An all day bar and restaurant in the impressive Heron Tower skyscraper on Bishopsgate, the drift is brought to you by the team behind The Folly, The Anthologist, the parlour and the refinery. Spread over two levels, its quirky design touches and view of Europe’s largest private aquarium is a refreshing antidote to the somewhat uniform City bars. the drift brims with quirky collectibles, hidden alcoves, a mixology table and a fine dining nook, whilst offering delights such as afternoon tea cocktails, a crustacea bar and liquid desserts to die for. The modern European menu includes plenty of sharing boards, flatbreads and antipasto boards alongside familiar favourites such as gourmet sandwiches, burgers jam-packed with delicious fillings, hearty mains and seasonal salads. Drinks are taken seriously here with a range of well-crafted and innovative cocktails from well-loved classics to calorie counted ‘skinnies’ and ‘Veg and Herb Patch’ cocktails. An extensive wine list includes over40.

Great dining environment, well priced food and very friendly staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant for business meetings, or something a little more casual.

We were a family group, youngest 34, oldest 82. We booked because the menu looked good, and it is near Liverpool Streeet station, but the moment we walked into the restaurant we realised we had made a mistake. We stayed because the logistics of moving were too complicated. It was too loud and and with subdued lighting. For some it would be buzzy, for us it was tedious.

The food was ok, not special. When I asked for a glass for my bottle of beer I was given a really warm glass. The white wine was not adequately chilled, but with the noise and lighting the three wine drinkers couldn't easily communicate so we drank it.

The drift was a reasonable venue for a lunch with a friend.
Originally we were placed on a table next to the hot grill area and very uncomfortable despite booking, however thankfully we were moved to a nicer table.
I thought the food was average but overall a nice lunch.

I go there regularly during the week and it is fine. However on Saturday, the food was served cold ... twice!

Good evening Peter Sorry to hear that you had such a poor experience on Saturday when we have the pleasure of your company so often during the week. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me earlier and also writing the review in the first place. We can't improve unless we know our failings. Looking forward to meeting you soon and enjoy the rest of your week. Alex Metcalfe GM

Very disappointed. Service was very slow and had to ask someone to take our order. The food was not as described and was expensive for what we received. Asked for the bill and then had to look for someone to take our payment. Have visited before and received a better service. Don't think I would go back again or recommend it

Great looking venue, service was also good however the food was very poor, the menu feels likes it’s too big for the kitchen to handle. The salad was just 99% watercress and the burger tasted of pepper. The price of the food was also very high. I did hear they are about to change the menu so maybe things will improve.

Unbelievably loud music, couldn’t even hear our server. Understand that there’s a bar downstairs but it made the restaurant unbearable, we left after 10 minutes as it felt more like a club.
Would not recommend coming for food, for drinks it may be different but I couldn’t comment as we couldn’t stay long enough.

Jackfruit was not prepared properly for the vegan burger, ended up with a messy puddle on the plate. The combination of jackfruit juices and heavy mayo was not pleasant and the bun did not stand up to the challenge.

However the chicken burger with halloumi fries was very good. And I was told the cowboy fries were also good. A little but cheeky charging extra for different fries with your meal because the portions are small.

I would recommend a short walk to the Ned instead for better food at the same price.

OK, Yes this is a bottomless lunch but note, you have only 4 drinks to choose from and you cannot change half way through; Asahi Beer, Bloody Mary, Processco or Aperol Spritzer.
I choose beer then realised I would be bloated all afternoon so I switched to process and was charged additional for the beer!
The offer is advertised with 'live music' which was very good BUT we booked 12-2pm and the live music did not turn up until 1:30pm. The food was good, but disappointed re the drinks and the fact that the singer and guitarist did not arrive until it was almost time to leave.

I love the Drift for a lunch with friends/colleagues or clients. The service is great, efficient, friendly. The food just tastes amazing (can thoroughly recommend the cheeseburger...!). I have been many times and always have a really good experience. Good value for great service and great food. Really nice atmosphere.

Met here Saturday for lunch with another couple and friend. We were one of first tables seated. Waitress was very good, friendly and helpful. Disappointed that only Saturday brunch menu available, despite web page saying all day menu available(or so I thought, didn't say any different). Very open plan restaurant, noise level not helped by TV being turned on for rugby!
Food was so so. My starter was supposed to be burata...was certainly not what I expected, more like dry mozzarella. Main course of crab cakes was very good, however chips were lukewarm. The other members of the party thought their choices were good, but again chips lukewarm.
Overall, ok but no plans to return.

It was extremely loud in the restaurant due to very loud music from the bar area below, more appropriate to a nightclub than a bar/restaurant. Could barely have a conversation. The food was good and reasonably priced for the location. Overall I cannot recommend due to the frankly ridiculous noise level. To be fair we went on a Friday night so perhaps on other nights they don't have the booming music.

Drift was able to accommodate our party of 12 on a Friday lunch which was a bonus and I would book again for this reason alone. Quite a few lagers on tap and Guinness which went down well with our group. Good selection of food with healthy options for those that way inclined. Would have been helpful for the server to let us know we had ordered very similar sharing starters as we doubled up on a few items which were then left uneaten. Overall a good experience.

It was Valentine’s Day so hard to book anywhere. Drift was available. Great as it wasn’t full of just couples. Our waiter was really helpful and friendly. There is a good selection on the menu. We shared squid to start and I had the seabass for main. My friends had a burger and fish and chips. It was very good.

I unexpectedly in a quite fancy building in Liverpool Street, the service was lovely, waiters were so charming and full of personality. Food was good but nothing special, some dishes have a better value for money in terms of portions so might b worth asking the question.

Booked this place for a business meal. When we arrived they had no record of the Open Table booking.

The waitress spilt half a pint all down one of my guests, and it took her over 20 minutes to bring a replacement drink which meant my guest was without one. There was almost zero apology for this..whilst I understand mistakes happen, we weren’t even offered napkins to mop it up.

Then 3 times they tried to clear the table when someone was eating, despite me requesting after the first time they tried, to not clear down until we had all finished. I would have thought this is common courtesy. It was embarrassing for my guest, who in the end let the waitress take his plate while he was mid mouthful.

I would recommmed the waiting staff who served us to go on some more training as it was under par to say the least.
