The service was amazing and very attentive. Perfectly cooked steak. Definitely will be going back very soon!
Excellent sevice with the best olives I've ever tasted!! The meat platter was not a dissapointment, amazingly good. This little restaurant is a gem in Putney. Support them!!
Went there for a birthday dinner, and we were recommended a wine by the waiter who knew what he was talking about! We ordered starters to share, each one was fantastic, and we were talkign about which was our favourite for a while not coming to any conclusion! The steak was perfect, again we had recommendations and suggestions from the waiter who was not wrong with anything! Loved it - would definitely go back for a special occasion!
Stayed in Putney Bridge for Wimbledon and booked here for the Friday night.
Just me and my mum we each had a burger (wanted the lamb one but they had run out) - was on par with the best burger I've ever had - crab cake starter was also nice - no room for dessert but there was a good selection on the chalk board.
Really nice chilled ambience - piano player started around 10pm - waiting staff very friendly and knowledgeable.
Would definitely go back!
My partner and I had a lovely meal here last Friday, we travelled from East London and it was definitely worth it. The piano and lighting was amazing and really set a great atmosphere. The food was very impressive, the lamb is definitely worth trying! The waiters and owners really made us feel at home. Lovely people, lovely restaurant.
Lots of very good looking steaks, which didn't interest me as i am a vegetarian. But the atmosphere was good, and the staff very, very friendly. Piano playing as the evening wore on created a fine ambiance.. Brought back my days in Argentina.
This was our first visit to this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. Drinks and food menu are very short but there were plenty of options on there that we wanted to try. I had the chorizo and avocado salad and my girlfriend the fish ceviche - both were tasty and were a decent portion. For main we had the rib eye and pork belly. Again can't fault the cooking and quality of the steak - on par with Gaucho's and almost Hawksmoor in my opinion. The Spanish Rioja we chose was faulty (slight fizz) but they replaced it immediately with a very decent Malbec. All in all a great find and we'll return.
Loved it food was great
Half price on food on Wednesday's which is great value, however we found that service charge is added up from from the total bill price not the discounted price food. Other than that excellent
The food was incredible, from starter to main it was beautiful. With a great selection of wine as well! Unfortunately due to it being so busy we ended up having to wait over an hour for our food, which wasn't ideal, but our waiter was so lovely about it, apologising and updating us very often and offered us free dessert at the end to make up for it. I think we also just had bad timing because 2 groups of over 6 came in only minutes before us!
The food was definitely worth the wait, and we will be back!
Comparable in terms of quality to the well known steak restaurants in London.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
I can't fault the food at all. in our group of 4, we had starters, main and shared a dessert.
Starters were very tasty, Mains were of great quality and also very tasty.
The only negative thing I would say is the dessert portions are really small. In our group we ordered a sticky toffee pudding and a brownie. Each dessert was for two to share When then they came we were disappointed as it was a small portion ( even if just for 1 person to have alone).
The wines were really nice too. I would recommend this restaurant- and will definitely go back.
This place looks the part and has the feel of a family run restaurant. Live piano music in the background was pleasant. The service whilst a bit slow was good enough. Food was good, some nice touches and steaks cooked perfectly. The sides should really have been included in the meal price as should choice of sauce. We had the friday night special offer, which included a glass of house wine. Still turned out to be an overpriced meal once sides and service added. This place worth a visit on a Wednesday or Thursday when they have a 50% discount offer.
Nice steaks, great owner to chat to
Great little find in Putney. The restaurant was busy when we arrived but the waiters were very attentive and service was great. The steaks were excellent and definitely well priced for what we had. Excellent dessert too if you can fit it in!
We went midweek and got 50% off food. Probably ordered more than we should have but such great value and great food.
Will definitely go back. Thank you!
The Glass Dome is a central London quality establishment in the local area. The owner is present and active at the tables during the evening. On Friday, we had the piano playing during dinner, they also have this on Saturdays. Steaks are great with matched wines. Would not recommending this place for vegetarians!
Great food - waiter didn't speak English so took a few attempts to get the correct drinks order btu lovely atmosphere and delicious food
Favorite date night place for my boyfriend and I. Always feel very welcome. We have tried a few things on the menu now and they have always been of a very high standard and very tasty. The staff are also very good at recommending wines and sides. Getting hungry just thinking about it - bring on the steak!
I have eaten here a few times and always have a great meal
Last minute decision for Tuesday night out and went for the deal option on opentable. 241 mains. Food was really good and the service was great too. Guess ambience on a Tuesday is always a little lacking so can't blame the place for that. Glad we got the deal tho as our bill was still c 80 for 2 starters and mains plus avg price wine; it all adds up when sides & sauces are separate!
The food was very good, but the service was a bit disappointing as the waiters were constantly running around and when asked for something they took a long time to provide you whatever you asked. I believe it was not because the place was busy, but because they were not experienced or didn't like the job. Also the food took a long time to arrive.
Overwall the food was indeed very good and the venue looks very nice
Outstanding steak restaurant - excellent meat cooked to perfection. Try the sharing platter with a Malbec if you want the full experience!
Fantastic steak, set in a lovely restaurant, complete with a pianist. We have been living in Putney for two years and we were amazed that it took us so long to discover this little gem. Strongly recommend!
