The Dirty Habit is a beautiful 13th Century pub situated in the picturesque Kentish village of Hollingbourne. Set on The Pilgrims Way in a designated area of natural beauty, with many walks and bike rides from the pub, it has been used by pilgrims on their way to Canterbury for centuries. It is reputed that King James II stayed at the inn whilst on his way to France via Canterbury and Dover. We offer a varied selection of freshly prepared food all day every day, both traditional English as well as continental specialties using local suppliers whenever possible to support the local farming community. For those special occasions we can offer a private dining service in a beautiful period room 'The Monks Corner' with oak beams to the apex and an inglenook fireplace to set it all off.

Great little pub with fabulous food and selection of drinks, our favourite new place to go and take friends and family, highly recommend
Had a great roast dinner here. Unfortunately had run out of a couple of roasts but that was understandable as it was late in the day.
Food and service was good. We will be coming back and also planning to visiting some of they're other pubs.
Really lovely meal, always very welcoming and great atmosphere
We enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Desserts were very good. Service was excellent - relaxed and good humoured. Parking was a bit of a problem because of popularity but we managed to park on the road.
Excellent all round as usual. Food was perfect
Second visit her for Sunday lunch - food very good as was service. Will go again.
Excellent food and service in a beautiful location. Definitely would return.
Was very disappointed in the evening, I booked a table for 7:30 didn't get seated until gone 8pm. Once seated our menus took ages to be brought over to us. Almost felt like we were just left in the corner. The food was okay but we were all past it after our food finally came along about 9:15pm. Had booked the table for a double birthday but was very disappointed.
Another great evening spent at the dirty Habit. Food and service were great as usual.
The food is always amazing here and very friendly staff too. It was a very busy night and the service was a little slow but staff were very apologetic about this. I can thoroughly recommend this pub.
Bar staff and waiters were fantastic food was good a little bland at times That being said I will return
The staff were really attentive and helpful. The food and service was outstanding and I’d highly recommend a visit. I’ll definitely be back again!!! Thank you
Warm welcome and good variety of food. Busy night so service was not as spot on as usual. Still had a great night.
I couldn’t fault this place even a little, everything was absolutely perfect.
Food is incredible, waiters are polite and friendly, service was quick considering the occasion and the atmosphere was lovely.
Probably the best meal I’ve had in years, I would recommend in a heartbeat.
We had a pleasant meal at The Dirty Habit. The Roast Beef was tender and pink with really good roast potatoes and vegetables with home made Yorkshire puddings. The lobster with homemade rainbow coleslaw and chips was good. We all enjoyed our puddings. Coffee was very good.
Service and food brilliant, who could ask for more. To make it perfect, we had asked if we could be sat in the dining room, but a table overran so we couldn’t, other than that a brilliant meal
Always love it here! I had the vegan roast which was lovely (always ask for extra gravy). Everyone loved the food and the boys had desserts they said were delicious too. Service always great, helpful and friendly. Always come here because of the dog friendly policy- there was almost a dog to every table it was so fun! Highly recommend this place!!
Delicious Sunday roast - perfectly cooked and tender beef !
Gorgeous meal, set in a lovely restaurant. We were a party of 12 and they catered for us very well.
This cosy pub lives up to it's reputation for good food and a friendly welcome.
The tandoori chicken skewers were delicious and baked camembert made for a lovely rich starter.
Service was prompt and friendly throughout, we'll definitely be back again soon.
Very attentive great service and food was sooo good!
Good food. Nice pub.
Lovely pub with nice for. Very accommodating to children, lovely staff.
Amazing food, good flavours & reasonable size portions. Staff very helpful & professional, waiting time for food very good.
The Dirty Habit was ideal for my family get-together. Teenage girls found the menu excellent . Their mother had a choice of vegetarian dishes and I thought the Beer selection was perfect.
Great evening, great food and great company.
2nd time here and as good as the 1st time
excellent food and venue.
A must visit, Beautiful old pub, warm inviting and run by people who care
My boyfriend and I have tried the other restaurants in the Elite Pubs chain (and loved them) so we fancied trying The Dirty Habit. It was amazing! The food, atmosphere, drinks and our waitress Lucy(?) were excellent. I’d definitely recommend it!
Another GREAT lunch... Service was fab and the food even better! Deffo worth a visit :)
Lovely county pub setting. Easy to find with parking. Food menu very dissapointing. Check the menu before you do the journey. We left after a very limiting choice of starter to find a wider more value for money in Lenham. £9+ for a quarter of a ciabatta bread with some chunky cut ham. Prosecco very good vfm though.
Our first visit as recently moved to the area, it was my husbands birtgday and I’d booked through open table. Absolutely loved everything about the Dirty Habit especially the food which was outstanding, a huge selection of fantastic drinks and the service was brilliant. Couldn’t fault a thing, we’ve booked to go back this weekend for more celebrations they were happy to accommodate us even though it was a last minute booking. Would recommend this pub to everyone.
Great food but could do with a change of menu - although I do go a lot! More Vegan options please. Your 2 options are lovely but I have tried both multiple times. How often is your menu changed?
Booked for lunch on saturday afternoon. Really nice food and great ambience. Friendly staff. Car park quite tight so could be hard during busy times.
Watch your head on the low beam inside!
Absolutely loved that the pub had vegan options - the Taco's were to die for! A little disappointed with the Nut Roast (not very big or flavoursome) - but much rather have a choice than no choice. The roast wasn't Vegan I believe (which is fine, I'm not full-vegan) but would be nice for a vegan roast choice too and more veggies on the plate, I love veggies. Cosy, staff very friendly, lovely welcome after a long walk. Will be back.
Pleasant place and friendly service.Booked as table of four.Let down by the portion size given on main meal. Partridge size fine, but the vegetable portion was very poor, small potato rosti and two spring onions. Ordered three cheese and biscuits with different cheeses. Portions of cheese charged £2.50 each,so small had to look twice, would not cover the biscuits. mentioned to staff, who produced another two portions of the same size.
Main meals charged £15-16 each, would expect decent size for that cost.
Have been many times before so chose The Dirty Habit as the place to have my birthday roast! Love that there are dogs everywhere and I can bring my pup. I had nut roast which was lovely but I do always have to ask for extra gravy and even then could really do with more as the gravy boats are like little shot glasses! My mum had a bit of a cremated Yorkshire which was swapped for a normal one when we asked, and my dad was disappointed he didn't get any crackling with his roast pork but other than those tiny things it was so lovely and we will be back very soon!
We’ll probably avoid the busy Sunday lunchtime dining in the future. Thanks for the service with a smile and the lovely Timothy Taylor’s :)
Food was a good standard and cost reasonable. Location is ok although parking can be difficult if busy. Atmosphere of the pub is good.
Excellent food quality in this pleasant village gastro pub
