Took my sisters for afternoon tea and was pleased with the variety of items both sweet and savory. Creative items and perfect setting for our sisters week in the UK. The service is excellent, the reception staff welcoming and helpful. Bath itself is amazing and this location and the experience is icing on the cake.

Not great. 8pm booking for our anniversary, arrived 10 minutes early and sent to the bar, we were there for 40 minutes before being taken to our table and then waited for over 20 minutes before the amuse bouche. Things didn’t really improve sadly, the dishes flavours were unbalanced with long breaks in between. When we finish our mains (with much left) 2 members of staff came to our table ignoring the plates and it was 10 minutes before they were cleared - no questions asked. Decided not to risk dessert.

Great service. We had a crash course in choosing wines and how to taste them! Staff were attentivie. We had the 6 course taster menu - to be honest we did not like every single dish but it was a nice treat overall as part of our 5th wedding anniversary celebrations

Cocktails were to die for!
Food was amazing, I had the monkfish and the flavours were impeccable.
A nice touch was a pianist as you entered who played all night.
A must in Bath!

Lovely afternoon tea but the ambience could be improved. It’s a shame our table was stuck in a corner so we were all sat facing the corner which wasn’t great. The room was lacking character - all a bit beige and bland. The food was good.

This place was lovely! We were visiting Bath for the weekend and while on the train we decided to book afternoon tea. Upon searching the internet we came across The Dower House. Luckily they had a spot for four that afternoon. The minute we walked up we were greeted at the door by an impeccably dressed doorman who greeted us warmly and guided us to our destination. We stepped out into an amazing garden and felt like we had been transported back in time. We found out late the garden was used to film parts of Pride and Prejudice and we could see why. All the wait staff were friendly, well dressed and catered to us as if we were royalty. We had Afternoon Tea and it was amazing! Everything tasted looked and tasted divine. I am a vegetarian and I was so pleased to see they had an afternoon tea specifically for vegetarians. They focus on the experience so they only have a few tables scattered throughout the garden so each guest will feel like they dining privately. I love this place and I highly recommend going when you are in Bath. I can not wait to return.

Fantastic afternoon tea with great service, atmosphere & setting. Food was delicious & the knowledge of the staff explaining & describing the items was second to none. Went for a birthday celebration & this was acknowledged with a decorated plate which was a lovely touch & not over the top. Would definitely go back again

I have stayed at the Royal Crescent previously and really enjoyed the experience and the food at the Dower House.
However, I wasn't overly impressed with the afternoon tea considering the price. Also the glasses of champagne for the additional £20 were miniscule.
Perhaps it was because we had a booking fairly late in the afternoon that our plates and glasses were taken away as soon as they were emptied. Or perhaps the staff were very attentive.
The Dower House is a lovely setting and I wouldn't hesitate to go again, but not for afternoon tea.

Went there for mine and my partners first anniversary. Soon as we stepped in the restaurant we were welcomed by staff to take our coats and take us to our table. Throughout the whole evening the staff where nothing by helpful and gracious. The overall feel of the restaurant was warm and romantic, however the star of the show was by far the food we had scallops and duck liver to start which we both fresh and light. We then had the lamb and duck for mains. The lamb was truly amazing every element on the dish came together and blew us away. A truly amazing night. We will definitely be booking again!

Food and main service were excellent , no ambience in main entrance . We didn’t know where restaurant was (it’s in separate building ) and no one would tell us where to go , just sat there and nodded as we arrived .
Ambience in bar could be improved with a bit less “banter “ conversation and more service conversation
But all in all main meal was great and the restaurant service was good

It was very good. It is a go to spot I suppose, hence the price! For High Tea, it is quite expensive comparably. Beautiful setting, gracious hosts; we were allowed to pArk and leave our vehicle as long as we wanted for 10 £. Overall, very enjoyable, nice experience. They do offer extra sandwiches, etc

I took my sister to the dower house for afternoon tea as a treat.
The food was excellent as expected but the service was not as attentive as on previous occasions we sat in a corner away from everyone else so kinda got forgotten about , we were asked if we wanted more sandwiches which was great but didn't get or extra pots of tea.
The table to our right behind the wall were very well attended to.
I had to find the server and ask for our bill but he didn't bring it so had to ask another member of staff to bring it .
This was an expensive afternoon tea and I was disappointed as I've been to the hotel many times and received excellent service.

Absolutely brilliant! Hands down the best afternoon tea I've been to - in Bath, London or anywhere else. Excellent in terms of food, value for money, staff and surroundings. Gardens were gorgeous. We were there with a young baby and everyone was so helpful and friendly (baby changing facilities were spot on too!) We will definitely be back!
