Anniversary tea was beautiful. What a nice treat. Thank you
Beautiful High Tea for our friend’s birthday. Everything was beautiful and very special!
Grace was our waitress. She was very attentive, and enthused with serving us. She brought the tea samples to the table and explained which were the favorites, mentioning that we could remove the lids and smell the samples. When she brought the tray of food, she explained everything that was on it. She took photos for us. At the end of the meal we asked about purchasing some of the tea, and she went through instructions on how to brew the two teas we were interested in purchasing. She made us feel that our experience was really important to her. She is very professional and charming. We had a great time at The Drawing Room.
Wonderful Afternoon Tea at a really reasonable price, I think! Sandwiches were tasty, fresh and really quite filling. Scone was warm and yummy, with cream and jam and butter available. A whole pot of tea for each of us. Dessert tier was lovely, four pieces of flavourful goodies. We all had to take doggie boxes home. Our server Jody was warm and funny. I will definitely go again!
This was my first afternoon tea experience, and it was fantastic. Excellent service, beautiful decor, delicious food, and so many tea options! I was in a group of 7 which made seating tricky, but they were able to arrange a couple of tables so we were sitting in a semi-circle. My only suggestion would be to find tables that are the same height, since the different levels made things slightly awkward. This hardly mattered though, as the service was so good - when they realized we were having a bachelorette party, they accommodated splitting the bill between bridesmaids and gave the bride-to-be a special plate for her food. I'm excited for my next visit - a truly unforgettable experience!
We had Brook as our server and she was lovely. Very nice experience and very accommodating to dietary restrictions. Thank you!
The tea room was lovely- relaxed calm comfortable furnishings , pleasant and accommodating service.
The tea was beautifully served. The sandwiches and savouries and scones were pretty and delicious. Then we got to the top of the plate. The desserts were just plain awful. The pastry was tough and obviously not prepared in the kitchen- or for that matter anyone’s kitchen. They were factory produced and tasteless. What a disappointment. At $38 each the plate should have held only house prepared foods.
For this reason I could not recommend this place to my friends
Only negatives were we had to wait 10 mins for our reservation to be honored and then it was 2 tables for 2 awkwardly pushed together, and there were flies buzzing around us so badly we had to use our napkins to shield the food - which was delicious. Service was very friendly but not the most efficient - waitress went to get us more tea and forgot until we reminded her. Admittedly first world problems. Also the menus were tattered and worn out. Last but not least there should be some dress code at these prices, there were men in undershirts and flip flops.
The food has always the same... there should be more choices...
I took my mom for high tea on Saturday for a nice afternoon out. From the moment we arrived we were taken care of by the hostess, Mary, who was very considerate and accommodating of our seating request (we were originally in the drawing room by the fireplace but requested a window seat). When our server Victoria arrived, she seated us at a beautiful table by the windows. Victoria provided excellent customer service and was so kind, polite and friendly throughout our entire experience. She really made our experience above and beyond what we expected. Thank you Victoria for making it such a special afternoon for my mum and I, and thank you Mary for being sweet and very accommodating! We will definitely be returning to The Drawing Room in the future! Highly recommend!
A friend that I haven't seen in 3 years visited and we had high tea in the Drawing Room. I am a diabetic and they did everything to accommodate my diet. The tea was fabulous, food excellent and our server was one of the nicest, considerate women and made our tea very special. I will definitely go back.
Brought a friend for a retiremnt celebration. She was wished a happy retirement from the staff. Her first time at The Drawing Room. She loved the experience.
The service was poor. Reservations were made a few weeks in advance. I checked in twice upon arrival, went a third time to remind I was in the adjacent room, was told by different server, “I did not let know I was there”.
Our server was quite abrupt and rude in her manner, this was the general feeling of the entire table.
We were celebrating a birthday and this was mentioned when reservation was made, nothing was done to celebrate though. Seem to be a lack of communication within system. Very disappointing. Sandwiches were soggy.
Food and ambience were excellent as usual! Service was a bit slow. It seemed as if they did not have enough servers. We waited quite a while to pay our check which is done table side. Overall great experience!
We will be back again
First time and won’t be the last
19th birthday and we’ve spent many birthdays at afternoon tea over the years
It was a beautiful place with excellent service and great food. An experience that I highly recommend. The history on the menu was an added bonus.
