   My family and I had dinner which was delectable! The waiter, whom I believe was Malaysian? Was very attentive! Extremely clean and tidy overall and would definitely come back!

   A real mixture of meals 2 mains out of 4 excellent, 1 poorly presented and avoid the fish and chips as it was awful. Pureed mushy peas overcooked fish and overcooked chips - very poor. But overall great starters great puddings just a few areas that needed more attention from the kitchen team.

   Met with 2 friends here for lunch after we 'd done a walk in the area together. The staff were very attentive and accommodated us on the patio as one of our group had a dog. Would thoroughly recommend - an excellent pub in a beautiful area.

   We had stayed here once before and therefore had some preconception of what our overnight stay might involve. We were not disappointed. The welcome was genuine, the ambience convivial, our room was spotless with a profusion of towels. The evening meal for the two of us was excellent with attentive and consistently satisfactory service. We were made to feel very welcome. We shall be visiting (and staying) there soon. m&l.

    Exceptional food and service, all the food is locally sourced and seasonal, cooked to perfection, friendly and attentive staff, and a comprehensive drinks selection too. Lovely ambience as well and a mixed bag of patrons, minus and thankfully, no screaming children high on E numbers. It’s not the cheapest out there, but it doesn’t market itself as an all you can eat fest for fatties! Nor will you get a three day old Harvester salad special with a suspicious looking burger and a complimentary dose of listeria thrown in. It’s value for money though and as the adage goes, you pay for what you get.

    Love going to this pub. Warm welcome, great service and interesting menu. The flatiron chicken is lovely - moist and tasty. Venison burger was chewy and disappointing. The white chocolate dessert is stunning and one of the best puds I have ever had. When it gets warmer the Garden Room is lovely place to eat! I look forward to my next visit.

    Great lunch. Shame it was so draughty. Understand why the garden room door needed to be open...but front door to bat needed to be closed and heating possibly higher

    We have been to the Dorset Arms a number of times. The choices offered were excellent, well presented and delicious. It was a bonus to meet the owners as we left! Living as I do next to Knole Park in Sevenoaks, I had always thought there must be a connection with the Sackville family who were, for a period time, Dukes of Dorset. It was very interesting to have my thoughts confirmed. They are rightfully proud of their family traditions to which they can add a superb country pub dining experience.

    Lamb and pomegranate salad really delicious. 2 diners have the burger which was very good. I had venison burger also good. Lemon posset desert yummy

    Another great meal at the wonderful Dorset Arms. I took a friend there and he said how much he wished he had a local like the Dorset Arms. A dream pub and restuarant.

    Lovely cosy country pub. Excellent food and wine. Friendly and welcoming staff. Overnight stay in a very pleasant quiet room overlooking countryside. Thoroughly recommend the Dorset Arms. We will be back.

    Lovely meal, sat out in the garden, very relaxing. Thanks to the friendly staff / young waiter who approached us as soon as we entered the pub to ask about our booking etc. Nothing too much trouble despite being short staffed and working all day into the evening! Certainly recommend the venison steak with the green beans on the side.

    I took my wife for lunch with our two young children. It was her birthday and I was very much looking forward to the occasion, particularly as The Dorset Arms has such a good reputation. Unfortunately the food was very ordinary and the service was extremely slow. We waited half an hour for our simple starters and another half an hour for our main courses. After being handed the menu for desert we made our choices, but no one came to take our order. After about twenty minutes waiting we decided to give up and I went to the bar to ask for the bill. The ambience is good and the setting is delightful, so it is a shame that the food is underwhelming and the service is so complacent. We left feeling very disappointed. But more to the point I don't really think anyone could have cared less.

    As usual a lovely meal / they did have a problem with their ordering system to the kitchen so we had a long wait for starters but they didn’t charge us for them or our first drinks as a result ! Very good

    Eaten here before and enjoyed our meal. A few issues with our most recent meal. Slow service. A pot of mustard with our bread instead of butter! Vanilla ice cream most certainly wasn’t! Had citrus tones to it - wasn’t unpleasant. Lots of other diners suffered slow service or incorrect food delivered to their table. All in all, it was an average meal and sadly we won’t be hurrying back.

    There was nowhere to park so couldn’t attend. I was really disappointed. I rang them and the person the other end just kept shouting ‘across the top and round the corner’. Across the top had a big private entrance sign.

    Food was delicious, good portion sizes. Service and atmosphere was great. We were a table of 6 who all had roasts. Only one small complaint was no parsnips.

    It was my wife’s birthday. The manager very kindly let us bring the cake we’d made, which they brought out. Top service, very enthusiastic, proactive manager. Great to see the Dorset Arms on form.

    It was a quiet Monday night…a few diners in along with my party of three. The food was superb, we had starters, mains and (albeit didn’t have room) puddings too…. Lovely waiting staff, very attentive and chatty…made for a great atmosphere. Have been here a couple of times…always had good food. Will be back soon - waistline willing!!!
