, vibe still cosy and relaxed, service still friendly.
It was good but not blow your mind spectacular. The service however, was some of the best I have had in London.
This place is a bar and bistro with the prices of a Michellin starred restaurant. I thought it a right rip-off. And on top of this to add insult to injury the portions were SO small we were still hungry at the end. I did not like the pureed food which I thought had no texture and was like baby food. The wine price was astronomical. As was the whole meal particularly the pollock which is a cheap fish. I honestly would never go near this place again.
Absolutely fantastic lunch. Such great value for quality of food
Great place for Paddy’s Day Sunday lunch. Always great food and drink and an Irish twist to everything on the day!
Inconsistency across the courses, although overall a good experience. St. Patrick’s Day set menu, so that may have been the reason. Would go back to try à la carte.
I have to say that it was the worse place we have had brunch in a long time and we eat out a lot. I had the Jerusalam Artichoke which was so hard it was inedible, it was also very unseasoned. The cavelo Nero - was not present - it was substitued with cabbage - not the same.
Unfortunately my earl grey tea was served as green tea - twice. The waitress wasn’t exactly friend and with no thank you’s and please - not sure where she left her manners that morning.
I have been to the dairy for dinner before and it was lovely - so hence the brunch try. Worse decision and I’m afraid would never go back. Such a shame! It felt like it was trying hard to compete - but was massively falling short in every way! Hopefully it was just a bad chef that day and not their regular kitchen staff!
Great local restaurant. Good food and great service
Lovely plates meant for sharing but that may prove tricky if you have differing dietary requirements. So dishes were standout, the monkfish, others I wouldn’t reorder (the garlic mash) but on the whole tasty food, lovely presentation and helpful and humble staff. Fab gelato down the road if you don’t much fancy the stout flavour option on the menu!
Flavour and detail to food is very impressive . Slow service for a busy Friday night with lots of tables of 2 and one large table . We Had the tasting menu which was enjoyable but disappointed with service and time it took for the mains to arrive after waiting 30 mins between courses for a tasting menu this was very frustrating . Unfortunately my girlfriend had a problem with her pre dessert finding plastic from a piping bag end which was very off putting and very un professional lazy and unexpected from a classy team striving for a star . Will give it another go as have friends in the industry who love it but very disappointed with first vist !
First time we’ve been, and we thought it was great. Imaginative dishes really well executed, some interesting wines and drinks, relaxed vibe. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience. Loved it and would go back again in a heart beat
Amazing food in a cozy and informal setting. Loved it
Food not as good as expected, had quail that was very odd, totally undercooked - lukewarm and bloody - and cooked wrapped in some kind of cabbage leaf so the skin was flabby and moist. Not nice. Service was friendly but slow, we ordered a second bottle of red wine during dinner which never came. Finally the waitress asked if we had received it yet when our plates were empty, we said no - she went to check on it and said it was being chilled (?!) and if we still wanted it - of course we didn’t by that point. Not living up to the hype for me.
Innovative cooking and attentive knowledgeable staff. A restaurant with a good vibe, we would definitely come again and recommend to friends.
Went for brunch at The dairy. The food was great but was very much on the small side -1 slice of a small loaf of bread with some salmon and bit sliced and a boiled egg. Nowhere near enough.
Service was efficient, perhaps too efficient. It felt rather impersonal and a little begrudging.
Overall I’ll recommend but not on an empty tummy.
Fabulous inventive and creative food. We have the set menu every time we go, and it doesn't disappoint.
The Dairy is a favourite for lunch - I must go there for dinner one day. We had the tasting menu which was delicious (but quite a lot of food for lunchtime!)
Faultless service. Good food. Original menu. The only slight gripe is the lack of acoustic materials to dampen down the noise. It was hard to hear!
I have been to The Dairy on numerous occasions, the decal, the staff, the food, the everything never disappoints. All the staff are personable, the food so moreish, I just can't get enough. There was a mix up with my order and we did need to ask a couple of times for water but otherwise, it's probably one of my favourite places in London.
If you want some really food, I mean really good food, go no further than The Dairy on Clapham Common. I brought two foodie friends for lunch and we were all blown away with the tasting menu.
I can't praise The Dairy enough for the complete experience.
Had lunch with a friend. Really pleasant greeting on arrival.
The food was absolutely delicious. The bone marrow agnolotti is to die for! We also had monkfish and a lamb main course which melted in the mouth.
The atmosphere at the Dairy was relaxed and enjoyable.
Service was excellent. Would highly recommend.
The food was as wonderful as ever from the tasty little mouthfuls of ham croquette as a snack to the superb bone marrow agnoletti. The service was perfect. We love the Dairy but do find it a bit noisy. It is very popular and always full when we go but I also think the acoustics are poor and the noise echoes.