The booking was made through the internet. There was no indication which restaurant. We were put in afternoon tea at 12.00pm (lunch time). When we arrived early we said lunch, but had to wait until a door opened. The server at the desk chose to misunderstand as the booking was made where we assigned. We were disappointed. We have eaten at the Prince of Wales for over seven years. The menu was limited and the choice and cost ratio poor. We shall not choose your restaurant gain.
Perfect place to spend some quiet time with loved ones. Request the atrium to sit and eat. Ask when you reserve. Glass enclosed and bright. Its an anniversary tradition of ours to go there.
I love having afternoon tea at The drawing room of the Prince of Wales hotel. Every summer we are going to see play at Festival Theater and have afternoon tea. It is became a tradition in our family.
The overall experience was good. The food was delicious, especially the desserts. They have a kids menu, however, they didn't seem to handle children being there very well. Recommend only adults going.
We had a lovely time and our server Victoria was professional, polite and very friendly.
Food was so so, horribly overpriced, when we were there - the noise level from children was deafening. There were three ladies next to us who packed up and left. Furniture is uncomfortable and weathered I would not recommend it, nor would I come again. Very dissapointing
Was a wonderful treat for mother daughter day and the celebration of turning 80. Would have been absolutely perfect except for the table of yelling children that arrived but luckily we were finishing up and leaving. Food was lovely and the tea was fabulous. Would recommend this experience for sure.
There is some flys around the table that’s 3 star for ambiance. Otherwise , I will give 5 star. The flyes bother a lot while enjoying the tea time. Again , Nice service.
We have been coming to the Prince of Wales Tea for years now and it never disappoints.
Lovely high tea. The dairy free option (requested in advance) was great.
A must! Delicious goodies. We made it our lunch. Service impeccable.
This is the third time I visit the Drawing Room. Its one of my favorite places to visit while at Niagara on The Lake. I brought a friend that was visiting from Argentina. She had a wonderful time and loved the delicious teas and pasties. She said will definitely come back to visit next year with her husband.
We were promptly seated at our reserved table and the service was very good . We opted for the set afternoon tea and and the selection of teas was excellent. There were a variety of sweet and savory treats, however no variations on the sandwiches for one of our group, as they were pre made. My own special dietary need was taken care of very well though. We would recommend the overall experience and hope to return again.
a great experience, food is good and service is excellent.however at $42 per person'it's a bit overpriced. The high price will prevent me from returning.Otherwise,I would be a regular at high tea.
I have tried a couple of high tea venues in the GTA and was hoping for more from this one. We really enjoyed the scones and tea - these were excellent. The ambiance was great too. However the sandwiches and pastries tasted store-bought and average (at best). A word of caution on the service and this may be a one-off experience, particular to our table: unfortunately our server was displaying signs of attitude (eye rolling and facial expressions as she left the table). This is sometimes expected based on my ethnicity but I was expecting more from this establishment as a popular tourist spot.
Great potential with the perfect ambiance, but was expecting a little more!
An elegant and relaxing environment, with beautiful flowers and furnishings. Service was top-notch - our server was polite, attentive, and detail oriented. Food and tea was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our mother-daughter celebration.
I enjoy bringing special friends or family. It’s always lovely!!
I love tea rooms, The Drawing Room is in a category all its own. The attention to detail was clear as soon as you step into The Prince of Whales Hotel one is surrounded by stain glass and beautifully framed pictures down the corridor. The hosts were most gracious and the various tables were dressed with fresh roses everywhere and the soft lighting set the tone for what was next. I could not stop smiling worth the price which was more than fair. Everything we ordered was savoy and filling. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
We had the Afternoon Tea service for my birthday (I'm a tea gourmand, so this was a treat for me). We arrived much earlier than originally planned and were prepared to kill the time outside but decided to ask and were very happy to be accommodated. The tea selection is excellent - I went with Darjeeling 2nd Flush (which is a premium tea and has $8 surcharge but was totally worth it). My husband enjoyed a very good Earl Grey, which is included into their regular selection. The sandwiches and pastries were very nice (we liked some more than the others but there was so much food that it was easy to pick and choose). It is pricey but for a special occasion, it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon (and we skipped the dinner :-)
Great food, service and atmosphere! Tea could have steeped longer though - but an overall excellent experience!
Delicious teas and food. Beautiful historical setting. Lovely way to spend a few hours in Niagara on the lake.
We did have a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes, also requested a particular table for visit, but not given. Overall the experience was great
It is truly a wonderful experience dining in the The Drawing Room.
Staff is always courteous and knowledgeable.
Ambiance is exceptional and transports you back in time to an era of beauty.
