Great Food and Customer Service, especially from our server Jessica
Great place and highly recommended. If you want a charming and cosy pub in the Home Counties - this is surely the one.
I've been to the Shoes many times but tonight the food was exquisite. Well presented, cooked to perfection and delicious. Our waitress was smiling and enthusiastic. A fun night with friends definitely recommended to dine here or just have a drink.
In a nice quiet area, lovely ambience ,friendly staff, good selection of beers and wines, food excellent ! Definitely worth a visit.
Brilliant as ever, first time for a roast though, will definitely be back. Thankyou
We’ve been here before and always find the food excellent. The service and setting is also first class . One minor gripe is the cost of the sauce you can have to accompany your steak. I feel it should be cheaper. Will still enjoy visiting and would recommend it.
Seafood tagliatelle was superb as was the lamb rump. Sat in the bar area for food and like the atmosphere here.
Consistently great, love the pub this time of year, so cosy and warm
Always good and so enjoyable.
Lunched on a quiet day. Service not fast but very pleasant and food very good.
Very enjoyable lunch with two friends. I would have appreciated a couple more vegetarian choices, and/or fish/chicken, but overall a good menu.
Very enjoyable Sunday lunch. Great Sunday roast , super service and very agreeable ambience. Will be back !
Booking a table on line was easy. We were welcomed and shown to our table which we were able to choose. The menu was excellent with a good variety of choice.
The service was great throughout the meal.
Lovely evening, food and service were excellent. Highly recommend.
The food was truly below the normal quality of the 4 horseshoes. The fish and chips, containing a ghastly piece of overcooked and dry grey hake, and smothered in a very thick greasy batter was not nice at all.
Very disappointing - I had Chicken roast lunch. 1 carrot, 1 parsnip & dry chicken. Small portion. I’ve used 4 Horseshoes many times before, but will stick to drinks in future if food doesn’t improve
As confirmed in our phone call I can only apologise for the dry chicken, definitely not our normal standard. In regards to the veg it states on the menu and our servers remind guests we do not pile up our roasts sky high but instead offer endless top ups on veg, roasties, gravy and yorkies. This avoids any waste from unfinished large roast dinners. Hopefully we will see you again…. Regards, TFH
Nice food and good service. Couldn’t say outstanding as a side dish got forgotten and we were charged an adult portion instead of a kids’ meal. Roasts good but in my opinion cauliflower cheese takes them up a notch. The gravy tasted a bit funny but overall the experience was pretty good.
Absolutely love coming to eat at the four horse shoes.
Food is always lovely and staff are really friendly!
We have never had a bad experience so far.
Its one of our go to for food. We are never disappointed in the food and the service, its always superb. We went last night 24th Sept 2021 for my Husbands birthday the food was excellent, the service excellent and all round great night. Thank you guys.
Lovely pub, friendly staff and amazing food! I would highly recommend
Lovely birthday celebration last night. Excellent food and service. Really nice interior. Will definitely return to try a Sunday roast
A lovely quaint, characterful pub in the heart of rural Surrey full of charm and comfort.
The food is exquisite I had the best beef & ale pie ever, well cooked, beautifully presented and full of delicious flavours. The choice of food isn’t vast but the quality is worth paying for. Reasonable selection of beers.
Overall a real find and perfect on a warm Summers evening or a dark Winters night.
Lovey food and even though a Monday night (and quiet) still felt cosy
Sadly everything thing we ate was all just a bit bland. When asked how we enjoyed our meal and explained this, our waitress didn’t show much empathy. The ‘baked’ cheesecake most certainly wasn’t baked and resembled something from a packet mix. Such a shame, as we are semi-regulars and have not experienced this on any of our previous visits. Perhaps we’ll stick to Sunday’s in future for the exceptional roasts we’ve enjoyed there.
Great service , great food as always !
Fabulous food & service as ever. Our favourite pub by far!
All you need to know - we will go again. Good food, nice decor, friendly service
Food and service was good until after main courses. Left sitting with dessert menu for over 20 minutes, noone came to take order or ask if we wanted drinks etc .. had enough so had to flag down someone to just ask for bill.
Excellent food, great Guinness and organic wine, lovely service too, highly recommended
Wonderful service and amazing food as always! All servers were very attentive and accommodating to our needs.
I ordered the beef and ale pie . I have had a pie here before it was home made and delicious. The one I had this time was obviously shop bought , a lot of pastry , not much filling and the gravy was quite bland . My advice would be go back to your lovely home made pies !On the other hand my husband ordered something else and thoroughly enjoyed it .
Lovely local pub with great food at a reasonable price.
Disappointed with the menu selection which has not changed in a number of years.
Th dessert I ordered was subsequently not available. Will be a while before I return.
For clarification our menu changes every season, so at least four times a year and ironically it changed on the day of the guests visit. The guests last visit was summer 2017, so definitely has changed since then!! Of the eight desserts the crumble was unfortunately unavailable for the first sitting but was ready for second sitting. The guest has been contacted direct regarding the other issues experienced.
Just one slight criticism parsnips we're under cooked
Fantastic Sunday roast and a good selection of wines.
Overall a very good experience
The lamb was absolutely amazing! The ladies serving were brilliant and sooooo lovely definitely will be back
Great evening. One point, only one slice of mozzarella on starter of tomato and mozzarella salad. For £7.50 I thought that this wasn’t value for money. Our evening however was perfect.
Really glad that I booked The Four Horshoes to meet halfway with friends for a catchup. We had a great dining experience... couldn't fault it. Everything we ordered was perfect and the waitresses were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.
Lovely location with lots of dining areas I side and outside. Service was efficient warm and friendly. Lots of good options for food.
Always great service , fab food and lovely atmosphere
