The Foresters - Hampton Wick Ratings and Reviews
I'm usually wary about going out for a Sunday Roast, they never compare to my Mum's!
However, I went for Sunday lunch at The Foresters with my best friend and it has definitely changed things for me - it was absolutely delicious and the portions were huge. I had a food baby the size of a 7 month pregnancy by the end of the meal and it was so worth it.
I shared the camembert with my friend to start (fantastic chutney), had the pork belly roast lunch with a side of pork & herb stuffing and cauliflower cheese, and for dessert shared the sticky toffee pudding with my friend - which was also incredible.
I will be coming back!
We've been meaning to try The Foresters for years - finally got round to it for a girls' Sunday lunch. The roasts were delicious and huge! Unfortunately they had run out of one of the two vegetarian options but promptly offered a complimentary glass of wine as compensation! It was really busy but the staff was very friendly and attentive. A great place for a relaxing lunch and a few bottles of wine - would definitely go back.
Not our first time here, but it was for the Nephew and Niece , both of whom like good food.
We advised against starters; they had full 'adult-size' Sunday roasts instead.
Oh, yes, with extra potatoes, cauliflower cheese, and stuffing.
They were impressed enough to clear every scrap on the table, declaring it the best roast dinner they'd had - and let me tell you, they've had many...............
Enough space only to share the sticky toffee pudding.
They've decided that this is now 'their' place when they visit us. That's fine with us.
Excellent staff, as always. Good music selection. Flamboyant decor. Lovely.
I love this place and don't visit enough. The menu is super interesting, there is something for everyone. The food is exquisite. I chose the special sausage and mash, unbelievably delicious. The other half had a madras pie which he devoured. The wine was great and Thomas and the team made us feel very welcome.
My husband & I booked a reservation for Sunday lunch, it was fabulous ! We both ordered the roast beef which I have to say is the best Sunday roast I have ever had. We visit different pubs in local area for a Sunday lunch, the Foresters beat them all ! It's a lovely pub with friendly staff, shall definitely be rebooking. Also shall book for evening meal as the ambience perfect !
I grew up in Hampton Wick a number of years ago & nice girls did not go to the Foresters as it was a GI hangout. Hahaha. Well I have moved back to the area & very happy to visit the Foresters !
We were two couples having Sunday lunch together. The food was outstanding and we regularly eat out. Be very careful if you have the Roast Lamb as it will ruin it for you forever. It literally melts in the mouth. We had starters and puddings. All was excellent.
Did I mention that the service was attentive but not obtrusive. A fine art.
And all in a pub at reasonable cost !
Not surprising that they have won so many awards.
We went here for Valentine's night as they had a special deal on with entertainment afterwards.
As usual - friendly staff, great ambience, food & wine, just can't fault it!
Our only critism is that the service was very slow, we got an apology at end of meal which was fine but I have heard from other paying customers that this is quite common, if this was sorted then the pub would get 110%
Still will go back time and time again though!!
We went there on the recommendation of a friend as a good place to have a bite to eat. We each had the Sunday roast and were not disappointed at all. The food was delicious and the service was prompt. I would have no problems in recommending the Forresters as a place to go for a nice meal.
Great dining experience on Sunday. Really good service from Ana and Jayne, wonderful wine recommendation, Thankyou Ana. Lovely ambience and music. Only criticism was could be bit more on the plate as was £15.50/16 per roast, perhaps some more veg would give better value for money. Will definitely be returning . Thankyou for a lovely experience
I searched online for Sunday lunches in Kingston upon Thames and The Foresters kept coming up, so I knew it must be good! This was easily the best Sunday roast I've had in years, I'm still obsessed with the roast potatoes! So good! And the staff were awesome too, so friendly. I will definitely be going back (for more roast potatoes!!!)
I love everything about the Foresters - the warm welcome as soon as you step in, a wide range of delicious wines and knowledgeable helpful staff. The choice of food is excellent and is delicious when it arrives. It's a very cosy spot, the perfect place to lose a few hours and take time out from the rest of the world.
A great place to eat or just enjoy the pub atmosphere.
The food was excellent from taste and quality as well as portions.
The staff was really friendly and helpful and I felt well looked after.
I would recommend to pre book a table as it seems a well liked place and can be very busy at times.
All around it was an excellent experience and I can only highly recommend it.
The only draw back I found was that I found it difficult to find parking. I am not from this particular area which might explain that.
However, having mentioned this to the staff, they advised me on where there is good parking available in the area. So it is well worth asking when booking on the phone and like me, you don't know your way round this area.
5 star experience all the way along. My recommendation are purely on my experience and what I observed. I wouldn't be able to comment on the vegetarian option as I didn't consider a vegetarian meal, but I'm sure the staff will be able to advise you on this.
Thank you to all the staff. You are a great team and made eating out a pleasant occasion which I can highly recommend.
First time visit and really impressed with quality of food, and friendly and attentive but relaxed service - we felt we were given the time to relax between courses but it didn't seem like we were waiting for service. Prices very reasonable especially given quality of food. Nice ambience, the only minor downside was the occasional burst of loud music from the pub-side, but this didn't last long.
We returned for the fifth time this year despite our well known local pub in Kingston being close to the river and closer to us than the Foresters, we came because the food is consistently good the service consistently great and the atmosphere able to respond to different client needs, we have been before to the soul funk disco been for dinner with friends and Sunday lunch on several occasions
Thanks to all front of house and behind the scenes great times
We had the chicken parfait for starters which was really lovely together with crusty toasted bread. I had the lamb and my daughter the roast chicken. We had extra sides of peas and cauliflower cheese. It was all really well cooked; veg was crisp and not soggy, lovely roast potatoes, meat was tasty and well cooked.
It was all excellent and the service was exceptional - really like it should be but very rare to find!
Really enjoyed the whole thing.
