Just the music is superrrr loud. U can only have conversations between songs . it is an amazing place though
It was an amazing special night for my girlfriends birthday, they really spoilt her.
Good fun and great night but the service on arrival and throughout the night didn't meet expectations or reflect the website's marketing.
This restaurant is extremely fun, we had an oversees Design Team in town and wanted to treat them to a special dinner. At the end of our meal we were all encouraged to dance and smash plates - which gave the evening an additional element of camaraderie. In this sense, everyone had a memorable evening.
There were 15 of us in total and we'd pre-ordered food in advance from a set menu.
The one let down about this evening was the service. When we arrived the restaurant was completely empty and yet nobody came to take our drink orders. The waiters were all just standing around having a chat, not a single bit of attention was given. I had to leave my seat and approach the waiters several times to get drink orders, food orders and our special request actioned (it was a coworkers birthday and I'd asked for a dessert to be given at the end). What was also bizarre about this, was that they brought a slice of cake out with a candle in it but then took it back, so the birthday guest couldn't even eat his cake. Weird!
The waiters also seemed agitated, they didn't smile - and every time I spoke to them it was as if I were causing inconvenience. The starters came out after our drink orders too, which was also pretty strange.
Not really a welcoming or attentive service, but once this improves I'm sure Elysee will receive the 5 star experience we were hoping for!
Good food, great show but definetly quite pricey!
What an unusual Xmas eve dinner for us. Highly recommend to all tourist.
Overpriced average quality food, expensive drinks, loud music, we were seated at a narrow table which was uncomfortable. Don’t waste your money
A wonderful venue. It has great entertainment, a live band, singers, performers and traditional plate smashing. The atmosphere was lively and the food and wine and cocktails were all excellent. I had Stifado as a main and highly recommend this. It’s not a cheap night out but it’s an experience worth paying that bit more for.
We went to Elysee for the work Christmas dinner. We were seated at our table but it was so cramped that the waiters kept on bumping into our chairs. The food was mediocre. The quantity was good but the quality: not so good.
The music was good, especially if you like Mediterranean music. The plate smashing was fun but dangerous (I had a piece of shard go into my finger from the waiter who was smashing 10 plates at the same time!!)
After dinner, we went upstairs to the bar and Shisha lounge. But unless you have dined there, you need to pay to go up.
Nice place, very Noisey, Food is average, service was ok
My guests arrived for a business meeting. They arrived to a barely opened restaurant with unmade tables and a surprised looking manager and were promptly turned away!
They made their way up to The Ninth on Charlotte street and had a great lunch there instead!
We sat outside on a warm evening which was lovely and had a nice holiday feel, but unfortunately that was the only good aspect of my trip to Elysee.
The food was average & expensive.
The staff were inattentive, on the phone whilst serving us, slow & mainly just chatting to each other.
I had a starter meze & sparkling water (we had to ask for ice as the water was considerably warmer than room temperature, as were my friends beers!) and I paid £36 which I find ludicrous.
There are so many nice places that are reasonably priced in the area. Definitely won’t be returning.
They asked to move me to another table because someone they know wants my table, and he also said that the table that i'll be moved to is reserved so i'll be there for a while then he'll move me to another table. So basically he'll be moving me around the restaurant. Disrespectful
If a person will pay ( tips or side money ) they get respected there, or if the person is known.
All though i had a booking on this table 2 days ago.
And been coming here for quite a while ( 3 years )
Good place for friend gathering, staff was friendly, a little pricey,
Booked on open table and received an email saying the booking would only be confirmed when a member of staff called me within 24 hours. Didn’t hear anything so called at the end of the following day and spoke to a gentleman who confirmed all was fine and we would be sat outside on the roof terrace. Received a called from a lady the following day (day of the reservation) who was very rude. She said she was calling because the reservation wasn’t confirmed, so I explained I had spoken to someone the day before who had confirmed everything and she replied ‘no’ in a very rude tone. Not sure what she meant by ‘no’ but I explained again that we had confirmed the table already and again in a very rude tone she said ‘you need to tell us where you want to sit, nothing is confirmed’. She should have been apologising for the confusion if anything. In the end she agreed to sit us outside and that was that. Not sure why it was such a big deal as we arrived at 7:45pm and the place was empty until 10:30/11pm. We weren’t given food menus for about half an hour/40 mins which was fine as we were chatting with our friends but would have been nice to have been provided with more than a drinks menu. Our order was taken about an hour after arrival. Food was nice, not amazing but tasty and we enjoyed it. Ambience was really nice on the terrace on a warm summers evening. Overall I would recommend for the lovely atmosphere in the summer but wouldn’t return myself.
Great service, friendly staff & tasty food.
The food was decent, but overpriced. The service was the real disappointment - not only we had to constantly ask to be served, twice the staff dropped a knife on my friend and then had the audacity to ask for a tip ON TOP of the service charge which was already included in the bill.
To be honest, we went to elysees for dinner to try it out and potentially book it as a venue for a hen party. After our experience, we will not be coming back.
We went as A group of 6 for a work colleague birthday during a working day it wasn't a weekend. The extra charge of the entertainment was not appropriate as 1- it was not busy (only 3 tables occupied) 2- we were the entertainment (we were asked to dance with the singer and we made the ambiance rather than a show was put for us). After that only one table was giving the plates to smash and that was not us even through that was the unique experience of this restaurant which was plate smashing. We weren't even asked if we would like to to have the plates to smash when we paid for the entertainment. The food was okay, really salty chicken. When I was asked why I hardly touched my plate I expressed that the food was too salty but nothing was done about it. Good service from the team. Over priced on a weekday especially the entertainment was 5£ each for not much entertainment.
