Great experience. They couldn't do enough for us. Every request we made was serviced with a smile. Will definately do again. Delicious food. Although a bit pricey, worth every penny.
Superb meal, great service and absolutely everything on the tasting menu was a triumph. Interesting yet delicious combinations of flavour, with hints of festivity throughout.
We will certainly be back (once we’ve saved up again!)
Fantastic tasting menu - excellent wine pairings - great service- haggis croquettes-my new favourite food 😋
What a delightful place for tea. Great choice of different teas with delicious sandwiches, cakes, scones and the famous Bath Bun. Staff could not have been more helpful.
We were married Two hours prior and we arrived early, still nothing was to much trouble great relaxing afternoon after a very hectic morning, Thank you
We went for late lunch. Every good is very nice and delicious.
I can tell that this was best afternoon tea in Bath.
Wonderful experience. Attentive staff and excellent food. We were made to feel special and greatly enjoyed our afternoon tea
Absolutely wonderful afternoon tea
Service was friendly Food was delicious and the and flight of champagnes were perfect
All in all worth every penny, will book again for sure :)
Very enjoyable afternoon tea; food very good and staff very friendly and attentive.
Slightly expensive when the 12.5% service charge is added, however did not detract from an enjoyable visit.
Very lovely experience. I felt spoiled which is usually what you are aiming for with high tea. The staff were all lovely and helpful and the food was delicious.
Very Good choice of food and wines, excellent flavours and food combinations. A first class venue.
Elegant, attractive afternoon tea with efficient and charming service
Top notch!
Great food!
Top service!
Would come again!
Afternoon tea at the Dower House was simply fantastic! Super service from Sonia, and ample eating delights plus interesting choice of teas!
Afternoon tea diners sit at the front of the restaurant, by the window. Amazing cakes!
We have been very disappointed by the patisseries
I was disappointed it was very expensive and the choice limited for this price.
I have had better in Bath with a wide selection of cakes and pastries. The ambience was somber and I did say on my email this was a special occasion which I think was for your records only.
I had saved up to go and treat a friend but she didn’t like the smaller petit fours so an alternative would have been nice to be offered or a choice of the selection of cakes we preferred as opposed to standard selection.
Very upset about this visit and I won’t book it again. Overpriced and underwhelming.
Impeccable service as always, Afternoon Tea was superb , we arrived early and they accommodated us no problem. Looking forward to our next visit .
First time here but would certainly love to come back.
Grounds were amazing and the hotel a real one off
Exactly what you'd want from afternoon tea. Delightful.
Fantastic food in a gorgeous setting overlooking the garden. Very pricy but a real treat.
Afternoon tea was lovely, happy to fill up anything you want more of.
Great afternoon tea
We had to find our way into the tearoom as the hotel staff not too helpful. The table was nicely spaced out. The service was prompt but the staff member served our afternoon tea and didn’t tell us what the items were. The also gave us 2 meat afternoon teas rather than 1 vegetarian one. The food was lovely and we had a good experience overall.
Unfortunately I was'nt well on the day. We would very much like to visit again on the same terms within the next few months. A visit to the Royal Crescent is always special, and the new management remains excellent.
Had the most amazing mussels absolutely delicious 😋
A brilliant afternoon tea in the hotels gardens.
Amazing, one if my favourite places for afternoon tea. Felt very secure during COVID times too.
The food and setting were faultless. Great location and beautiful garden
I booked a table in the garden for my partners 50th birthday lunchtime treat, it lived up to my expectations and more, the garden was lovely and the food was simply delicious, it made for an excellent afternoon in the sunshine. I wouldn't hesitate booking a table again on my return to Bath.
Stunning setting and such a beautiful garden to sit in the sun and enjoys lunch and drinks . Perfect
Came for a birthday dinner my only complaint was there was no background music and the restaurant was so quite it had a strange feeling. No buzz and was conscious of everything we were saying as others in room could easily hear.
Service and food were both excellent. We had the tasting menu which was delicious.
We were greeted and made to feel at home immediately. The service was excellent and the food and teas were very good. It was a very enjoyable experience which we would recommend to others. Thank you.
We were very lucky with the weather, so eating in the garden was a joy. The service was a bit on the slow side, but we weren't in a hurry, so it didn't affect us. The little tasting bits as starters were very tasty and beautifully presented. The mussels were superb. While not cheap, it was excellent value for the money.
Delicious food served in a beautiful atmosphere, by excellent and professional staff who made us feel like royalty.
Due to COVID-19 the menu was restricted.
The ambience was very quiet, last time we were there, you could hear background music.
Attentive service
Well executed dishes but nothing outstanding to live long in the memory.
Disappointing no wine flight to go with tasting when serving by the glass...?
Sommelier good but should cover nose as well as mouth with face mask!
Great to be back out in a great setting enjoyable night for both
Setting was beautiful, the food was great, staff were very attentive and swapped around things we liked and disliked! Highly recommend
Having waited 8 months to redeem our gift voucher to celebrate a special occasion, we were very disappointed to find that the afternoon tea menu has been stripped back to two options, with the fantastic "savoury" option now gone.
The net result of this was that, after consuming so much sugar, diabetes was only just around the corner!
To make matters worse, there was a party of six in the middle of the room who were going heavy on the champagne and became loud and obnoxious, with little regard for anyone else's comfort and enjoyment.
Obviously this wasn't the fault of the Dower House however, the staff was clearly aware that these guests were causing a bit of a disturbance, yet did nothing about it.
To top it all of, the staff was wearing face masks, but under their noses!
All in all, the food was OK, but nothing more than OK. The sandwiches were bland, and the cakes were nice, but I feel that you could get a better afternoon tea in any of the lovely cafes in town, plus a BOTTLE of champagne, and still come away with change in your pocket.
This was our fourth visit to Dower House, but this time was a big disappointment. Until now, everything had always been perfect, but I'm very sad to say that I would think twice before returning.
