It is a good place to meet and have a meal but three out of 4 ordered Spatchcock and we thought it was tasteless and very disappointing.
We enjoyed the very traditional setting of the room with white linen and impeccable service. The food were delicious and cakes to die for. A very good location to theatres.
I came here for dinner before a gig at Somerset House. It is a wonderful dining room, my baby octopus starter was delicious, and my sea bass main equally so.
The presentation and quality of food was outstanding! The special birthday cake was delicious and very thoughtful. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will recommend The Delaunay Afternoon Tea to friends. Although the head waiter was very kind and accommodating, we found the other staff to be somewhat cool and distant. Overall though, we were very happy. Thank you!
Excellent in every way
Great Food. Exceptional Service and such a Beautiful Setting
Met up with friends here for a pre-theatre drink and dinner.
Great menu, delicious food and exceptional service.
As always, wonderful food and immaculate service.
When the restaurant is full, it can be rather noisy.
It was a very nice restaurant would recommend but also a bit pricey for every day dining
Great service, good lunchtime meal, and as it was my wifes' birthday, a little recognition of gratis chocolates with the coffee..
I just love the Delauney - the brunch menu is excellent and very good value.
The tableware is elegant and the staff are efficient and friendly. It is not stuffy but you feel special there.
Wonderful experience for a traditional British cream tea. Looks like a French brasserie, with a charming menu to boot.
I booked The Delaunay because it is across the road from Tina The Musical, so in a great location.
The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The food was delicious, the ambience was perfect and the decor glamorous. Definitely worth 5 stars.
Always a good experience here. For a smarter night out The Delaunay never disappoints. Staff friendly and excellent food.
Delaunay never fails to deliver excellent service in a fine interior.
Delauney is the perfect restaurant to go to after the opera at Covent Garden. It never lets me down. The staff are charming and it’s my sort of food.
Excellent menu choices.Food was superbly cooked and presented. All the staff friendly professional and attentive. Superb choice of wines. We had a pretty theater meal and will go again.
Another excellent brunch at the Delaunay, with attention to detail and strong service from the waiting staff.
The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. The gentleman who served us was so kind to add another two places at our table and made everyone feel very at ease.
Once again we had an amazing experience, the our waitress was very good and nothing was to much trouble. We have been to the restaurant many times and never had a bad meal.
Brilliant. Amazing staff, great range of food and a real treat before the Tina musical show. Thanks for the perfect afternoon.
The usual warm welcome and friendly buzz on a return to the Delaunay for lunch with a friend. Service was good throughout but, although my friend's cod goujons were excellent, I was disappointed with my escalope veal holstein. It was not up to the usual excellent standard. It was dry and this killed a lot of the flavour.
We had incredible service and the food was delicious.
This was a birthday dinner and the restaurant was excellent in every respect. Food, service, ambience and quality all first class. Best of all - NO MUSIC. One of the few restaurants in which one can hold an actual conversation instead of shouting over music (so-called). I can not recommend Delaunay highly enough. The food is delicious and creative, linen napery, silver tableware and top quality waiting staff. A really memorable experience and I will return many times to this and the others in the group - Wolseley and Fischers.
I love this place. The food and service is incredible.
Always first class food & service, good range of wines & drinks coupled with a great atmosphere
We were visiting at the suggestion of a friend. We had eaten, many times, at The Wolsey and discovered this was a sister restaurant of the aforementioned.
The further co-incidence was that we were going to see a matinee performance of "Tina" and Restaurant was nearly a 10 yard walk from the theatre! Wonderfully convenient combined with excellent food and drink with great hosting.
Beautiful old world setting. Excellent food. Charming service. A little more expensive than a regular place for breakfast, but the extras more than make up for it.
Great to have finally visited as had heard great things - and wasn't disappointed. Really lovely welcome and nice relaxed dining 'away from the world'
Went to The Delaunay for a pre-theatre meal as it was next door to where Tina the musical is playing which is out of this world! I was pleasantly surprised by The Delaunay; the food was really good and the service was outstanding. I would definitely return.
Delicious & different vegetarian menu - chosen even though I’m not a vegetarian!
Service faultless from start to finish.
Delaunay never fails to disappoint- consistently good food, attractively presented by attentive but not intrusive wait staff. It has become our ‘Go To’ restaurant whenever we are in London.
Lovely schnitzel strudel and Black Forest gateau good service not bad wine list
Have gone here several times for breakfast. Love the buzzy atmosphere and the extensive menu. Service is quick and friendly. But was a bit disappointed by the avocado and poached egg on toast. The toast was so hard we could barely cut it and at one point the egg and avocado went flying! Otherwise loved the place.
We had a really lovely pre-theatre meal. The service was attentive, but relaxed, and the venue is lovely olde world elegance! This will be our regular pre-theatre hot-spot now!l
As a venue for a surprise birthday treat, part of a theatre trip, The Delauney was just a perfect oasis of refined calm on a hectic Saturday featuring a royal wedding and a cup final.
Excellent, as always. Attentive and professional staff, great food, spot-on cocktails.
Excellent restaurant, service, food, wine and the overall ambience was brilliant. We were going to see Tina next door at the Aldwych so it’s location was perfect.
The perfect place for a great Sunday brunch with friends visiting from out of town. The food, the ambience, the service - absolutely everything was right. Would recommend without hesitation.
We booked late but they still found us a table on a busy Saturday night. Service was excellent as was the food. Would go again without any hesitation
Great location for Covent Garden and the Theatres after and before the shows
