Highly recommended. Excellent food, service and ambiance
Poor customer service. Had a outside reservation and they could accommodate our request. Seated us twice 1) right next the an amplifier of a performer, 2) on a table that the plates would slide off of if we didn't hang onto them. The manager could care less and made minimal effort to try to resolve the issue. Had dinner at a great restaurant a little way down the street.
The food at GM has consistently been delicious for quite awhile. Their drinks menu is especially good.
Didn’t honor reservation. Said trainee made mistake.
...One of my favorites...
Great food. (Salmon with saffron risotto is delish!)
Good service makes a meal taste even better.
I suppose this was a COVID issue, but apparently we had to be seated outside, under the makeshift tents, when we stopped in for lunch. We had asked for a quieter space, which the hostess did as well as she could (there is traffic going by, since we were basically on the street). Unfortunately, the staff soon seated a large party of loud talking adults and rambunctious preteen boys right next to us. We also noticed that one of the neighboring business had placed a trash bag on the sidewalk in full view of the dining area, and nobody bothered to clean it up. You'd think that somebody would have removed it.
I ordered a draught beer, which was decent, but from the appearance of the beer in my glass, the bar staff apparently doesn't rinse their glassware to a "beer clean" state before use.
Overall, though, our food was decent, and the service was fine. The atmosphere wasn't quite what we wanted, though.
This is one of our favorite places in CT. The service was great, but the outdoor seating could some more landscaping.
Just ok. Understand the Constraints due to the virus epidemic but menu totally lacks any creativity. They advertise brunch on their website they should remove that until I prepared to serve brunch on Sunday. Experience just OK when I return maybe
Came for Sunday brunch with a friend whom I hadn't seen in a long while. The food was good, but not excellent, but the experience was, nonetheless perfect. Service was lovely--by which I mean not pretentious and efficient. We were seated in a quiet corner near the fireplace and were able to stay, without anyone acting concerned, for more than two hours. Very, very much worth what we paid for: in fact, the experience was priceless.
As soon as the COVID plague has passed, we'll be back.
Menu and food has significantly improved over their basic burger and beer. Some very creative dishes - love the pesto Mac n cheese - and best variety of salads in Greenwich. The burgers are consistent ( been coming here for 17 years) and are very good. Generally a quiet place to enjoy a meal except for Friday evening when the bar scene can be overwhelming. Service is generally satisfactory. Nice people too.
Favorite date-night go to. Relaxed atmosphere with great food.
Great date night. Comfortable setting. Easy going staff. Good wine and food.
Happy hour went too long and too loud. The upstairs was not open.
Here for lunch during the week. It wasn't full, but there were lots of people ... and we had no problem having a conversation.
The waiter was great helping me pick a wine I liked. The Caesar Salad with grilled shrimp was delicious - as were the grilled asparagus. The sweet potato fries tasted good, but they weren't crispy.
My friend wanted Sangria, which wasn't on the bar menu, so he told the waiter how to make an easy version of it - which they did, and it was good. Both friends were happy with their food orders.
Parking in Greenwich is always a nightmare, so that's a drawback, but I would definitely go back to Ginger Man.
Great salads. Loved the Mac and Cheese so much. Yum! Great service.
The restaurant has a nice rustic ambiance. We had reservations and were promptly seated in the back room. We waited 10 minutes before someone approached us to take our orders. We did not have to wait long before our drinks and appetizers were served. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about our dinners. We waited almost 30 minutes before our food was served and it was cold. I called one of the bus boys over and complained that the food was cold and he took it back to the kitchen to warm it up. He must have told the manager our complaint because she came over to us to apologize and she wanted to give us a dessert on the house but by this time we were annoyed. Our waiter finally came over and wanted to know what was the problem. In the whole time we were waiting, he never came over to us to see if we needed anything, not even another drink. It seems that they are light staffed and are not able to provide proper service. I had noticed another patron, before we received our food, return her food as well to heat up. We noticed that other diners sitting near us were not very happy because the service is horrendous. It is a shame because the food was good but due to the lack of service, we will not be going back to The Ginger Man.
The food is decent but some of the items were over priced. Pleasant atmosphere.
love this place, cosy, beautiful food, warm and inviting....and love the fireplace
Very noisy. Music very loud.
This restaurant is consistently good for lunch or dinner. The salad and appetizers were excellent.
We went for supper and this was our third try to the restaurant. I found the menu limited for young and resistive eaters and also limited for gluten free diets such as mine. I directed my waitress to give me the turkey Berger without a bun and it was delivered to the table in a toasted English muffin. The burger was overdone and tasteless. My son had the rib eye steak. He said it was tasty but extremely thin. The Brussels sprouts were good but undercooked. I think the tapas dishes are the better buy and probably the better buy.and the taster choices.
Outstanding service. Terrific food
Great environment and food, but the portions were very small compared to the price. The ribeye was very thin cut. Not the best value.
We had a great dinner at The Ginger Man. Rom, our waiter, was very friendly and attentive (as was the rest of the staff). The wine and food was delicious - super vegetarian friendly. Love the ambiance as well. We’ll definitely be back.
It was a girls night out. Delicious turkey and beef burgers. Great cocktails. A bit cold in the restaurant upstairs area. Service ok.
Great Pub with a vast beer menu, good atmosphere, good food and friendly service. What more does one need?
The place is jumping on a Friday night. Great place for 30 year olds to hook-up. Food is well priced and good. Our waiter was a bit slow with the second bottle of wine. Didn't know if there were specials since we were not told of any. I made the reservations through Open Table, but when we arrived hostess didn't have our name. However our friends were already at the table. It worked out fine, just disappointed that the hostess didn't have our reservation for 4 in the computer.
Excellent service, comfortable ambiance, good comfort food.
FAIR AT BEST
THE RIBS CAME SMOUTHERED IN SAUCE AND ALL OVER RINGS AND YAMS
IT HAD NO TASTE DUE TO THE OVER POWERING FLAVORBURGERS CAME DECENTLY TASTING BUT SOURDOUGH BREAD WAS SOAKED
WONT TRY AGAIN
Our experience was great ! Service was on point food was great... only down fall is that the table next to us was literally screaming to the person next to them.. seriously sounded like each of them were trying to out do the next.. other than that I can’t recommend this place enough! Definitely will be coming back.
This is a must Greenwich restaurant for all. The food, drinks and staff are exceptional. Kudos to the management for having an excellent wait & kitchen staff.
Good food and good service.
The service was horrible. Hostess was extremely rude. We asked to take food home and they dumped our entire plates with scraps. It was absolutely disgusting. Never going back.
Food was good as always but service was disappointing this time.
Service was great-food was ordinary at best. Had a zucchini fry appetizer-oil from frying on the plate was black. Not great.
Stopped in at Ginger Man after going to Rapture watch. Chosen serendipitly and proved good find. Had cauliflower and shaved Brussels sprouts for appetizers and they were delicious, though could have used a bit more salt. My wife had a Cobb salad and I had buffalo chicken on flat bread. Both met and went beyond our expectations. The waiter was very attentive and friendly making the entire event very enjoyable. Definitely will refer friends if they find themselves in Greenwich.
We love the trout dinner at GM and have returned for it several times. The main thing that keeps us from eating there more often is the seating - most all side by side unless upstairs is open. We just like to have a bit more elbow room between us and other diners. That said, we were given the table at the end which does give a bit more room and we appreciated that.
This is a neighborhood gem. Lunch is always good.
The service is quick and efficient.
