The Feathers Bar and Restaurant
When you have a comfortable bed to tumble into, just a few steps from the dining room, it’s as well to do so replete with fine food and maybe a glass or two of a good wine.
Eating and drinking is at the heart of The Feathers experience. The award-winning Restaurant serves the best of modern English cuisine and locally sourced ingredients
Really excellent food and lovely service. This chef really is a chef (unlike most). He/she knows how to cook. The food was top quality ingredients and beautifully cooked and presented. The service too was great. And thank you for the birthday candle and singing! We are already planning our next visit!
I had afternoon tea with my aunt for her birthday it is the second time we have done this. I would recommend it a lovely venue very comfortable nice staff.
A great meal in a lovely setting. The staff were courteous and attentive. The meal was very good value for money and we enjoyed our evening very much. Thank you!
Very pleasant surroundings, good food and very attentive service.
The greeting and service was a bit spotty. No obvious route to the restaurant.
Nice food and we enjoyed our visit but the decor is terrible. Would he good to go more classic, currently looks like a terrible chain hotel.
Let us eat an hour early.Pleasant staff and good service.Cosy restaurant with a nice atmosphere
Nice snug buzzy relaxed bar with a huge choice of gins and friendly service
Smart cosy restaurant; again with friendly professional service.
We both had the rump steak which was excellent quality and cooked to our taste
Would certainly return if in the area
A very enjoyable experience, attentive staff, great tasty food, will definitely visit again!
Sat in the bar with our dog
Staff were great and roast was perfect!
Amazing food, delicious combination of flavours. You won’t be disappointed!
Servants need firm handling - sloppy receptionist, arrogant barman and very inexperienced first waitress. Last one who served coffee and bill knew her business and would promote her right now
"Servants need firm handling" What world do you live in? We are here to look after our guests but if you think of us as servants then I would strongly suggest your rethink your views of hospitality. We do our up-most to look after each and every single guests that walk through our doors but guests like you, no thank you! I am sure you do not wish to come back but I must say you are not welcome back. Dominique - Servant / General manager
Good lovely and service excellent
Will definitely return again !
Great Varied menu..... our Italian waiter was excellent.... (sorry forgot name) definitely recommend, but make a reservation
Lovely setting, fantastic service, but unfortunately the same menu with the same soup for three days in a row. The Gin Bar is fun and offers a wide variety of gins.
Fabulous lunch with good friends, marked ambiance down slightly as there were not many people there as we had booked an early lunch. It did not affect us having a most wonderful time. Highly recommend
We have visited the Feathers many times over a number of years. Last time we stayed and the rooms were not good but had an unexpectedly great dining experience there. This time we stayed elsewhere but decided to eat at The Feathers. Despite excellent service (at both lunch and dinner) from very hard working staff (Flavio and Ben) the food was disappointing. There was no bread on the table,my starter (citrus smoked salmon) was tiny and tasteless, husbands soup was salty but OK, both main courses were again just about Ok ,my lamb was rather chewy and my husbands chicken pie was rather tasteless with not much filling.
Overall we'd say this was Ok pub food at restaurant prices. Such a shame when compared to last experience.
Very nice food, excellent quality ingredients.
The menu is not massive but offers good variety.
The environment is somewhat closer to a good pub than a good restaurant, it could do with some more attention
Oh dear what a decline
This used to be such a nice restaurant
Processed bought in produce, undercooked veg, not much gravy, synthetic cream
It was such a disappointment
Go anywhere else - only two tables in use Sunday lunchtime and we won’t go back
Very good sitting in a beautiful village
A meeting and catch up with old friends an hour from our home and an hour and a half from theirs.
The venue and service could not have been improved on and the food was excellent. Best of all we were not rushed the whole ambience was relaxed and friendly.
All in all a lovely occasion - thank you.
Honestly i had high expectations for this restaurant. I booked it online and went for my husbands birthday. The service was very good but the food was a disappointment. I really didnt enjoy my food. Bummer
Had a very nice dinner at the Feathers! Great service, delicious food. We recommend having a drink at their gin bar - you'll be spoiled for choice! Hopefully we'll have an opportunity to visit gain.
The service and food were amazing. The staff were very polite and attentive. The bar man definitely knew the inside and out of the full gin selection.
Shame they did not now I booked for a cream tea with sandwiches. And just got scone and creams with tea and coffee. As they said they don’t do this on a Sunday but this was booked . This was for my Nan 89 th birthday . We where all disappointed wont be coming back again
We had a delicious meal at the feathers. I had the lamb which was perfectly cooked and came with a delicious croquette. What is more, the service was impeccable and very friendly.
Took the afternoon tea as a special treat. Service was fine to start with but we were the completely ignored thereafter even though only one other table was occupied. Food wise wasn’t impressed by the sandwiches which tasted a bit damp as if previously chilled. Cakes were tiny and of rather heavy texture. Tea for one comes in a tiny pot.
Pleasant room helpful receptionist.
Basic pub food, restaurant prices & service was Extremely slow.
Amazing food and great service. We were very pleased with everything at The Feathers , food was exceptional
Nice food and lovely environment, but service wasn’t great.
Good service and lovely ambiance. Nice cakes. Very poor vegetarian choice of afternoon tea sandwiches - just 2 filling. When I explained that I needed vegetarian sandwiches- which I had forewarned the hotel about - the waiter listed the meat fillings available and then asked if they were any good! Then went on to offer fish. Training is required.
We enjoyed the meal a lot and the service was excellent.
The food was of a high standard though a little mean on the starter where I was only presented with 2 scallops for about £9!
Great selection of gins for pre-dinner drinks. Log fires gave a real homely feeling and the dining room was excellent.
Delicious meal and friendly service, cosy, welcoming ambience. The perfect birthday treat for my partner and I.
Absolutely beautiful food, very good quality ingredients. Great choice, fantastic staff and atmosphere. Definitely a little gem
we attended on a Saturday lunchtime. the food and service was very good but we were the only people in there. Initially there was no music on which made it extremely quiet. After we commented on this one of waiters put some 1950's background music. it was overall enjoyable but it lacked atmosphere
Had booked fir the dining room, but my friend only wanted a main and pud so we were offered to stay in the bar to eat, which we did. Nice area, quite and good service. Food excellent. Loved the range of gins!
Would throughly recommend
Great service and tasty food could not fault at all service was friendly but not obtrusive
Warm and friendly atmosphere.
This restaurant was recommended to us but unfortunately we found the whole experience to be distinctly average!
The service was slow. The food was overpriced.... £28.95 for a sirloin steak and chips!
There was a large group on a table nearby who were quite loud so the ambience was somewhat spoilt.
Perhaps we just went on a bad night but I’m afraid we were very disappointed.
Great food and a great selection of gin 😁
A cosy, quiet restaurant with fantastic food and extensive gin and wine lists!
