We tried the seniors lunch expecting it to have smaller portions so that we could have three courses. We couldn’t manage pudding or coffee. Good choice of food and very enjoyable. Staff friendly and happy and pleased to advise about the food.

Had a lovely lunch from the “pensioners specials” menu which is extremely good value for money. Not sure I fancied the curried chicken pie though!

There were 5 Adults l child and 2 babies in our party. It was to celebrate my sons birthday. The staff were all very helpful and helped us with the children. The food was anazing and now we realise why we have had such trouble booking sunday roast. We have tried for nearly a year to get booked and had booked this table 3 months in advance. Will come back and highly reccomend it.

Very good value for money. Needs a ramp to front entrance to bars for wheel chairs. But a great little gem! X

This pub is fairly local to me but I hadn't visited in a while. Myself and a group of friends had a great dinner there on Saturday night. We were seated immediately and offered drinks while we chose off the menu. Food arrived in good time and was all delicious. Great service from start to finish. Would highly recommend.

Great service, lovely table in the conservatory. Meat and fish dishes were very good. Vegetarian options were disappointing. Both main courses were cheesy; the veggie lasagna was stodgy. It would be great to have a more modern veggie option with chick peas or beans or lentils for example. Lovely garden, great for families especially in the summer.

Over busy , not enough staff. Table in restaurant in direct sun with no shade.?To many people in beer garden so restaurant suffers. Long wait for food and bill. Pensioners lunch cheap and cheerful. Wouldn’t return.

I've been once before to this restaurant and the service was good, hence booking it again for my birthday.

The Service this time round was poor.

We were not made to feel welcome, perhaps the lady greeting us was having a bad day but a smile and a friendly welcome cost nothing.

The waitresses seemed stressed and not very attentive and got part of the order wrong.

To be fair to the waitress, we were not charged for her colleague's mistake.

I won't be returning.

Great as usual. Sunny day so we sat in garden before lunch. So we stayed 4 hours, not because of slow service, just because we were having a lovely time.

Have recently moved into area and have found the Fighting Cocks to be best place for Sunday Lunch, Pensioner's Lunch and Saturday lunch. Very good food and service and beautiful garden and plenty of run around space for grankids - if they come too!

We had a really fantastic waiter who totally understood that the day was extremely hot and we couldn’t manage roast dinners. He sorted us all out, got high chair arranged for the baby, brought out the cake for my husbands birthday and even sang to him - excellent service, nice helpful guy.

Eaten here on numerous occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it. However on this occasion was left rather under-whelmed.
Service was quite slow even though restaurant was relatively quiet, starter was rather plain and over priced for what it actually was and the homemade pie had bones in. I left feeling disappointed.

As always a pleasant meal in an excellent restaurant. However on this occasion my was less than satisfactory. I ordered a 'well done' steak which was served very rare and for me uneatable. The waitress took the steak away to be cooked further but left the rest of the meal to get cold. The chips were hard and not pleasant. Apart from this all was well, but disappointed with my meal.

We have become regulars of your OAP lunch, which have at most been good,
My husband chose to come here for his 87th birthday on the 11th May. we had trouble getting seated only because we were trying to find a table that suited my husband, staff very helpful..

Well the soup ( and we love your soup) this time it was to thick to eat and enjoy and it was not to hot we did tell the girl when she took our plates away,
Main meal, my husband decided to have 2 starters the seconded being whitebait which was OK I ordered roast beef it did not say cold roast beef so I asumed it would be hot with veg, but no,,
it was cold with 2 warm potates and some sort of salad I hate salads, never ever eat them so you can imagine how I felt no one came up and asked was everything ok.. so I eat 1 slice of beef (took the other home for the dog), because cold beef is tough to eat, and 2 potatoes, I had to come home and make something to eat, Husband was quite upset for me ..
