The Drapers Arms
Very much a pub we are as welcoming to one person sitting with a beer and a paper as to a group having a special meal. In an informal and relaxing atmosphere we nonetheless take our food, drink and service seriously. Well chosen and carefully tended ales (Harveys Sussex and two on rotation) and wines (18 available by the glass) add to a range of authentic lagers, spirits and soft drinks.
Our food is all freshly prepared and our menu changes every day and across the seasons. With a focus on being enjoyable, honest and seasonal we are also affordable - we were very pleased in our first year to receive a 'Bib Gourmand' by Michelin for 'Good food at affordable prices'.
Our upstairs dining room can accommodate weddings, christenings and parties and is among the finest private hire options in London.

Food was great, but it was so noisy! Service was also a bit hit and miss as the same staff seemed to be working the bar and the tables and on this occasion seemed more concerned with the bar. There was a large party in the bar drinking for some time before sitting down for a birthday function so this might have had something to do with it. It wasn't great for a relaxing, enjoyable meal out tbh. Hopefully just a one off.
really great Sunday roast. definitely get the sharing meals.
I had high expectations of Sunday lunch at The Drapers Arm but was disappointed.
We were a group of 5 friends and seated in the upstairs room. Unfortunately the room was dominated by larger grupo
The venue and food are great - the staff are fabulous. Helpful, kind, smiling, attentive - just perfect. Cx
Loved it. From the beautiful pale blue exterior to the warm reception received inside it was a top top Sunday treat! Food came out quickly after some comp delightful sourdough and butter. My friend and Inbith went for the Beef. Daaaaaamn it was a great choice. Pink, knife straight thru beef, massive yorkie, crispy roasties and al dente veg. Lovely. Thank you Drapers! Will be back! 😊
The Drapers Arms is one of my favourites, it's one of our locals and we have actively to try to go elsewhere because we like it so much. The comments from Saturday were that the pub had a great atmosphere and was the sort of place you would want to take friends visiting London. Food was great, only comment would be the service, the waiter looked like she actively didn't like me for a lot of lunch and was a little hostile towards us. Needless to say though, we'll be back.
Great food and service, even on a busy new year’s day
We were excited to come to The Drapers Arms but ultimately left disappointed. Staff were initially welcoming and helpful. The roast belly of pork we got was mainly fat and inedible. After asking for it to be put under the grill, we were told the chef wouldn’t do it. The vegetarian main of Freekeh and roasted squash needed far better seasoning and was very plain and dry. The goose rilletes came with shop bought Hovis brown bread. Maybe this was a bad day to come on New Years Day but the food didn’t live up to the reviews or the standards of most pubs in the nearby area. For the prices you’d expect far better quality.
Nice meal, great service and really nice pub. Would highly recommend
Came with group of overseas friends. There was an extremely noisy party at another table. Due to the large, open space layout of the pub/restaurant, at times it was hard to hear each other over their cacophony.
My friends really liked the food and drinks, and we had a fun evening. I thought it was a bit overpriced for what it was. Generally the service was fine, and the drinks were very good.
I asked for my steak rare but it came medium. Rather than hold everyone up I didn’t send it back, but I did mention it later. Without me asking, we were not charged for it on the bill. I thought this was very classy of them.
Come for a lively night out with friends, be prepared to pay slightly more for your delicious drinks, and remember this is high end pub-grub so set your expectations accordingly. If you can do that - I would certainly recommend.
It is great to have The Drapers, with a relaxed and people friendly vibe, and mostly excellent food in the neighbourhood.
It’s blissfully my local and you just couldn’t wish for a better local if you tried. We are treated extremely well in there. Always a friendly face, good food and wine and a nice atmosphere. I can’t add any more than that.
Terrific food and service in a crowded, buzzy setting.
The food was average and we got charged 2 pounds for a teaspoon of mustard and a teaspoon of ketchup. Really not living up to the hype.
lovely atmosphere - very friendly service and delicious fresh food -
- it was quite noisey but then it was just before christmas so there were some large parties - so rconsidering this really not too bad
It was great night of food and drink, very enjoyable.
Great atmosphere until we were rushed off the table!!
Lovely service but the food was quite average and over-priced. My nine year old son can present a better cheese board.
The downside to this place is the unfortunately high noise level. It makes it extremely difficult to have a decent conversation with fellow diners with resorting to shouting. This did reduce the amount of pleasure we would have had and that was not entirely made up by the good food and service.
Food and service are excellent. I would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for excellent quality pub food in a relaxed setting.
The best spot for proper Sunday Roast in London!
Far too noisy, no decor to absorb the noise and it didn't have a cosy atmosphere at all.
Really delicious food but unbelievably noisy. I couldn’t hear the waiter.
great dinner with 6 friends at the drapers arms, great atmosphere
Lots of fun, cosy atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food
Despite good reviews, we find Drapers Arms consistently over-rated with an uninspiring menu. It took an hour for any food to arrive, it wasn't worth waiting for and they still got the order wrong. A real shame, beautiful pub and closest one to us.
Great venue and superb atmosphere. Very busy even during late afternoon lunch and although they forgot about our desert order we really didn’t mind as the portion of lamb shoulder we were given for 3 persons was just overwhelming. It was cooked perfectly.
Fantastic roast at the Drapers arms. Incredible selection and a wonderful sticky toffee pudding to finish!
Great setting, amazing wine list. The Sunday roasts are delicious. More pricey then an average pub but probably higher quality, so worth the spend.
Lovely food and a lovely spot. Went with a group of 11 for a Sunday Roast. Attentive service, delicious food, very good wine list. You should go!
we took a three year old and there were six of us altogether. We were all most impressed overall and especially with the cooking. The service was sublime. It was not cheap but it was fair and everyone said they loved the meal and the location and the ambience.
The drapers arms is one of the the best restaurants in London for a Sunday roast.
I requested a quieter table, were seated upstairs, however, it was extremely loud from 1:30pm onwards. If you're with people you'd like to speak to go early!
Excellent gastro pub dedicated to sourcing local ingredients and high quality wine.
Very disappointing meal with family. Waited over an hour for our main courses and when they arrived, they were cold and some were inedible. I can only assume this was an error due to short staffing, and the bar staff were extremely apologetic and amended the bill for us. Having had aloe my meal here in the past, it was quite unfortunate and rather disappointing.
Great food and lovely setting
As usual it was a pleasure to eat at the Drapers' Arms. The food, wine and service were all very good and it was not noisy. My friend and I have been there before, it is very near my London base and it was an enjoyable evening. I look forward to my next visit!
We usually love The DrAper’s Arms but we found things did fall down rather on a Sunday lunch time as the kitchen was so over stretched.
We were a party of 8 booked in for 2pm - but we didn’t get our main courses until 350pm by which time we were ravenous. There was a very large group in the dining room which presumably had their orders taken just before our table. The delay did spoil our experience and, as host, I felt very tense rather than relaxed!
Really good food and wine
Lighting a bit too strong
Noise level near the bar a bit too strong
