We had a lovely dinner at The French Table! The food was delicious and the service is very pleasant. I also love the bread they serve.
As previously the lunch was a great experience. Super chouette! Will be visiting again in the future.
Au devoir a bientot.
Wonderful food, beautiful presentation. Tasting menu and wines are very good value. The staff were attentive and friendly. A perfect evening
We love the French table. Delicious food and excellent service. We take friends there if we want to treat them for some reason eg to say thank you or to mark a retirement etc. A restaurant for a special occasion or treat for someone. You can rely on the French Table to deliver a high standard of cuisine.
The French Table is our restaurant of choice for special occasions. The dishes are all outstanding but I would especially recommend the Tasting Menu which is always surprising and delicious. Service is excellent but the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed. Lunch is a real bargain for food of this standard.
Fabulous restaurant, would thoroughly recommend. Perfect place for a romantic meal or a special celebrations.
Booked for 1.30pm, because they couldn’t offer us anything earlier, and when we arrive the place is packed.
We ordered the tasting menu at £32 for 5 courses, plus Sicilian Grillo at £23, rather than go for the paired wines.
The wine came at once, closely followed by an amuse bouche of deep-fried eel on spiced pumpkin. Quite fishy, but very good. The first of the 5 courses arrives soon after – scallops in a shell, topped with chorizo crust, with cauliflower and seaweed chutney. This is amazing. The crust is crumbly with a kick, the scallops (2) just right and the seaweed a novel taste.
The second course was a “ballotine” of foie gras, it was a round slice of paté wrapped in crushed mushrooms, and supported by roast fig and piccalilli, with a streak of port sauce.
There’s a good satisfied buzz around the busy room and, despite the table being quite close together, no overly loud guests. There is some background music, but playing so softly as to be hard to identify.
Next is hake on coco beans with crispy fried samphire and a lobster sauce. The sauce smells gorgeous, the hake is nicely judged with a slightly crispy top and the samphire really fun. It’s not a big portion, as you might expect in a tasting menu, but very good indeed.
Three pieces of medium rare beef come with some creamy, cheese and garlic mash (pomme aligot), girolles and a madeira sauce. The beef is simply excellent, tender and so full of flavour.
Our final course is chocolate soufflé with vanilla parfait - stunning. The soufflé has a lovely crust and a melting interior; the parfait is covered in nutty chocolate. Nothing to fault at all – parfait indeed.
Went to celebrate daughter’s birthday and the little touches made her day special.
I managed to secure a table for a wedding anniversary celebration lunch. We opted for the tasting menu, but picked our own wine. It was an absolutely outstanding experience on every level. Fabulous food, knowledgable and attentive but not intrusive service, convivial ambiance. This wasn't our first visit and it won't be our last. An absolute gem of a restaurant.
Great food & service
Food was fantastic, we had 3 courses, cocktails and wine. Everything was great value and we were able to sit and chat for ages over our lunch. I particularly liked a truffle risotto served with the guinea fowl, it was absolutely full of flavour. We will be returning again soon.
I took my husband for his b. Day. Mum in law, 5 year old and baby came too.
Our experience couldn't have been more positive, absolutely everyone from the staff were super lovely and we were all catered for even our baby son!
My husband had lovely b. Day wishes in his dessert plate and in the menu! This lovely gesture couldn't have been more thoughtful.
We will definitely be coming back for more.
Thank you TFT!!!
Very friendly and relaxing environment, very impressed service and high quality foods.
The staff are extremely friendly and efficient. The food is very good
Very nice food and thoughtful and attentive service. These guys are real professionals. Great place for a romantic meal or a special occasion.
Fabulous birthday celebration for ten of us for Izzy’s birthday. Delicious food. I think we were the noisiest table but nobody seemed to mind. Fun fun fun. Great service and friendly personnel. Thank you to the French TAble. Best dining experience we have had in A while. Complimentary shots and champagne at the end of the evening. Oh what a night! 💖
I have eaten here on a number of occasions and have never had a bad meal. The food is always excellent and the service spot on - warm, friendly and efficient without being obtrusive.
