Was an excellent meal. So good that I couldn't finish it all! They made our anniversary very special. I will visit next time I'm in London.
I love this restaurant! From the moment you are greeted by the lovely Luca it is a sublime experience. The room is gorgeous, great service and the food is excellent.
Wonderful Christmas atmosphere in a place that balances tradition with a lively atmosphere. The starters were outstanding, but some of our main courses did not land very well. E.g. the Duck Confit was on an overpowering tomato base with strongly flavoured sausages that overpowered the duck. Make sure you like the German kitchen before you go.
A perfect Friday treat evening! Gorgeous food and drinks (I had the trout and my boyfriend had a wurst with potato salad, both excellent), really nice service - friendly and the right amount of attentiveness, without being pushy or too in-your-face, and we didn’t feel at all rushed even though the restaurant was very busy. And all in a lovely old-fashioned setting; proper foodie escapism, loved it :)
One of my favourite restaurants in London with fantastic service and a beautiful menu.
Perfect for pre or post teathre
We are going to The Delaunay every year for our Anniversary.
We have been welcomed by a great member of the staff and we have been looked after by a nice Maître D’. His good manners have been spotted and appreciated.
I would definitely recommend the Delaunay to anyone looking for a great moment and to experience the pleasure to be spoiled.
PS: please look at the freshness of the scones ;)
Lovely spot for afternoon tea. Food is delicious and our waitress was adorable
The Delaunay is our favourite place for breakfast in London. Once again, it did not disappoint with great food and service.
We really must try it later in the day too!
Enjoy dining at Delaunay. Food is somewhat predictable middle European but of high quality. Service excellent. Medium price. It is very noisy but if can you bear it - it’s always fun to eat there.
Jamie King is the king if it's about how to run a restaurant
So pleased a friend told me about this place. Great food and decor. Super staff.
Wonderful as always.
Menu is quite conventional, but each dish was prepared carefully and to a high standard. We need more of these places
As always it’s the service - like “I will send the head waiter over to take your order” that made this visit so good. If you’ve not been before, the schnitzels are a good bet.
Excellent venue, great food, great service! Thank you.
We really enjoyed our anniversary night at the Delaunay. Members of staff went the extra mile to accommodate us. Food was excellent, portions generous. We loved the experience and the atmosphere and will definitely be back.
I have eaten at the Delauney many times and the food, service and ambience is always first class.
I would highly recommend the Black Forest gateau which I had for the first time and most certainly will
have again when I return in a couple of weeks.
Great food. A bit slow on service.
A firm fab for breakfast. Good food and quick for business meals
Elegant buzzy dining room, oysters, wine, schnitzel more wine followed by coffee and brandy facilitated by slick service, what’s not to like. Shame about the absence of the Delaunay monogrammed hot breadsticks, but simple hut crusty baguette is an acceptable substitution.
Lovely lunch catching up with a friend. Service was excellent not too rushed, restaurant was busy but our service was steady, the food was excellent and we were not rushed out of the door! A lovely ambiance with attentive staff. What more could you want.
Theatre with our teenagers.
Great place for dinner in the area.
Great service and excellent food. We went pre theatre( the Aldwych is directly across the road) had the borscht and confit duck. My wife had scallops. All were excellent.
Very good but not over attentive service and the atmosphere was relaxed and reminiscent of grand cafes in Europe.
A great place for meeting a colleague from the USA. He loved it.
Always outstanding in every category. Only thing was it was VERY noisy, but it’s Friday night in the west-end in a very popular restaurant so it’s to be expected. Although I was surprised as I’ve not heard it that noisy before.
Service a bit slow. One waitress for many tables. All the rest very good.
Buzzy place for a nice evening out. Food and service is reliable.
We came here the last time we were in London 3 years ago and came back again!
Lovely buzzy spot, yummy food. Took a while to be served initial drinks and considering we were early for booking we went over our time slot and were (very politely) asked to move due to next sitting but considering there was only two speedy eaters, we wouldn’t have needed to be moved if initial service was quicker.
This is a buzzy atmospheric place for a comforting lunch or brunch with friends or family. Good for larger groups as well as smaller ones. Feels glamorous but the prices are wholly reasonable and the service brisk and attentive.
First time dining here and I loved it. The service is very good and very attentive waiters, they know there food and wines. Will come back
A good place to meet with friends to catch up. Tables are far enough apart to not have to listen to other conversations. Lovely Austrian food and great service.
We were delighted to find The Delaunay which felt more like a Continental European Brasserie than a casual London restaurant. We needed something with good food, especially interesting vegetarian options, where we could chat easily to our son who was catching a train back to Scotland late on a Sunday evening. Service was charming yet professional. Only downside was the noise level, even though the tables were spaced well apart.
Went for an early dinner before meeting friends later.
The room was very busy with pre theatre diners so had very upbeat ambience.
The service however was impeccable with no sign of how busy they were.
The food was top quality and the bill reasonable, overall a very good dining experience which we will definitely repeat
Excellent service and a warm greeting on arrival. We had a pleasant table and enjoyed a delicious, beautifully cooked and presented meal.
Boyfriends birthday.. was fabulous..
I enjoy The Delaunay. Good food and atmosphere, although quite noisy as most restaurants are these days due to lack of soft furnishings. My kedgeree was delicious.
They very helpfully changed my table for 3 to a table for 4 at very short notice. Well done and thanks.
My favourite restaurant in London. Great food, great service and always a warm welcome. Home from home and thoroughly recommended.
