We have been going to the Fox and Grapes for many years and it has never disappointed. Good food, good service and lovely atmosphere. We will definitely return!
Such a treat to return to the Fox & Grapes with friends - one of our favourite venues as we're all coming from different directions and we can combine a short country walk (we now park at Wimbledon Windmill's car park) before and after a scrumptious meal. I enjoyed traditional fish 'n chips followed by a delicious gooseberry cheesecake. One thing we always appreciate with this venue (even outside of Covid-sensitive times) is that there is plenty space between tables and the restaurant is dog-friendly, although we didn't bring a furry friend with us on this occasion.
We went to The Fox and Grapes to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The food and service was excellent. Just what we wanted for our special day. We will be returning again soon.
Reunion for work colleagues. Very pleasant experience, nice food and beer. Lovely staff.
Great food and very friendly staff, we had a great evening.
Really lovely family meal at the Fox and Grapes. Our dog was very much welcomed too (own bowl of water etc!). Food was delicious and service great. Will look forward to going back soon!
Excellent meal, great service.
We went for a family celebration and it was perfect.
Great food, great service. Fantastic flower arrangements
4 of us took our dog to the Fox and Grapes last night to celebrate my husband’s birthday. They were very welcoming and accommodated our request for a table with some corner space to accommodate our (quote large) dog. The food was delicious, but the service was quite slow, even when a lot of people had gone home. Drinks and starters arrived fast but the main courses took ages to arrive, so those who hadn’t ordered starters were really hungry by then. We had planned to order dessert but they took so long to come back and take our order that we gave up on the end.
The back room of the pub has a very low ceiling and was incredibly hot (to be expected given the weather) but there weren’t any windows open (they do open-we checked) and the back doors were locked shut. We asked if they could be opened but the waiter only opened ours so it didn’t do much. In this hot weather, some air flow would have been appreciated…
We love the Fox and Grapes and we want to support it but slow service is really frustrating..
We had a lovely late lunch. It was quiet but in COVID time it was perfect.
The menu is rather limited but the specials were great.
Very good food, service excellent. Looking forward to going back .
A very cosy lovely pub tucked away in the commons. We had a wonderful time, staff were very pleasant and served us in a very friendly manner. The vibe inside was simply great especially with the football. All distance organised for Covid so very safe. Nothing was too much for the staff ,, always helpful. The food was amazing and very delicious. We loved it and will be returning many times Thsnk you for a pleasant evening. We found a great pub .
Absolutely perfect Sunday lunch. Crispy pork crackling, light and fluffy Yorkshire puds and just the right amount of fresh veg to fill but not overstuff. Service was quick and friendly, the waitress even brought a bowl of water for our dogs without being asked. Great example of a good value and high standard pub. Highly recommended.
I haven’t visited the Fox & Grapes for a while and left with mixed feelings. Food was fabulous, and the staff were attentive, although not necessarily switched on. On arrival it took several attempts to identify ourselves… the girl on front desk was obviously confused by the fact that the booking was in my name (female) yet my son (male) checked us in. After suggesting various other bookings under male names, my son succeeded in pointing to my booking and we were led to our table. Perhaps it was the fact that the men’s finals was on , but the waiting staff seemed distracted. I ordered wine (as one does), but after watching the bar staff polish numerous glasses and me half way through my meal, I realised a reminder was in order before I actually finished the food. So … mixed feelings especially given the 12.5% service charge added to the bill.
The roast pork was to die for!! Super lovely staff too. Thanks for an amazing lunch! 👏
Fab service, fab food
Lovely place, great atmosphere, staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. One thing small thing, the wine list was a bit expensive overall but would definietly go again.
Excellent place. SUCH good service, super attentive staff and great food. Couldn’t recommend more - GO !
Good no fuss food. Good service and friendly atmosphere
Excellent food and friendly, efficient service. Will visit again.
A fabulous pub with superb food , wonderful staff always so enjoyable.
Great tasting food, slight confusion about the order but was quickly resolved. Would be good to have a wider range of soft drinks for non drinkers but this would be a bonus. An excellent venue for a pleasant meal oit
The Fox & Grapes is one of Wimbledon's best pubs with excellent food and selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beers and lagers. It has great character and very friendly service. It is just a little way from the centre of the Village and warrants the delightful walk as a prelude to a great experience.
We all had a really nice meal. The food never disappoints at this wonderful pub. I really wanted a vegge roast which they don't offer but they kindly substituted the meat for grilled aubergine and I must say the food tasted even better than it looked!!
There was a big combination of dishes for all of us and everyone was very happy.
Desserts are delicious!!
Perfect for a extended family gathering but food quality and value not as good as I expected. Hence a rating of 3 (in the middle) .
We were a party of 6 and had a room to ourselves so felt very socially distanced and safe. They kindly turned the speakers off as several of our party had hearing issues. The food was delicious and the service was very attentive. We will certainly go again.
Incredible. Just…incredible. This is my new favourite pub in London. Warm, friendly service with cracking food and a relaxed atmosphere. Dog friendly too!
We really enjoyed our visit, food was delicious especially the Chicken Liver Parfait off the specials board. Service was outstanding too, waitresses were very friendly and socialable. We will come back undoubtedly.
We love the Fox and Grapes. All the staff are charming and helpful especially our waitress, Sarah. They are very accommodating of our dogs too, very important in a Wimbledon common establishment!
A great gastro pub with lovely staff.. they also made our dogs welcome. Thanks
Too many noisy dogs ! Great service from Sarah I think , lovely cocktails and a delish food.
This is a real gem of a place to find on beautiful Wimbledon common. Loved the decor, food was excellent and the staff particularly friendly and charming
Lovely friendly staff who seemed really keen to ensure we had a good evening!
We love eating at the Fox & Grapes. It always feels special. The menu is interesting (there are usually specials) and the food is delicious. The staff - especially Girly - take extra care to make sure you are happy with everything. She involved all the customers in singing happy birthday to my husband! They go the extra mile to make sure that you have an excellent experience.
Meal even better than ever (and they were already always great). Food and service terrific.
Lovely as always! Can't fault the service or ambience now that life has come back a little. Best roast by far. Only negative.. the roasties.. but we are yet to find a pub that perfects a Sunday roast potatoe! It's a hard task with table turnover. That said.. keep it up!
Tables felt on top of each other and the space lacked atmosphere with no music and staff on the sidelines waiting/watching. Food was good but unfortunately the set up and atmosphere let it down and we would be reluctant to return on that basis.
Love the Fox and Grapes, food was delicious. Our table wasn't ready when we arrived but staff were apologetic and made sure we had a drink. When we were seated, it took a while to be given our menus but after that hiccup, staff were very attentive. Recommend.
Thought the food a wee bit pricy this time for the amount on the plate, wouldn't fill a hungry young person ! Would have been happy with a small dish of new potatoes and green veg complimentary ,between two, and veg isn't too expensive ?
' We do like the pub and have been coming there for years, I drive down from the Midlands and my family are local
Lovely atmosphere and great service. The staff made us feel that they wanted to serve us, which was great! The food was excellent, as was the wine. The menu isn’t extensive but it was still hard to choose as everything sounded (and then tasted) fabulous. Highly recommended!