Nice little french place, the food was delicious.
I found the service a bit chaotic, waiters & waitresses are a bit all over the place and mistakes happen, they try a bit too hard but it makes it a bit stressful to watch to be honest
Thank you for your comments and I'm sorry you were disappointed with our service. We did have a new member of our team out on the floor for the first time that evening and in their keeness, they approached the wrong table. A mistake that we rectified at the time, but I understand how this might've affected your experience with us. We geuninely take great pride in our service and we'd love the opportunity to look after you again - something I hope you'll consider. Zoe, Reservations Manager
We’ve only ever been for lunch which we particularly enjoy. We took friends who had never been before, they are well travelled individuals, and they thought it was excellent. It's unpretentious and casual but nothing is casual about the food which is creative, a pleasure to eat and one can have bread, three courses with wine and coffee with chocolates for a very reasonable price.
As always outstanding
As a group we had the tasting menu plus wine pairing. Food and wine both outstanding and the service was great. The team were friendly efficient and knowledgeable. Many thanks
Great food and friendly service, atmosphere and ambiance just right for a quiet lunch
We had the tasting menu with the wine flight, all of which was excellent, I cannot fault this restaurant, and really hope to return one day.
We had the tasting menu with wine which is super-expensive but a real treat. Absolutely stunning dishes, particularly the scallops and the beef - but it was all so tasty. Pairing the wines adds to the special feeling of the evening. Can’t wait to do this again but will have to save our pennies for a while!
Fantastic food, beautifully presented and completely delicious. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes and the wine. I highly recommend the tasting menu with paired wines, which although quite pricey, is totally worth it. It’s a wonderful restaurant to visit as a bit of a treat and/or special occasion.
Yet again another lovely meal. Service impeccable and worth every penny.
Lovely food and wine and table
Roll on 23 December lunch.
Even better than we remembered; everything was perfect
We saw this place on The F Word. My husband booked us for lunch after we flew in. They were lovely about storing our bags while we ate. The three course lunch was beautiful, the venue was light and lovely. Their chorizo bread was to die for. Definitely visit their bakery next door to grab some loaves and desserts for later. Simply perfect experience
Wonderful! Amazing food, beautiful place and faultless service.
Excellent,will be back very soon.
Couldnt fault ,anything.
Thouroughly enjoyed our lunch. We had the taster menus. Portions were just right, not too little and not over-filling. Michelin standard. Recommended.
We've been to TFT regularly over the years and it never fails to impress. Great ambiance, fantastic food and wine, but unpretentious. Very lucky to have it as one just f our local restaurants.
TFT has been recommended to us by friends and we finally visited on Saturday. We were not disappointed. The service was impeccable and the menu varied and of high quality. We have eaten in a number of restaurants in Paris and TFT easily matches the very best and betters many. We will definitely return to this excellent restaurant.
Amazing service, food and ambience.
Staff extremely friendly and attentive. Food was amazing but a little pricey. Good for a special occasion.
Had a wonderful birthday celebration dinner for two. Thoroughly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
Having dined at the French Table three times, have concluded that the food, although well cooked and presented, is usually over-elaborate, with too many ingredients and tastes. And with it rather expensive, especially when vegetables are extra. We were also disappointed in a restaurant which is admirably quiet, one table had a very small and noisy baby, quite spoiling the ambience. possibly forgivable at lunch time, but not in the evening.
Excellent as always.Delicious food, reasonaby priced carafe wine and friendly, efficient service.
We went for my grandfathers 87th birthday meal, and the entire experience was fantastic. Would definitely go again and recommend to a friend. The food and service in particular was astounding.
Very good and accomplished food, beautifully presented. Excellent attentive service without being over pre-occupied with constantly asking if everything is alright which can become annoying. A most enjoyable experience as always.
Always a creative menu and very nice people who run the restaurant.
