The Dower House - Royal Crescent Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Went there for mine and my partners first anniversary. Soon as we stepped in the restaurant we were welcomed by staff to take our coats and take us to our table. Throughout the whole evening the staff where nothing by helpful and gracious. The overall feel of the restaurant was warm and romantic, however the star of the show was by far the food we had scallops and duck liver to start which we both fresh and light. We then had the lamb and duck for mains. The lamb was truly amazing every element on the dish came together and blew us away. A truly amazing night. We will definitely be booking again!
It was very good. It is a go to spot I suppose, hence the price! For High Tea, it is quite expensive comparably. Beautiful setting, gracious hosts; we were allowed to pArk and leave our vehicle as long as we wanted for 10 £. Overall, very enjoyable, nice experience. They do offer extra sandwiches, etc
Absolutely brilliant! Hands down the best afternoon tea I've been to - in Bath, London or anywhere else. Excellent in terms of food, value for money, staff and surroundings. Gardens were gorgeous. We were there with a young baby and everyone was so helpful and friendly (baby changing facilities were spot on too!) We will definitely be back!
Beautiful. We were celebrating a very special occasion and it was perfect. We had unexpectedly had to take our little dog with us and as the weather was quite warm we were very reluctant to leave him in the car. We contacted the Royal Crescent and they set us up in the Library with exclusive use! It was just about perfect. The Afternoon Tea and champagne were beautiful and the service exemplary. Heading back very soon for dinner - the menu look super!
Absolutely wonderful. Afternoon tea with champagne sat out in the garden because of the good weather. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the staff were attentive and very pleasant. Will definitely be returning. Due to my suffering with hay fever they even had no hesitation in moving our reserved table to another part of the garden away from the majority of the flowers. Can I write anything negative about our visit - no, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
We had afternoon tea at The Dower House, Royal Crescent Hotel. The weather was lovely and it was fantastic to sit in the beautiful garden. The service was superb -- very efficient and friendly. We were told that there was no rush and that we could have additional sandwiches and tea as we wished. The savouries were particularly delicious and unusual and the bath bun a speciality. The quality of the cooking is extremely high and the selection of teas very good.
We had a wonderful lazy, indulgent afternoon. Would highly recommend.
We had a lovely Afternoon tea. Quality of the food and drink was outstanding.
Service was great.
Only thing I'd possibly say is that we had 4 different people serving us across the afternoon - it would be nice to just have one person dedicated to your table.
Great afternoon tea in such a nice venue. Lovely garden and friendly service! The waitress moved us from our orginal seats to a seat with a nice view which was really nice of her. Would definately come back. I think an option to refill on the sandwiches would be ace, i know a few places that do that but apart from we thought the whole experience was great and memorable.
Excellent food, very knowledgeable sommelier and cheerful, efficient service. We ate the six course taster menu and tried an unknown (at least to us) Lebanese wine. There was plenty to challenge, experiment with and enjoy. In our party of four we all had our favourites and some dishes we were less keen on but overall a very enjoyable experience. A formal setting with beautiful garden and comfortable bar to relax in before your meal. Part of the Royal Crescent Hotel but separate. We found the background music a little irritating, otherwise an excellent evening.
What a fantastic experience - my mother and I had an afternoon tea for her 70th birthday and everything was total perfection. The staff were attentive without being interfering, nothing was any trouble and we really felt that they cared that we were having a good time. The food was exquisite - we had one traditional and one savoury afternoon tea - the individual Bath Buns were sensational, the patisseries beautiful and delicious and the savoury dishes were extremely innovative (apple jelly with a creamy with spelt breadcrumbs
Beautiful surroundings. Very attentive staff. We were made to feel very welcome. The selection of sandwiches and cakes were very nice but I have had equally nice afternoon tea at other places for less expense. It was a little bit of luxury for a special occasion though and we enjoyed it very much
I wanted to take my friend for a special afternoon tea and I couldn't have asked for more. It is perfectly located in the centre if you want to arrive early and have a wonder round Bath. We were able to park the car for the day which made it so easier to potter about. Would highly recommend the experience.
My partner and I ate at The Dower House on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived at 8pm but was full by 9pm. It's a beautiful location and the dining room is lovely - I really like the table set-up.
We ate from the A La Carte which had some really interesting choices. The food was stunningly presented and delicious - I would particularly recommend the turbot.
Service was delightful from the moment we entered the restaurant and were greeted. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The chap who waited on us from Portugal was particularly charming.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone staying in or around Bath, not least because the building is one of the most beautiful parts of it.
