The Duncombe Arms is a beautiful, traditional country pub situated at the heart of the lovely rural village of Ellastone on the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border. Located on the edge of the Peak District near the towns of Ashbourne and Uttoxeter it is a great place to visit providing a delightful setting in which to enjoy a drink, some lovely food, as well as a chat with friends or family.

Come inside and enjoy a roaring log fire, sample our excellent range of beers and wines or enjoy fabulous food from our award-winning chef Scott Law. Or in the summer you can laze in our large garden overlooking the view to Worthy Island Wood.

Lovely place for lunch Good car parking Clean and well maintained Staff very attentive Food was very good but only 1 cooked vegetarian choice, so I would reccomend searching menu before going in case you don't like that particular dish. I had gnocchi with mushroom ...very tasty The only other option was cheese sandwich

Top quality restaurant food with beautiful rural views at the rear of the property. Outdoor dining is lovely on a nice day. Friendly staff, attentive but not imposing.

Average, and such a shame! We had a very lack luster welcome and waited a while for menus and to order. The menu choices were not great, I had fish which arrived just with potatoes and was overpowered by the curry powder flavour. We were in the restaurant which comprised of small cramped tables where you could hear everyone's conversations. The waitress did not really engage much and seemed rather miserable, we asked for desert menus and waited well over 10 minutes. All in all a very disappointing experience, would not rush back.

What a wonderful little find! So beautiful we ended up staying for the night 🫶 Marone was absolutely fantastic, and the food was simply delicious. Excellent menu, fabulous drinks and the wine list was superb. Cosy, cute - delightful. Unexpected stop after Alton Towers, but at only 10 minutes away would highly recommend for dinner (or indeed an overnight stay!) Thank you 🙏
