What Insiders Are Saying
The Delaunay is the restaurant you want to be in when you just want to feel good. Sit in the amazing dining room or hit the cafe for a quick one.
Arrived just after 12 noon to find the place buzzing. We had a table reserved so that was good. The meal was superb. The service was superb & the champagne was also superb!
Beautiful place to have lunch.
Lovely hideaway in the heart of London. Nice atmosphere- even when full you can still hear yourself think. And enjoy a lovely brunch.
Service superb, old fashioned courtesy and efficiency, spot on. Food very good, an ideal place to eat before opera at the London Coliseum. Not cheap, but wine in 500ml carafes helps, and if you wanted to be economical, that would be possible with careful choices. (And the loos are great too!)
Excellent service & food
Excellent place, very professional. Very good food and ambiance. Very helpful staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner before the show. The ambiance is beautiful, old world elegant. The service impeccable and fast. Great selection of wines as well as by the glass options. We will be back!
Excellent as always - my favourite brunch place.
Large bright comfortable seating area. Impeccable service. Starters: my wife sad the oysters were good; I loved my avocado quinoa salad. My son’s steak was spot on and his beau said that the mushroom stroganoff was good, but my cassoulet was meh (bit sinewy and bland). The desserts were disappointing all round. The wine choice was interesting and our choice (a Hungarian red ) was almost spectacular once it had time to open up.
Delicious food as ever; prompt service and good coffee!
An excellent restaurant, particularly for theatre-goers and for business. Busy, as you would expect for this location and a reservation beforehand pretty much essential; slightly disappointed to be told our ‘slot’ was up after 90mins but at least we were told politely! Nevertheless - would definitely recommend to others
All perfect, not cheap though.
Enjoyed an excellent pre theatre meal. delicious food arrived promptly ad service was very good.
Enjoyed a very nice brunch at The Delaunay. Staff were extremely pleasant and the food was excellent. Coffee was well made. The complimentary cake to mark our anniversary occasion was appreciated. One of our party members was gluten free, my only area for improvement would be that staff take a bit more time to address gluten free options with customers. Of the two staff members she spoke to regarding options, they basically just said 'minus any gluten free items from the meal and then that's how it will come'. Not very helpful. Some gluten free bread would be a welcome addition at brunch also.
Nice Frenchy restaurant with Exelent welcome and service. Acording to food which we order a starter (prawne cocktail and mashrom soup) were amazing however main cours ( Viener shnicel) no season and under cook...price for this kind of restaurant acceptable
All the food was great, but the schnitzel was way way too salty, which was a shame given its prominence in the menu
Excellent post matinee meal. Pleasantly surprised.
Lovely post matinee meal - food was delicious, the atmosphere was lovely and staff were very helpful and efficient.
I liked the new winter menu - especially the lamb cassoulet!
An excellent restaurant.
Great atmosphere, staff were friendly and very attentive. Would be happy to go back.
Another lovely meal, and they added a happy birthday message in chocolate to my friend’s dessert, which was a really nice touch. We also enjoyed the Austrian red wine - not often seen outside the country.
Good food and exceptional service making family feel very comfortable and welcome.
Sort of Wolseley lite, nice room and great service. But the menu was a bit weird, we all chose the same starters as nothing looked that appealing. Good choice of main courses especially fish, food was “okay”. Desserts, not that good.
It’s sort of alright, nothing really bad to report. But would I return? Probably not!
It was fine but it’s not the Langham
Always good - will keep on returning. Good food and service
Great Lunch and Atmosphere albeit drinks are expensive. Would recommend
The place seemed quite nice, pretty easy going for a Sunday lunch. Probably catering towards the more elderly but there were some families as well. Wouldn’t recommend the ambience for a young couple. But I didn’t mind.
However, in the middle of ordering, We were asked to move tables. We moved, but then the waiter didn’t complete the order but disappeared.
Therefore we were waiting a long time to get served.
When the food did arrive, it was decent but was spoiled when the waiter poured water all over it.
We were not offered new food nor was the meal deducted from the bill which I think equates to poor service.
The Delaunay is always reliable. Great food, a very interesting wine list and a most professional service. Many time you catch a glimpse of three or four theater, film or television celebrities, so the people watching adds to the overall good experience
Love the Delaunay. It's cosy and romantic, the food is delicious, and the wine list excellent.
Food & service was impeccable. A brilliant find I cannot believe I have not visited before & will most certainly be going back. Not sure 5stars is enough
Second visit in two weeks, great service and food, worth a visit
Have eaten a number of times at the Delaunay and the service, food and ambiance has always been the highest standard.
First visit, nice atmosphere and good service, didn’t have a great table. Food was ok. Everything was good enough to make me want to return which is the point.
Excellent as always
Great food and lovely decor
The food is so delicious and very big portion, really enjoyed the smoothies, best I have ever had.
Excellent food and service. We loved the Wiener Schnitzel and the Kaiserschmarren in particular. We will definitely be back!
Great service, delicious food.
As always, a super meal. Very efficient service too. Recommened.
