The Flowing Well is a cracking pub in the pretty Oxfordshire village of Sunningwell.
It has been sympathetically refurbished adding warmth and colour to give a welcoming relaxed feel. We'd like you to think of it as home from home. After all it is the pub of a thousand locals. You can be one of them!

Arrived at 6.40, shown to table ordered bottle of wine and water, starters just while we waited for the main course, starters to Half an hour to arrive, main did not arrive until 7.45. Ran out of time , ribs were good fish was swimming in oil! Overall average

All generally very good, friendly an attentive staff, food very good. However, piped music often too loud and intrusive for normal conversation. Noisy coffee machine. Choose your table carefully.

Such a lovely pub always a nice atmosphere great menu and the food is always great. My only niggle is the same every time we visit which is the lack of attentiveness. Constantly having flag someone to ask for drinks, sauces the bill even is frustrating as I really like it here. We left feeling a tad let down I am sad to say.

Hidden gem! Lovely pub with great food. Very pleasantly surprised and will certainly visit again if we are passing by. Good background music (with the odd bark as dogs are welcome). Nice beer garden too. 5 stars!

We had travelled down from Leicester to visit our Dutch friends who had just arrived in the UK for three weeks holiday in their caravan. We wanted to take them for lunch to a typical English pub. The Flowing Well did not disappoint. Food, service and atmosphere excellent! Thank you!

I found The Wishing Well by searching for somewhere with good reviews to go. I wasn't familiar with the area and I was taking my aunt out for her 86th birthday. It was a last minute search and we were all very happy with it. We had burgers (a tad overcooked, but good nonetheless) a vegetarian lasagna (excellent), chili Prawns, slow cooked Ribs (very good indeed) and chicken. The staff are young and friendly. The setting for the pub is beautiful and peaceful. It is clean, well run and has a big car park.

Wonderful pub set in the picturesque village of Sunningwell, popular with locals, walkers, and destination diners as well. Imaginative menu besides the usual fayre. We sat outside and enjoyed the ambience on a lovely sunny day. My only criticism is the choice of cask ale which is limited to Greene King offerings. Will definitely revisit.

I visited this place few years ago which was great but today the food was way below average. slow cooked rib was tasteless, burned, full of fat etc. Ribs from tesco would have been 100 times better it was obvious coleslaw was kept in the fridge for a long time, fish and chips was not good either. value for money is really bad too £8.20 for a glass of rose wine is crazy I am most certain that I will not be visiting this place again

We asked if the coleslaw could be replaced by garden peas. The waitress had to go to ask the chef, who said no! Will not be going back to a place with so little flexibility.