We visited The Glass Dome on a Wednesday and were presented with a 50% offer on food, which was a nice bonus.
Staff could have been a little more attentive, given it wasn't particularly busy in there, but overall the service was satisfactory. We both ordered the Scallops to start, one was perfectly cooked, the other could have done with a few seconds less, and the steaks were excellent for mains. The Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert hit the spot.
They have a pianist on Fridays and Saturdays and I think that would improve the ambience even more, if you get a chance to go then, but would definitely come back for a decent steak in Putney.
Fantastic steak - have not been disappointed yet!
We had a lovely valentine's day meal here. The piano player is amazing and the music makes the restaurant incredibly romantic. we had 2 ribeye steaks and the service and food were lovely!
We would highly recommend this restaurant.
The steak meal we had was outstanding.
We were both really happy with the service and the overall dining experience.
We will definately be returning to this restaurant in the near future.
Read good reviews about this place (apparently good for romance & good food) so decided to take my fiance for her birthday dinner as we love a good steak. Went early on a Thursday evening, we were the only people there up til the time we left! It was freezing inside when we arrived, eventually warmed up a bit. We had calamari and brie (they didn't have the arzua) cheese to start - both delicious! Ordered 340g rib eyes for mains but were served the 200g steaks?? They were delicious though. Service ok otherwise. Overall good food but as it was so empty and cold the ambience was not great - sorry to say but probably won't go back.
Took my father here as a special treat but all in all was a tense and mediocre experience. It seemed that from the moment we walked in the waitress had decided she didn't like us. We had to wait for ages to get their attention for anything, she walked off without finishing drinks order and constantly seemed annoyed by something. Food -I might as well have poured a bottle of oil over my salad and the steak my father had was flavourless. It's a shame how a special evening which could have been made so much better with some simple courtesy was a huge disappointment. It instead was made a tense and awkward one with a waitress who had no manners.
One steak over cooked One steak over cooked One steak over cooked One steak over cooked One steak over cooked One steak over cooked One steak over cooked One steak over cooked
I visited The Glass Dome with a friend after hearing about the 50% off food Wednesday offer. The restaurant itself looks tiny from the front but it goes back quite far. The décor is nice, exposed brick walls give it a little edge. Service was good throughout, mostly left us to it but when we did need something they were attentive. For starter I had the prawns which were average - missing anything that would really stand them apart from other establishments. For main I had the 7oz rump cooked medium-rare with spinach side and chimmichurri sauce. The steak was perfection, it melted in my mouth. Unfortunately the chimmichurri sauce was all garlic, no other real flavour and the I don't know what they cooked the spinach with/in but it was horrible. My friend had his steak cooked medium-well and it was actually charred black on the outside. We also ordered a few glasses of Malbec which were cold to the point of being chilled. Bizarre. In addition, the table we were sat was really cold, I was noticeably cold throughout the meal.
I would recommend going on a Wednesday when they have 50% off otherwise you could end up forking out a lot more than you expected because the cuts are not cheap
Went as a group of 4 on a Friday night for the Steak and Jazz offer.
The food was excellent, however we had to wait over an hour for our starters, and a further hour for our steaks. We did mention this to the staff, and they did give us a couple of bottles of wine which was very kind.
So the service was poor in terms of time we had to wait for the food, but it would seem it was due to lack of chefs that particular night. Would definitely give them another chance!
Nice evening out, TT offer was good, nice food, decent service.
Disappointing shortage of ingredients to make a cocktail ordered followed by choosing two starters which were also both unavailable. Luckily this did not end in complete disaster as the alternative starters still proved to be tasty and the steaks were the best we had eaten for some time and we are real lovers of steak.
Will definitely visit again
My girlfriend and I had our New Years Eve dinner here. It was superb. I don't know how we did not find this gem before but it was certainly my best meal of 2014. We started with the Empanadas and Chimichuri sauce which was delicious. For main courses went for the 12 ounce Rib Eye with Hand Cut Chips and she had the Pork with Mashed Potatoes. The restaurant has a very nice ambience with the piano player, not too loud so perfect for talking. Get the Chimichuri sauce!
My only complaint was that we were so stuffed we didnt have room for dessert. Enjoy!
We will absolutely be back as we enjoyed it so much.
Great roast beef sunday lunch. Service friendly and excellent.
We meant to try out this new restaurant one evening but then ended up going for Sunday lunch with the family. We shared a couple of delicious starters and as the restaurant prides itself for its Argentinian steaks we all ordered roast beef. What impressed us was not just the quality of the beef but how good all the trimmings were and the boys particularly liked the all you can eat Yorkshire puddings. The service was efficient and friendly. I have only ticked 3 stars for ambience because it wasn't that busy but I suppose it's not an obvious place for Sunday lunch. We will definitely be going back again.
Excellent (and sizable) fillet steaks, cooked exactly to order matched with a good and affordable wine list.
Well worth the walk from the Tube/BR station.
Very warm and welcoming with an excellent ambiance. Above all the food and service was brilliant and prices for such high quality meal in this area were reasonable. I would definitely recommend eating here and to try the steak!
