Great service and excellent food. We went pre theatre( the Aldwych is directly across the road) had the borscht and confit duck. My wife had scallops. All were excellent.
Very good but not over attentive service and the atmosphere was relaxed and reminiscent of grand cafes in Europe.
A great place for meeting a colleague from the USA. He loved it.
Always outstanding in every category. Only thing was it was VERY noisy, but it’s Friday night in the west-end in a very popular restaurant so it’s to be expected. Although I was surprised as I’ve not heard it that noisy before.
Service a bit slow. One waitress for many tables. All the rest very good.
Buzzy place for a nice evening out. Food and service is reliable.
We came here the last time we were in London 3 years ago and came back again!
Lovely buzzy spot, yummy food. Took a while to be served initial drinks and considering we were early for booking we went over our time slot and were (very politely) asked to move due to next sitting but considering there was only two speedy eaters, we wouldn’t have needed to be moved if initial service was quicker.
This is a buzzy atmospheric place for a comforting lunch or brunch with friends or family. Good for larger groups as well as smaller ones. Feels glamorous but the prices are wholly reasonable and the service brisk and attentive.
First time dining here and I loved it. The service is very good and very attentive waiters, they know there food and wines. Will come back
A good place to meet with friends to catch up. Tables are far enough apart to not have to listen to other conversations. Lovely Austrian food and great service.
We were delighted to find The Delaunay which felt more like a Continental European Brasserie than a casual London restaurant. We needed something with good food, especially interesting vegetarian options, where we could chat easily to our son who was catching a train back to Scotland late on a Sunday evening. Service was charming yet professional. Only downside was the noise level, even though the tables were spaced well apart.
Went for an early dinner before meeting friends later.
The room was very busy with pre theatre diners so had very upbeat ambience.
The service however was impeccable with no sign of how busy they were.
The food was top quality and the bill reasonable, overall a very good dining experience which we will definitely repeat
Excellent service and a warm greeting on arrival. We had a pleasant table and enjoyed a delicious, beautifully cooked and presented meal.
Boyfriends birthday.. was fabulous..
I enjoy The Delaunay. Good food and atmosphere, although quite noisy as most restaurants are these days due to lack of soft furnishings. My kedgeree was delicious.
They very helpfully changed my table for 3 to a table for 4 at very short notice. Well done and thanks.
My favourite restaurant in London. Great food, great service and always a warm welcome. Home from home and thoroughly recommended.
Good food with many veggie options and a cheesecake to die for
We regularly visit The Delaunay.
Great food and very good vegetarian menu too.
Staff seemed very unsure of the wheat and gluten content of certain foods - concerning given the recent high profile tragedies!
Otherwise a great experience
Delicious Sunday brunch, weather your in the restaurant or cafe. Idiotic place
As always, an all around terrific evening in one of London’s great dining rooms.
Great place to catch up with friends, buzzy atmosphere, excellent food and service, easy to chat as not too noisy.
consistently a great restaurant with delicious food and fantastic ambience. Very convenient for theatre. Wonderful for friends gathering and a varied, interesting and wonderful menu. I love it.
Excellent meal at the Delaunay. The staff were brilliant and the atmosphere spot on. I had the native lobster cocktail followed by some wursten and my girlfriend had the delicious chicken noodle soup followed by a Wiener schnitzel. Lovely food and great service as usual. We were provided with a truffle treat for my girlfriend’s birthday. This trip cemented the Delaunay as one of my favourite restaurants in London. Thank you.
Quality of food is always consistent and of high quality. Oysters were excellent! Service started out well but as evening went on it deteriorated quite rapidly as if nobody suddenly was I. Charge of our table.
MAKES SUCH A DIFFERENCE WHEN THEY GIVE YOU A LOVELY, COSY TABLE FOR 2 LOOKING DOWN TOWARDS THE WHOLE DINING ROOM. LOVELY TARTES FOR STARTERS - ONE VEGGIE AND ONE BACON. MY LOBSTER ROLL WAS GORGEOUS, WITH FRESH WHIT MEAT, JUST ENOUGH DRESSING AND A SOFT BUN. MY FRIEND'S VEGGIE BURGER WAS GOOD, BUT TOO FILLING SHE SAID. WE SHARED AND APPLE AND APRICOT CRUMBLE FOR PUDDING - I WOULD HAVE LIKED MORE CUSTARD (PLEASE!). THE SERVICE IS ALWAYS DISCREET AND EFFICIENT. THEY NEVER GET ANY ORDERS WRONG AND THEY DON'T CHECK WITH YOU TEN TIMES WHETHER 'EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT' - SO ANNOYING IN OTHER ESTABLISHMENTS. WE FELT NO PRESSURE TO LEAVE AFTER 2 HOURS AND WERE JUST ALLOWED TO SIT QUIETLY TO FINISH OUR DRINKS. KEEP UP THE STANDARD! THE DELAUNAY IS SO MUCH BETTER AT FOOD AND SERVICE THAN BELLANGER IN ISINGTON.
Loved my afternoon tea experience in The Delaunay. The scones and clotted cream were really good; the other food selections were yum and the teas were flavorful. Our server was attentive and friendly. I would recommend this place and look forward to returning on my next trip to London. Thank you!
Good, swift service and tasty food. Would recommend.
Excellent quality comfort food, fairly priced for quality and location, service was professional and on the slow side rather than exceptional
Love it here! Such a wonderful place and always best place to treat a special person!
Excellent tea- food was delicious, service was warm, friendly and attentive and the setting elegant.
Actually enjoyed this more than our recent afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason which was more than double the price. Highly recommend.
In my opinion, The Delaunay serves the best Full English breakfast in town.
The Delaunay never disappoints!
I love The Delaunay. I have been before for lunch when on business trips. This visit was a pre theatre (matinee) lunch with my 10 year old daughter. It didn’t disappoint. The ambiance is wonderful (think English brasserie) the wait staff accommodating and the food delicious.
First time at The Delaunay and it was fantastic. It was recommended by my nephew and I'm glad he did.
Great food, impeccably served in a lovely setting.
The escalope holstein was particularly good.
One of the best for anytime of the day or evening
Wonderful service, lovely food, great atmosphere, wide choice of desserts - a really great place for a nice meal which feels a bit special, but not too formal.
Excellent !! Can get noisy during busy periods, we did struggle at times to hear each other. But honestly, I love this place, it is brilliant... :-)
