The Four Horseshoes
Food was totally devine and service was wonderful
Nice food but incredibly slow service!
Celebrating my friends 60th. As usual the food was 1st class. Steak and Ale pie ... yum! Very efficient service. Very friendly landlord.
Great place - food and service great. It was recommended to me, and I will recommend
I'm always impressed by the staff foremost, and the staff here were so friendly - they welcomed us, checked in regularly without being intrusive, and were very personable. The food was very tasty, especially the salt and pepper squid, which is some of the best we've had.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere as always. Love this place! Sunday lunch is so good and the gravy is amazing! Highly recommend for a drink or food during the week and weekends but def worth booking as it can get very busy.
Service was very good even though they were very busy. The meat and fish courses were very good. Don’t order the salads as they are poor value for money.
All the meals were very good although the steak pie came without any vegetables which was a surprise.
Not the cheapest of prices and desserts relatively expensive.
Good food and service the tables are not too cramped together. Unfortunately there was a rowdy party who had been there a while taking chairs over head and disturbing diners....it’s not usually like that!
Had a really lovely lunch , all the food was really good. The staff were lovely and enjoyed the whole experience. Would definitely go again ,and recommend it to friends .
Very relaxing Sunday lunch. Food was great.
A nicely presented country pub/restaurant.
Efficient, charming, attentive staff, delightful service!! Food and wine above average, verging on excellent !!
The landlord should be pleased to have these great people working for him!!
A delightful restaurant to have dinner with friends - lovely atmosphere-great service and food.
We had a great meal here the short ribs and truffle chips were fabulous. It was busy and there was a good buzz with nice staff.
We came to eat on a Saturday night, service was incredibly slow, we waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our starter. We didn't get our main courses till 10pm, our table was booked for 8pm. However, our waitress was very apologetic about the slow service.
First time dining here having been many times only for drinks. The ambience and service were great, and so was the food. Will definitely return more often.
The young girls who served us were fantastic
Great food, great customer service, nice location and building
Food was excellent. Lamb beautifully cooked. The batter on the fish was light, crispy and didn't stick to the fish. Service was friendly.
Good food and great service
Food was great and our server was attentive but not intrusive. We had a lovely evening.
Second time visiting the area - very relaxed and quality food - will be back next year
We have been several times to the Four Horseshoes but this will be the last.
One of the party asked for a glass of rose and got white. The staff member has zero customer skills and if he is new as we suspect he was, then the management need to coach him on how to engage with customers. At the table, one person received their meal but no more appeared, and then the server came back and took it away after a good 5 mins and said it wasn’t for us. Fortunately for them the meal hadn’t been touched as we were waiting for the rest. Drinks were ordered at the table and we had to chase as they took so long to be served.
The only good part was our main waitress who was very bubbly and chatty, who interacted very well and we had a laugh with.
Delicious food, very attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be returning, next time with our dogs as we were delighted to find out they are welcome too.
A very enjoyable evening with good service and surroundings. The food was excellent although I felt the steak burger was little expensive.
Fab in every way
We arrived 30 mins early and welcomed. Our questions about the menu were answered expertly and in great detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal .
Really good have been there several times and never dissappoints
We love the Four Horseshoes and eat there regularly. On this particular night they had a new menu with less choice than usual which was disappointing. Still had lamb koftas on the menu which are always delicious but the recipe had adjusted slightly and not as good as usual.
Service was very slow despite not being busy as we were there early and we had to go to get waitress several times to order drinks and pay the bill.
Please raise your game to the old standards!
Really lovely atmosphere- and packed on a Thursday night. Staff were standout, and really make the place what it is. Food is good with generous portions. Baked Camembert was particularly good. Nice wine list. First trip, will definitely be back.
Great food, very friendly welcome and super service.
Beautiful food and fantastic smiley service. Definitely recommend
A great country pub that is most definitely worth a visit. Brilliant staff, excellent food, and a wonderful setting. We will be back for more... Thank you for a great experience.
Didn’t like the pate starter it was too stiff but the fish & chips were delicious. Bit disturbing, our waitress was using the loos same time as me & didn’t wash her hands when she came out!!!! Not impressed with that!!!
We had a great three course roast dinner on Sunday. The food and service were excellent. The restaurant was very busy, so we did have to wait a little bit for our main courses. The food when it came was really delicious. The staff working there were fantastic and very helpful. My only complaint was that the table was rather sticky!
Lovely food, really moist chicken on the Sunday lunch.
Extra veg, potatoes and gravy on request.
Really lovely staff.
Very good food and service.
Would come again and recommend to others.
Lovely food. The lunch menu is good value. We had a delicious time.
The drinks were forgotten, the food order was incorrect with items missing from the plate/requested burger toppings not added, my friend asked for a coke without ice and when this came with ice the waitress said she'd take it away and remove the ice (why not just bring a fresh coke?) and when we were finishing our drinks after the meal we were asked about 6 times if we wanted to get finish up and get the bill, even though the pub was still busy and there were other diners in the restaurant, and empty tables with no new diners arriving. It's a lovely pub with a great atmosphere, sometimes the food and service can be great, but on this occasion we felt that the staff were not well trained and were there more for a chat with each other.
