What Insiders Are Saying
The Delaunay is the restaurant you want to be in when you just want to feel good. Sit in the amazing dining room or hit the cafe for a quick one.
lovely food . great service..a little noisy if you want to chat
As always a delicious meal, excellent wine and superb service.
Thank you SO much for looking after me so well while I waited for my friend to turn up (and sincere apologies again for his lateness !)
I always recommend you and shall continue to do so in the future.
Felt comfortable in the surroundings, food was excellent and service amazing
Very good for a business lunch ( 50 characters .....)
Outstanding, pretty and cosy. A friend strongly recommended it for my mom's birthday.
Lovely meal in a beautiful restaurant. Great service and the food was delicious
The speciality dish,Wiener schnitzel, was poor- tough meat and lacking in flavour. Plaice goujons and vegetables were good.
Buzzy atmosphere but very busy ( Sunday lunch)
Overall quite expensive for what it was.
Always a delight to dine at Delauney. Top tip: Martinis are really excellent.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch with a friend. The service was excellent and the large restaurant is beautiful with a wonderful ambiance. It has the “wow” factor! Meal was very good. Octopus Carpaccio followed by Seafood Paprikash, both delicious. Will definitely be visiting again.
Energetic business like atmosphere, busy but very much able to engage in intimate conversation. Fantastic food, and service. A super wine selection albeit a little pricey
Octopus starter was very salty and Wiener Schnitzel was tough and chewy. Otherwise good food. Smart venue with good ambience. Friendly and efficient service.
Fabulous food and great service right in the centre of theatre land. What could be better. Fantastic cocktails too 😊 Yummy Raspberrytini
Excellent pre-theatre meal
I adore the Delaunay. Great food and wonderful service. Everything is just perfect. I have been lots of times and only ever had a brilliant time.
Love coming here, though wish they would include chopped liver as a starter like the Wolsey!. This time brought a friend - her first visit and she loved it! Great table linen and also the fact that you, together with the Wolsey, always show people the wine when only having a glass (this time the Mercuery which was gorgeous). Excellent staff - thank uyou all.
Great location for Aldwych Theatre pre dinner. Large Brasserie style setting and noise level (though not intrusive on table conversation). Food menu varied with good vegetarian options. Good wine list. Attentive staff.
Great food as always!
I've always enjoyed this place - a great location, very good menu and brilliant ambience... can't recommend it highly enough.
Great Room, Style without trying to be fancy. Great after theatre food
Wonderful food in an exciting environment. Prices are reasonable for the excellent quality of the cuisine, and that also extends to the wine list, which is full of interesting choices that include Austria and Germany besides the normal French, Italian, etc. whites, rosés and reds. A favorite of ours, we always return to it when we visit London and it never disappoints.
One of our party was quite late and the staff were utterly delightful. Lunch menu was interesting, food excellent, service was swift and unobtrusive, coffee was good too. Will go again.
great service, portions too big. waiters and servers were terrific
Great ambiance and food , but waiter was very unfriendly and spoilt the lunch. Considering the service charge plus cover charge the waiter could at least try!
Excellent service as usual and a good menu selection. Not the best value , especially the wine list, in the West End but consistently reliable and worth a visit.
The restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere and a continental feel. It is elegant and buzzes with happy noise. The service is a heart-warming blend of efficiency, deference and friendliness. The menu avoids any modern silliness and the food is, in the main, good traditional fare, although the ambience is the main draw,
As always, an excellent experience. Service, food, wines and atmosphere always contribute to make dining at The Delauney feel like a special occasion.
Perfect breakfast spot, when in London I believe it’s a must try! I order fruits Ofcourse lol! And Potato Rosti with fried eggs, bagel with cream cheese and carrot with ginger to drink. Loved it all
Thoroughly enjoy the food, ambiance and the wonderful silverware that everything is served with. Service is always good and food very tasty with generous portions. Will return for sure!
Always reliable and efficient. A good choice of food and wine. Excellent for pre theatre suppers and brunches.
We met for lunch with some "Foodie" friends and were not disappointed by the Delauney. Nice wine and very enjoyable meals. Too full for dessert sadly! Excellent service and careful concern for our various food-related issues, thank you
Excellent food and service and wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended.
A most enjoyable evening we try a different restaurant every time we come to London and we
Shall certainly return to the Delaunay.
I like the ambience of this restaurant and have been there on several occasions at different times of day. Only negative is that I don’t like being in a party of 3 and being seated at what is in reality a table for 2.
Loved this place so much. Firstly, my friend and I were greeted with a lovely warm welcome at reception. My friend brought her son, and they gave him colouring paper and crayons. I had eggs arlington and pancakes (apple / rhubarb), the food was ridiculously good. We had a few people serving us throughout our brunch. One lady was excellent. The other lady's service was good, however she had a really bad attitude and didn't smile at all. This put a bit of a dampner on our experience. This aside, a lovely setting with delicious food. I can't wait to go back again.
60th Birthday after theatre dinner
The Delaunay is my favourite restaurant in London. Delicious food and good service.
It was my birthday and my wife and I were made very welcome on our arrival.
The food and service was excellent and we had a super experience
Fabulous afternoon tea, at an amazing price. Lovely gluten free options for my sister in law who really felt she wasn’t missing out on anything! Go for the glass of champagne to make it even more special
As always great service and good food. The Viennese Breakfast was particularly good. Perfect spot for an early morning business breakfast.
It is a good place to meet and have a meal but three out of 4 ordered Spatchcock and we thought it was tasteless and very disappointing.
