Staying in the Cotswolds for a couple of days and wanted to try a restaurant that wasn’t in the popular touristy areas. Discovered the Feathered Nest.
What a fabulous experience and we received a friendly warm welcome as soon as we arrived. The barman poured us great g&ts and we sat on horse saddle bar stools at the bar, which was great fun.
Food was excellent especially the scallop starter. The ambience was lovely. We had a table overlooking the prettily lit outside patio.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant
Having said they would give drinks on the terrace nobody came as promised.
Having eaten here many times under the old management we were very disappointed with the menu. 2 references to KFC????
Do I want to eat KFC when I’m paying over £200 for two for dinner?? The waitress could not explain what this was, just a vague “spices” The connotation was off putting.
A burger?? Perhaps in the bar but not in the restaurant but it seems the menu applies everywhere. A mistake.
No vegetables on side order on menu “ oh sorry we sold them all yesterday at lunchtime” 😳
A disappointing experience and a great shame to see the decline. The food was ok but not to the level charged.
The choice was good. The service was excellent. The food was nice but not outstanding for the price
We revisited as we had stayed a couple of years ago and loved the food and views.
We were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent but surprisingly it was very quiet. Maybe because it was Monday lunchtime?
Service was very friendly and engaged.
The venison was delicious as was the light/dark chocolate dessert with cherries.
Excellent in for an intimate dinner. Delicious food from the chef who has some michelin stars I believe. Very attentive waiting staff.
Great food, service was nice but shockingly slow. Clearly understaffed which is a shame for such a lovely local pub.
Great food from a great team at a fabulous venue
Lovely settings, staff attentive.
Overall I would recommend this to everyone.
We will be back.
Stunning location with spectacular views. Delicious food. Whilst staff were very friendly they could have been more attentive - we had to chase up for desert and more drinks. However a minor drawback - would still highly recommend.
Beautiful place and good food . Highly recommended
Larger menu. On the web site, there is an inclusive lunch menu. Not offered at the restaurant.
Wonderful food. Obviously expensive because it’s high end.
We had a truly perfect meal in a lovely setting. The service was also great. Would definitely go back and recommend.
We came to this restaurant on recommendation. The views around this lovely place is stunning. We were looking forward to enjoying a drink in the garden where there are swing seating looking over the Cotswolds. They greeted us and give us the drink menu. After 25 mins we were still waiting to asked what drinks we would like. My husband had go an ask eventually we got our drinks but just took the edge of the experience. Thankfully once seated the food was very nice indeed my only disappointment was I was looking forward to halibut shown on website but had been changed to brill. I hadn’t tried this fish before it was very nice. The flavours combinations were delicious. Just a note to chef re goats curd and tomato starter more goats curd please tiny amount was lost on this dish. Overall we enjoyed the meal and the surroundings are beautiful. Lovely ending to our Cotswolds holiday
Amazing food, staff were all lovely although a little too formal for us personally. The service was extremely slow which was frustrating as we were the only ones there for a while and the more important people seemed to be getting served first and got lots of attention. Won’t be returning but I will say the food was incredible and couldn’t fault it.
Perfect place to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Amazing ambiance, food and staff. Thank you, we will definitely be back!
10th Wedding Anniversary meal that was from start to finish an absolute joy
The food especially was of the highest standard a great menu which was cooked to perfection
The service was superb also, the team really looked after us and are a credit to this establishment
We both will return with friends in the spring
Superb food and great service. We had an outside table on the Terrace over looking the country side
Tasty and well cooked food that is beautifully presented at a location with great views across the valley.
Will be back
Everything was top draw from the Pub / Restaurant / Views
Food and Drinks were excellent
KFC Chicken to Start
Chateaubriand for Mains
Sticky Toffee for Dessert
Service was so friendly polite and courteous by Hugo and all members of staff
Even brought out a candle nest with two chocolate eggs for Kim my wife's birthday
Went to celebrate our anniversary! Setting is outstanding !! The staff were all very courteous & helpful , the meal was exceptional, we had the chateau briand as a special treat , & weren't disappointed!! Can't wait for our next visit.
Beautiful setting, attentive staff. A very nice gesture at the end of the meal for my friend’s 90th birthday. Food very tasty although a little expensive.
Wonderful place. Staff were so welcoming. Food was beautiful. Such a special place with incredible views.
The service would have got four stars, but the cauliflower cheese arrived when we were halfway through our main course. A simple mistake I guess.
Wonderful food with views from our table. Great service and a good array of options.
My husband and I had a lovely meal outside, enjoying the wonderful view. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious as usual.
I love this restaurant and would never visit the Cotswolds without visiting but, i do think its expensive and perhaps too many strong flavours on the dinner plate.
Lovely food and great service. The staff were lovely with our children.
Lovely place, great setting. The menu was very limited resulting in a difficult selection process for both my guest and I. As a result, no starters were selected and a main was ordered but would not have been our natural first choice. A shame as it is a lovely place. The DP champagne was good though. Not sure I would eat there again but would visit for drinks.
I took my friend for her special birthday. It was amazing, the food was outstanding. The cocktails (the Cosmopolitan!) was fabulous.
Staff excellent we honestly had the best night. I will be going back again very soon. If you haven't been, you don't know what you are missing!
Excellent food friendly staff but slow service and was not offered wine until I was half way through my main course.
Felt rather neglected in bar area as we had our dog with us we were not in the main restaurant.
delicious and never dull.
Tables at the back are not so cosy - but with a view it's divine
Sadly we visited on the day Chef pinged so although staff apologised and brought extra drinks etc our one course lunch took two hrs as obviously couldnt cope. Think it would have been better to have the option to go elsewhere instead of waiting so long. Beef was very rare so assume they had to cook the beef there and then.
Food was ok but not the standard expected.
The waiting staff were great.
I would recommend not visiting on a busy Sunday!
Awful Sunday lunch, punctuated by noisy, unrelenting uncontrolled children, seemingly no dress code at all, slow service, expensive food and cold rooms.
Food was excellent, Michelin star worthy. Service was impeccable. Left with smiles thinking what a lovely meal/experience we have just had.
Returned for a second visit.Seated outside, views amazing. However was a bit cold & at main course requested to be seated inside.Felt that the main course choices were a bit limited but did enjoy our meal.
Great food - a couple of times that we had to ask for extras and menu clarification where the ingredients had been missed out?! But a great lunch apart from this.
The food did not meet expectations and it was very expensive.
The pork belly portion was incredibly small considering it was£30.
The children pasta valued @ £10 was not home made and tasted overcooked.
The burgers were good but again overly priced.
What a lovely spot! Stunning views of the Cotswold scenery. We had the Chateaubriand, divine!! Absolutely lovely place, highly recommend adding to any Cotswold itinerary.
Lovely location and the food is cooked beautifully.