Roof Garden very nice, food OK
We felt 2 separate menus used with different prices.
Not enough people in dining to create an atmosphere
Lovely roof top dining. The food was good, tasty with good portions. I booked ahead but can't say I was given a reserved table as I was seated outside of the main dining area which I wouldn't expect having pre booked and was later asked if my Paula which it isn't. Good value for money. Staff were generally nice.
There was no cold white wine available and we were offered ice to put into our wine glass. There was pressure in order the set menu when I made it clear at the time of booking that we wanted the a la carte menu. I also made it clear that it was my birthday at the time of booking. They delivered a slice of birthday cake with a sparkler to all others who had birthdays and dismissed me. They were then alerted by a friend and still did nothing about it. There was no service other than taking our order and delivery of our food. The experience was not enjoyable at all despite we paid £5 per head for the music and the price of the food was much more expensive than any other restaurant you would go to and order the same dishes. It was clear they just wanted us out as soon as possible so that they could give the table to others. An extremely disappointing experience.
Food was good not sure if it was any better than most take away they also charged us for 3 course meze even though we just had 2 courses waiter was informed very disappointed.
Very tasty Greek food. With the live music and vibrant atmosphere, this is definitely a good place for a celebratory meal. In fact, there were two Hen Do's and two birthday parties the night we dined. My only complaint is the tables are quite small and close together, making it slightly uncomfortable as my boyfriend had to readjust his seat every time someone wanted to walk by.
Good evening overall . I will definitely recommend
On arrival, we went upstairs to the bar that adjoins the dining room, for a pre dinner cocktail. We were dining at 7pm on a Thursday so the restaurant was quiet. The dining room is simply stunning. High ceilings, coving and panelling and all looked absolutely beautiful. The guy that served us was welcoming and friendly. I had hummus to start which was somewhat disappointing. Not much you can do wrong with hummus but I've had just as good from Tesco. I was expecting more from a Greek restaurant. Lamb kleftico was outstanding. Good portion size and absolutely melt in the mouth texture. The trio of Greek desserts was fairly average but the accompanying ice cream was delicious. The food is quite reasonable and based on what we ate we would go back. However, the wine list was not really suitable for us. I don't like dry rose wine and that was all they had. We ended up ordering lemonade to add to it, to take away the dryness. Personally, I found the wine expensive. On the whites and roses there was only one bottle that was under £30. I think that's enough to pay for a bottle of wine. The next level was around £36 and even that wasn't to my taste. Based on the price of the wine list I wouldn't return. The main restaurant is downstairs and that's where all the music and action is. We were dining early and for that reason booked our table in the upstairs dining room as we knew we'd have left by the time the music started. This was for a birthday celebration. We've done this in other restaurants and mentioned it in the remarks section on Open Table. Id also told the restaurant when they called me to confirm my reservation. We've always had this recognised by other restaurants. Usually they just pipe happy birthday in chocolate on the dessert plate so nothing that costs too much money but is a nice touch. This didn't happen in The Elysee. Not the end of the world but it might be worth thinking about in future as little things mean a lot.
The food is absolutely top notch, the service is great and from roughly 10pm onwards (on a Saturday) you get live entertainment in the form of a live band and singer/dancer, which is great (despite you almost need to shout to the person next to you if you want to have a conversation).
Overpriced and average food.
Best experience ever, I booked for my girlfriend's birthday and it was amazing and memorable
My Wife and I went there on 13/01/17 not knowing what to expect. Well !! what a find. Food * Atmosphere * Entertainment *+. Fun Fun Fun all night. Look forward to returning soon.
Amazing atmosphear, cool traditional greek show and the chance to participate in the show, wonderful food
We had a lovely lunch at The Elysee - we were served very quickly and the service was efficient, friendly yet discrete. Would highly recommend!
Pros: Very good food while having fun with the live show. Good place to go with friends.
Cons: if you are too close to the scenario, the conversation with other might be difficult.
Everything was great, food, live music, dance, warm atmosphere... Just one unacceptable issue: There was one guy with his girlfriend, who locked familiars for the guest (he accompanied the male singer for one Arabian song ), next to our table, who smoked inside the restaurant, been seen by the staff, but no one said anything to him. Maybe he's an influential person there, but for me, nonsmoker, it was really disturbing, and annoying... Couldn't believe that is possible in a central London restaurant, nowadays...
Went to Elysee with some friends last Friday upon recommendation. At first I was a bit worried as the restaurant was a bit quiet but it quickly filled up and was full within half an hour of us being there. The food was delicious and service fantastic, the entertainment was fun and authentic especially the greek plate smashing and dancing. Would thoroughly recommend.
Delicious food, the show (music, performance and plate-smashing) makes a great evening.
We had a lovely lunch full of Greek favourites sat outside on the rooftop seating area. Overall a fun lunch and we would return.
Exceptionally good food.
Very quiet on Saturday Night when we visited which seemed a shame.
The dining room in next to an entrance where people walk through hotel which is a little strange.
Really Nice place, Great service, outstanding food.
Perfect for celebrations, great food and wine list.
The food was good, the music was great; we danced all night long but 120£ for a bottle of ouzo was too much🙈
Came for my dads birthday and it was fantastic. They do plate smashing at the end which is great fun and the live music was nice during dinner. Really looked after us and we're extremely attentive
