   I would have preferred more savoury sandwiches with the delicious scones and delicious Bath Buns. I did not like the top level of cakes so much.

   We were positioned just inside the doors which opened to the outside but behind us was the cashiers till and for the majority of the time the waitress was conducting business eg working out bills, talking to other workers and she never once came and asked us if everything was ok, if we wanted more tea or even some water as we were only given one glass on arrival, not even a jug. We asked for the champagne afternoon tea but she clearly didn’t hear us as it never came but we were not too bothered as it was a lot more to pay. There really was no ambiance as I would have expected from such a well known hotel in bath. Really disappointing

   Beautiful place and lovely food. I am vegetarian and the sandwich selection was very good. The staff were very nice but made a mistake with all the initial pots of tea, when they came back with the right teas they forgot one, a further order made then seemed to be forgotten and had to be asked for again. No one came round and asked if all ok or if anyone wanted anything topped up. For the price I would expect the service to be spot on, particularly as they added on a service charge and expected it to be paid in full.

    Excellent setting for afternoon tea but spoilt by poor service. The waiting staff were friendly and polite but seemed over stretched. On arrival tables hadn't been cleared so had to wait to be seated. Order taken straight away but nothing arrived for nearly an hour! We were offered complimentary glass of champagne which alleviated some of the disappointment. Some of the afternoon tea condiments were on the small side considering there were 3 of us. Overall a disappointing experience given the fantastic setting. Would like to emphasise the staff were charming but seemed stretched by the number of tables to be served.

    Really lovely experience - slightly disappointed that the vegetarian sandwiches were in fact all vegan, cheese and cucumber would have been nice rather than just cucumber. But only a minor thing. Bath bun amazing and that cinnamon butter!! Waiters polite and friendly, we did not want to leave!

    I have enjoyed many afternoon teas but our one at The Royal Crescent hotel was by far the best. The service was impeccable, the ambiance genteel , the choice of teas excellent and the food outstanding, particularly the scones.

    Lovely setting for afternoon tea in the gardens. Quiet and peaceful. Food was amazing. Good selection of sandwiches and cakes. We'll presented. Staff were extremely friendly. Offered to take a photo of myself and my friend. They gave us a plate with Happy Birthday written of it. Attention to detail was spot on. Would highly recommend.

    We stopped by the Royal Crescent Hotel and asked if they could find a table for us to have a cream tea. The staff were happy to accommodate and we were offered a table in the garden as the weather was fine – the scones were feather light and the tea delicious. My tea of choice is Rooibus and this was one of best brews I have tasted in a long time. My friend enjoyed English breakfast tea and was equally impressed. Later that week we were booked in for a birthday lunch at The Dower House Restaurant at the Hotel and the food and service were both excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were all so welcoming. We started with a sharing plate of falafel, olives, warm bread, dressed vegetables and delicious spicy pepper hummus. We followed this with the amazing Lemon Sole Meuniere and my friend had the Braised Feather Blade of Beef. Who can resist a dessert? All looked delicious but we chose the cheesecake and crème brulee and were not disappointed. As if the afternoon couldn’t get any better, my friend was then presented with a beautifully iced ‘Happy Birthday’ plate with a selection of petit fours and a glass of champagne for each of us (I had pre-arranged this when I made the booking and the staff were all fully prepared to make my friends special day even more special). So thank you to all the staff and I can most definitely recommend a visit to this beautiful Hotel and gardens.

    We sat outside for afternoon tea in the garden for a special birthday celebration which was wonderful. Staff very helpful especially the lady with short hair but I didn’t catch her name! Very accommodating to dietary requirements and although tea was a bit late towards the end they were quick to resolve. Beautiful relaxed atmosphere.

    We booked for my partners birthday, nothing special happened despite having hinted at a birthday treat. Waited about 25 minutes for service after sitting down, no menus or water. The head waiter who brought us to our table was lovely whoever forgetful as champagne was offered as a gesture after no service was provided but was not taken off bill. Food was good however for the price point you may want to look around Bath, I imagine you get some lovely high teas.

    Would have been nice to be asked if we were enjoying the food, difficult to attract staff attention, very poor serving of jam and cream for the scones, basically given a portion for one to go around four people.

    An elegant and refined dining experience, as we hoped for to celebrate a family 60th birthday. The service was prompt and respectful. The degustation menu was interesting, beautifully presented and delicious, compliments to all the chefs and kitchen staff. We discovered a Huai Pinot Gris on the wine menu that was amazing as well as a Nederburg late harvest wine that we will seek out again.

    Amazing foods flavours in tasting menu. Lovely garden view. Spacious and relatively quiet. Staff were friendly and attentive, especially when they realised Dad was hard of hearing. Wine was ok but not value for money @£165 and no wine notes to help you select your wine & sommelier didn’t explain wine to set our expectations that Barolo we had wasn’t a typical bold barolo but rather watery & not a 2014 as on the menu but a 2017. Will return for food & setting but will ask more questions about wine before selecting.

    We booked Tea on the 11th April at 4pm. We we shown to a corner table in a smallish room that over looked the garden. What immediately surprised me was that the other tables in this room were not laid. Although the restaurant planned that there were to be no further guests in that room it's very depressing for guests to sit in a room with other tables that are completely bare other than a table cloth. I noticed in the main room other table that weren't being utilised were also bare. Service at our table was immensely slow. After being shown where were were to sit it took ten or possibly minutes to receive a menu and then a further ten or fifteen minutes for our order to be taken and a similar length of time for our order to eventually arrive.  I imagine the sandwiches were freshly made but left uncovered and exposed resulting in sandwich that were slightly dry. On an optimistic note the pastries were faultless. We ordered the menu with three glasses of various Champagnes but none arrived. We were continually completely over looked by the staff. I eventually had to leave my table and find a waiter in the main dining room to ask for our Champagne. This level of service, or lack of was really starting to irritate. I understood that each different Champagne was to be served with each course during Tea. Yet again were were completely ignored with the further two glass arriving at completely random times and only after we eventually managed to gesture to staff that we needed 'service'. Because service was so painfully slow by the time we returned to our car we had over run on the meter and had recieved a parking ticket which we felt was no fault of ours.  All in all a very expensive rather poor afternoon.  The response I had from the hotel was as though it was stock response that they already had on file.
