What Insiders Are Saying
The Delaunay is the restaurant you want to be in when you just want to feel good. Sit in the amazing dining room or hit the cafe for a quick one.
We all found the spongy bench seats a bit awkward and uncomfortable. But apart form that, it was a perfectly pleasant dinner experience.
Amazing food and impeccable service
Lovely restaurant with classy decor and amazing service! Highly recommended for any occasion.
The food was fantastic, the waiters were lovely and the hosts were very elegant and professional.
Thank you ♥️
Very warm and friendly hospitality, excellent food, allergy alternatives, good atmosphere and best Schnitzel in town
This was our first visit to The Delaunay. We had several friends recommend it to us as a place "we would love!" They were right! Great service, really good food! We will be back!
Went for breakfast ! Staff are lovely. Thank you
Not a great spot if you want a quick lunch. Booking was 1:30pm was sat at 1:40pm another 10 minutes to order. Food was excellent and came out in good time but the lunch was rushed and not the best first time experience there.
Quaint excellent service in beautiful surroundings always welcoming and polite a must for central London
Lovely as always. Bit quieter than usual and slightly less buzzy, but it was early ish and the summer holidays so perhaps expected.
Our favourite restaurant in London.
As ever a great lunch!
Was seated in a booth which was perfect for four people. Service was prompt and courteous and as it was Sunday, we had to have the roast beef which was cooked as requested with a huge Yorkshire pudding. The horseradish condiment was a perfect accompaniment and the extra jus went down very well. Unfortunately we were too full to try the desserts which were beautifully presented on the dessert table on our way in.
What a great dinner we had. Wonderful service and fabulous food. Highly recommended !
Breakfast place with good options
Delaunay... a class act
Always a joy,
Service was not as expected. Seated there 10 mins without a menu, then another 10 mins nobody asked if we were ready to order. Very noisy and very hard to get any waiter/waitress attention while we were there. Almost ignored. Food was okay but far from delicious, not value for money...
Wonderful tea service!
We went for a bite before the theatre. Very nice atmosphere and staff
We were VERY dusappointed - we visit here quite regulary as we are always going to the theatre and like to eat at The Delaunay but this time we were really disappointed!! The food took FOREVER (we only had mains) and then when the bill came we asked what the £4.00 cover charge was and the waiter tells us "its for the tablecloths and things" !!!! We were utterly chocked and possible had one of the worst experiences ever there. We will not be returning!
Delicious food in just the right amounts. Great service: attentive but unobtrusive. Went for lunch and stayed far longer. Class.
Excellent food and service. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great restaurant in every way.
Good service and able to hold a sensible discussion over breakfast. Ambience was great and service discreet and unobtrusive.
Staff are really friendly and helpful, food not bad. Only issue is the noise level when the restaurant is full.
A great place for a celebration! We enjoyed celebrating our friend’s special birthday with good food, good wines and good service.
As ever always reliable and great central place to eat
A very nice brunch experience with friends on the day of arrival in London! Highly recommended!
Fabulous ambiance. Great food, and staff. Special
Excellent food and service 👍🏻👍🏻
Perfection Great room. Great ambience.
Mi experiencia con el afternoon tea fué altamente positiva. Calidad ( scones deliciosos) cantidad, servicio y relación calidad/precio. Volveré sin duda
Great food. Excellent service. Very good ambiance.
As always, the Delaunay is now my default choice for lunch with friends and business colleagues. The menu is just what I want - mainstream food with a wide choice and in particular, excellent seafood and favourites such as kedgeree and sea trout. Excellent wine list with some really interesting wines (excellent Riesling).
As usual. a most enjoyable meal in an relaxing environment.
Fairly disappointed by a £2 per person "brunch" charge, next to the general 12.5% service charge. When asking for the reasoning behind this £2 charge, the explanation was rather vague and did not make any sense ("This will allow us to keep the overview within the restaurant for the people who enjoy our brunch and to rectify the price of the menu"). In my opinion, there is no balance between the service charge/tip (£ 4.50 p.p) and the actual cost of the dish ~£10. The waitress deducted the service charge, but it still left a bittersweet feeling behind. Why would you charge 12.5% service over the brunch charge. That is tip on top of tip. Ridiculous!
Absolutely loved it! Perfect from the start. Great service, delicious food and very welcoming. Also not forgetting the smiley door man! We will definitely be back.
Very good pre-thetre meal. Reception welcomed us and we were sat immediately. Professional and consistent service and the food was excellent. It is a large room and a bit loud. Perfect location.
