The Freemasons at Wiswell
We've dined here a lot, but this time was particularly excellent!! It was my mother in laws birthday and the staff were just so super sweet to her the whole time we were there.
We really appreciate the care and attention that goes into each dish at this beautiful restaurant. Cannot recommend highly enough - Freemasons at Wiswell have it all sorted out in the best way possible.
Amazing chicken liver parfait by the way - we live in France, so we're surrounded by pates and parfaits and the one currently on the menu at Wiswell is to die for!!!
Thank you so much for the best experience - we always come away from dining here with a wonderful feeling of zest and happiness. Amazing place!
An excellent meal served by intelligent attentive staff. Great atmosphere. I ate every morsel!
Outstanding as always. A few different dessert options would make it even better as both desserts were very similar. Excellent service as always too. Can't wait to return.
The overall experience was positive, however the service was quite slow.
Our table was booked for 8.30 and it took a good 2 hours to be served 2 starters and 2 mains.
The staff were really friendly, especially the matradee.
Apart from enjoying the extremely delicious food, we loved the service - attentive, but not over the top.
We will certainly be returning.
2nd visit to Freemasons and it didn’t disappoint again. Lovely surroundings and gorgeous food. All staff very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be heading back, highly recommendable.
Excellent menu, wonderful food, great and professional service. Not cheap but worth the experience
Everything was great about this place. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was superb.
Excellent food and service if a little surprising pricewise.
If you go expecting to pay more for outstanding food you won't be disappointed.
Absolutely stunning each course was a culinary delight all of our friends were overwhelmed by the visionary delight , the best restaurant in the Ribble Valley probably the north Of UK! Thank you 🙏🏼
Beautiful setting. We had the steak which was small, but tasty. The price was extortionate. We had a glass of wine each and a gin each. We would return but would look at the costs more closely.
Not been for a while but been recommending the Freemasons to friends - we finally got there for Sunday lunch and it was excellent - food, service, the place itself are just fabulous- can’t wait to return
We are frequent visitors to The Freemasons and on this occasion it want quiet at the standard of previous visits. The food was slightly off par compared to previously and the staff didn’t seem to be quite as attentive or “on the ball” as they are normally. We did see the new en-suite bedrooms and they look superb with very high quality finishes.
2nd visit after a poor experience 2 years ago... shouldn't have bothered. The food was quite good - eventually - but the service was absolutely appalling (same as it was two years ago).
At just about every step from entering onwards they got it wrong; too busy to acknowledge us when we walked in, 1/2 hour to not take our order, empty restaurant, but seated in a corridor, finally finishing when our main course arrived with the promise of "the sides are on the way" (they were part of the dish, not extras). 12 minutes later - when they finally noticed we hadn't started eating because they hadn't arrived, we insisted on whole new dishes, rather than the "i'll go find out where they are" we we offered.
To make matters worse, they sent the chefs to serve the new dishes and apologise, when it clearly was front of house failings and probably nothing to do with the chefs. Apparently they delivered our sides to another table, who didn't own up to them not being theirs!
Sadly, this all distracted from the food, which was pretty good, with light and tasty dishes just right for a warm summer's evening and a good wine selection to choose from.
They didn't charge for the aperetifs and mains, however, if I ran a restaurant I would be concerned at losing £100 from a customer. Sadly, we won't be returning...
great lunch, great ambiance with good service thanks Ronnie and Lyn
Well presented food - some delicious dishes, some not quite hitting the mark. Lovely staff. Kir Royale overpriced
Terrific. Enjoyed everything from start to finish. Lovely spot in Wiswell, excellent choice of wine and food and warm friendly atmosphere. Firm favourite place to eat.
Perfect way to spend a wet Sunday afternoon. Excellent cuisine
This was our first visit to Freemasons. We found parking extremely difficult. The food was excellent but in comparison with other high gastro pubs in our area the A La Carte prices we thought excessive.
Great lunch: food fabulous as ever. Service is friendly and informative. Great to see the rooms now available to stay.
Yet another fantastic gastronomic experience at the Freemasons Arms. Great tasting food and superb wines served expertly in a totally relaxing atmosphere.
Had the early supper menu. Helpings a bit smaller than a la carte, but excellent value for money. Waiters & waitresses friendly and helpful. This was our third visit to Freemasons and we thought the food was the beset yet.
Great food and atomosphere, would recommend to anyone
Beautiful food and great atmosphere!
We had the three course Sunday deal at £35 the roast beef dinner it was amazing I would highly recommend this to anybody who wants excellent food in the area
Excellent food and service ,a few more vegetables would have been appreciated.
Parking can be difficult
Superb food and service. Good value for lunch. Wine list was fairly priced, especially by the glass.
This was for my husbands birthday. The only issue was the table we were allocated was not far from the door and it was cold . However we were moved to another table as soon as it was possible.
In future I would ask not to have this particular table .
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at the Freemasons. This was our first visit but not our last. The staff were very friendly and the food delicious.
We always enjoy our visits. Yesterday’s lunch was outstanding, the best we have had. It was our friends’ first visit and they can’t wait to return.
The food was exceptional along with the service
The turbot was melt in the mouth with a mousse and truffle that was amazing. The warm brioche roll soaked in duck fat with rosemary and sea salt was incredible.
It feels relaxed and gentle cottage decor out of a country living shoot. The lighting is soft and clever as it really feels light and airy considering the low ceilings and small windows.
The staff are attentive and friendly and they get the perfect balance of not rushing but doing everything before you have even thought of it.
Thank you for a really special evening
Sat outside in the sun, food was great value and taste buds were in full flow.
Fantastic meal and service! Will 100% come back.
From where we live it a long way to go for the standard of meal at the prices charged.
The whole experience was outstanding the food sublime and we simply can not wait to return
Enjoyed the tasting menu., sitting out in the sunshine. Loved it. We'll be back.
We were very disappointed when we visited on Sunday. The food was really good however the service was incredibly slow. But our experience was really spoiled when a couple with their dog came and sat next to us (who all the staff knew, because they made a big fuss). Not everyone are dog lovers. The dog was allowed up to the table. It ate and drank Guinness from the restaurant crockery. They then shared their steak meal with the dog which ate off a fork. We won’t be going back!
Our dining experience was absolutely incredible possibly they best meal out I’ve had the service was top notch the atmosphere was perfect and the food was on another level
The set lunch menu was outstanding for the price. Unbeatable!!!
Great restaurant, great service, great food, highly recommended.
