   The food was lovely, very good value, and the service was perfect, my only comment is that it was a little cold, probably because we were seated in the largest part of the open dining area and only a couple of other diners were present at the time we were their. Otherwise lovely relaxing place to meet up and have something nice to eat. Thank you

   Always a friendly welcome from staff at The Duke. I had one of the pizzas which definitely fill you up. Everyone was happy with their meal and was suitably stuffed.

   We booked a table as we knew there would be a band playing, so we went with friends. The band was brilliant, service at the bar and bringing our food out was excellent and very friendly. Will definitely book again.

   Previous visits I would rate 5 stars but on Sunday 17th august the pub seemed under staffed and some food not brought out. Choice of vegetables not as good as previous visits

   We come here anytime we want a nice Sunday roast. Always lovely good value for money. I have a very fussy child who is always well catered for. Child friendly and helpful staff.

    We were a group of 3 adults and 2 children for Sunday lunch and had booked, on line, to sit in the Restaurant. In the event we had to settle for a Table in the Bar area. We checked on arrival that the child menu was available on the £1 deal, this was confirmed as being so. The order was taken by a different waitress who it appears nominated adult portions for all. Whilst everything was very pleasant and the food excellent, the unexpected additional cost rather took the 'shine' off the event and resulted in this rather negative review.

    Lovely setting and pub had parking. Food was superb along with the service. Would have preferred no music in the dining room part as not always able to hear people talk. Would recommend to others and come back

    Arrived & received warm welcome, drinks were ordered took our table given planty of time to review the menue but not ignored. Once ordered meals were served in reasonable time plates were hot as was the meal waitress staff were attentive & checked all was OK. overall good experiance & not expensive

    Pleasant atmosphere. Spacious with room. Papers / good. Attention on service could have been better. Food was good cauliflower cheese was it on. Meat seemed flat in taste. Vegetables were good. Starter was nice. And sweet was good. L ager was good. Wine was nice. overall we marked you 7/10. We liked the spacious table . And felt very comfortable. Without saying we will be back in near future. Chris

    Eaten here a couple of weeks ago and food was great so thought we would try Sunday lunch. Was not overly impressed with Sunday lunch the normal menu is much better. Will go back again for food but not Sunday lunch should of stuck to rest of menu instead

    Booked at short notice for meal with a neighbouring couple. Warm evening and we had a pleasant garden table near the stream. Enjoyed a straightforward , good value menu beginning with a ( shared ) platter starter followed by excellent portions of pub-grub style meals . Pleasant service, good wine , good value and we walked home quite happy... We will be back.

    The pie was so small, only 3 pieces of chicken in it ? This was a surprise as I have had a pie here before and it was nearly twice the size and packed with filling ? Disappointing

    This is a great 'local' pub. Good atmosphere, great food (but no frills) and fantastic service. We both had a home cooked pizza, very tasty. There was a skittles match taking place when we dined which made the atmosphere even better. Unpretentious! Just as I like it.

    Arrived with 5 members of my husband portugese family, and had a lovely relaxing lunch. The waitresses were lovely as was the food. Highly recommend this pub.

    We were looking to try somewhere new and decided on the duke of Cumberland. We were not disappointed. We felt very well looked after on Friday evening. The food was absolutely delicious. Squid, croquette and spicy bean burgers. Very reasonable cost too. If your looking for a family friendly pub where children and dogs are welcome and great food and service, then this is for you. Lovely atmosphere and a nice garden to have a drink in after our meal. We would recommend and will be returning. Thank you

    We loved The Duke of Cumberland! It's cosy and welcoming, decor is tasteful and attention has been paid to detail. Service was very polite and prompt, everyone was friendly and helpful. We had pizza, we ordered the quattro stagioni and the red pepper and goats cheese with caramelized onion. They were tasty and absolutely huge. Desserts were quite varied and we had a chocolate cheese cake and some ice cream. Our meal - including drinks (a pint of cider and a glass of Argentinian Shiraz) sparkling water and espressos - was £46. We're definitely going back!

    We had completed a 10k run in the very cold surrounds of Longleat House. It was a good race and we were happy with what we'd done. We were VERY hungry though and the pub was easy to find, thank goodness - albeit along some very unused lanes. It was warm and welcoming and we were served quickly and with a friendly team helping out. The food was plentiful and tasty and we'd definitely go back. We even had dessert which was not usual for all of us. It was just what we needed.

    we love this pub the setting is very chilled.we had sunday lunch although good value my salmon came with mashed potato that was very lumpy.roast pots very under done.hubby asked for a cheese board which was clearly the the ends of the cheese as this was dried and not edible.i did speak to the waitress but no response.

    Booked a table here for New Years Eve, based on reviews read in internet. Staff and barman very helpful and friendly, food was diabolical, up until now I have only complained once in my life about a meal, on this occasion twice, the first meal and the alternative meal which was to compensate for the first. Never the less I insisted on paying the full bill, I am not a cheapskate. The waitress, so friendly and apologetic refused the £10 tip, but I did say the bad quality of the food should have no bearing on her manner and quality of service. Paul and Heidi, Germany
