Perfect as always, have been a customer for ten years and have never had cause to complain. This pub knows what it is doing.

Food has gone downhill since we were last here. Just very bland, slightly warm and not very well presented.

Unfortunately this was not the best experience of the Fighting Cocks. Have been here a few times and worst service we have received. Had to wait over an hour for our starters and then a bottle of wine was bought to the table that we never ordered and then the mains came that we never ordered. The waitress had put the tables next to us on our so we received all of their orders after they had sat down after us. A very lovely lady came and apologised for the error but it should have been the lady that made the error apologising seeing as it was her error that caused all the problems. We even had the £16 bottle of wine tagged into then bill which we didn’t have. Not the best birthday I have had!!

Great place for a meal, whether it be celebrating a special occasion, meeting with friends or a date. Food is awesome, and the staff are brilliant! Scott is a legend (he absolutely did not pay me to say that).

For a late booking they were very accommodating and the service was good. However whilst the meal portions were rather large the food was not as hot as it should have been!

I had roast lamb, but could have been more tender. Also did not favour the roast potatos. My wife had Mr. Parker's meat pie,O'K, but not as good as Mr's Manning's pie. I normally give lunch time meals a good nine or ten out of ten,but on this occasion only 6 or 7 out of ten,so it may b e a while before I would come again.

Last minute booking on a Friday evening and managed to get a table for two, due to party night the table was in the bar which was fine for us and it was a good atmosphere.
Good service, a reasonable selection of choices from the menu and some excellent specials.
Have visited a few times and always been good, garden is really nice in the summer so would definately recommend.

Ordinary looking pub buried in a small village hides a nice internal ambiance [particularly in the large conservatory] with very good food at reasonable prices. Worth seeking out.

I was meeting an old friend I haven't seen for years, so we got to the pub for 11.30am. The greeting was a bit like warm- my friend had asked for coffee before I got there and was told they weren't open yet and when I arrived and we went to the bar, I said hello to the man behind the bar and 'how are you' and got a 'not great' as an answer. We did get coffee and went on to have a lovely lunch and the man was much more cheerful, bu it did initially take the edge off the experience! Would go back though.

Food is usually very good but I made a bad choice. The menu offered a luxury fish pie, so I asked the young male waiter what fish was in it. He replied, Cod, prawns and crab, and it was on this information I ordered this dish. However, it contained calamari and mussels, as well as some white fish and a couple of prawns. I have to say that I was disappointed. When the same waiter cleared our plates and enquired if we’d enjoyed our food, I explained my disappointment with the dish. Had he enquired if our food was ok shortly after it being served I would have told him no. But this opportunity didn’t arise. Also a few of the pudding choices had sold out, even at 6:30 in the evening? We therefore didn’t order a pudding due to a restricted lack of choice. I would return to the restaurant but make a different food choice and if there were any issues I would seek out the waiter to get the matter resolved, so that I had an enjoyable meal.
